There is so much taken for granted in this country, we have become almost impervious to everything around us. So much so, that our attention is easily diverted while "unthinkable" things are actually happening, ever-so-gradually that we might not notice...

I've always envisioned the scene of a newsroom, where the weatherman's desk was over next to a window, and above that window would be a sign that read: "Today's Forecast......look out this window!"...

"Rush Limbaugh" is now on KBOI...........hoopty-doo. Unsurpassed in his own self-appreciation, this blowhard is on the local airwaves now, along with the GOOD ones like Paul J., Dennis Miller, Sean Hannity and Mike Savage. When he's not telling us all how MAGNIFICENT he and his show are, he promotes every candidate that has a (R) after his/her name. No Republican does any wrong in the eyes of Limbaugh...

I got up around 5:AM this morning, as I have been doing for some time now. I've been retired for nearly 5 years, and can sleep-in whenever I so desire, but I don't. This morning, though, it hit me. I got up, took my insulin shot and quietly went into the kitchen, (being ever-so-carful as to NOT wake my wife up, who has to get up in a little while herself, to work an early shift at Wally World)...

Among my video collection, are several hours of old car commercials from the 50's and 60's. I enjoy watching them from time to time, because they take me back to a much happier era of my life. Watching a couple of them the other day, I started thinking about "how far out of sync" I've become over these past couple of decades..........but I'm not sure that's a BAD thing, though..........and this is what I find.........

I'm not sure if there's a moral to this story, but if nothing else, it serves as a lesson in humility. I am a lead guitar player/instrumentalist. Starting in November of 1969, I've had to LEARN to play the guitar....and I mean REALLY PLAY it........because I can't sing. If you want to be a part of the music world, and have no voice quality, you'd better learn to play an instrument............so I did...

Well...this past Friday night, I took my new guitar out for it's "maiden voyage" out at Curly's barn..........plays great, sounds great............but what WASN'T so great was the weather and icy roads, that dwindled our crowd down to the point where the band almost outnumbered the folks who came to dance...

It won't be Christmas until tomorrow, but a week ago, my wife bought me a new guitar for an "early Christmas present. We were doing some last minute shopping in Boise for a few odds & ends, and we stopped at Guitar Center on Curtis & Fairview. Guitar Center is one of my favorite places, because as a guitar player, you ALWAYS need new strings on something, picks, power cords, etc...

One of the poets said, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." I was talking to AyreWolf yesterday about that same thing, concerning the Confederate National Party. Incidently.........just for the record, this "CNP" is NOT some kind of new "fad" for the old Bazookaman. If Kelly Everitt keeps backfile records of "Letters to to Editor", they would show that I have LONG advocated getting us out of the U.N., and kicking the U.N. OUT of here...

This is sort of a December sequel to my blog on "Where's The Wolfman?" Friday night, I played about 3 hours with Curly Surles out at his barn for the weekly Friday night dance.........nothing unusual. Do it all the time. Last night, I played at a jam session, held at the home of our church music leader. She and her husband usually hold a big jam session once a month, or once every other month out at their place...

About a blog and a half ago, Ex-Intern and I were having a discussion about the CNP, Civil War, etc. Among the topics was the government now in power, and that to come. After the "magnificent" job they've already done for the American people, would anyone out there think they deserve a 4.7% pay raise?.........well, according to a news blurp early this morning, they just voted themselves that very thing...

Having driven the icy Interstate, and surviving Boise traffic yet once again, I've finally finished my Christmas shopping. As always, on the way home, I took a long deep sigh of relief, climbing the hill toward the rest area, with Boise gradually disappearing in my rear view mirror...

Off and on, throughout this year, you've heard me gripe about the bias of the media, and soon after I post THIS one, I'll be sure to hear from some of you again.........and that's fine. But I just want to see if I'm the only one out here who SEES what I'm about to say...
