A request to expand the conditional use permit to operate a natural gas fired energy production facility moved one step closer to approval Jan. 3 after a public hearing set before city's Planning and Zoning Commission. The stretch of I-84 between mileposts 110 and 112 is the most dangerous section of road in Elmore County. In the last three years a total of 15 people have lost their lives on that two-mile stretch of road known as Hammett Hill, according to statistics provided by the Idaho State Police and the Elmore County Sheriff's office. Orin Dexter, 86, formerly of King Hill, died Dec. 27, 2004, at Hood River, Ore. No services were announced. Dexter was born Oct. 26, 1918, in Bridgeport, Neb. He was a World War II veteran in the Army Air Corps where he fought in the South Pacific. After the war he returned to Hubbard, Ore., where he met Helen Buell Taylor. They were married in Vancouver ,Wash. In 1945 Orin then moved his wife, Helen, and her four children, Maxine, Jackie, Charles and Larry, to King Hill...

Paul Sheldon Kriley, 81, died Dec. 30, 2004, at home in Grand View. The body will be cremated and a memorial service held at 11 a.m., Jan. 10, at Knight Community Church in Grand View.
