Frieda Bertsch, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, July 15, 2013. She was a resident of the St. Luke's Elmore Long Term Care Unit. Frieda was born July 23, 1919, in Adelaide, Idaho, the daughter of Henry and Katherine Maier Schnabel. Dear editor: I was doing some late spring cleaning and came across this enclosed letter by Sandy Pitts dated 1989. The heading said "Bradbury's diatribes are really getting to be old news." She said, "Could someone please give this man a full-time job so that be would have less free time to research historical quotes which are ill-suited to support his specious syllogisms? Fire guts motor home in Wal-Mart parking lot

An Oregon family escaped injury after their motor home caught fire at the local Wal-Mart on Monday. Allen and Tonyta Sare were traveling with their two teenage children and the family's dog when they pulled into the store's parking lot around noon. The Elmore County Fair is now underway, with the carnival opening tonight.
