Fire crews were busy this week, responding to five calls, including a double-wide trailer that was totally destroyed. Crews were paged out at 2 a.m. on Nov. 29 to a report of a fire at a double-wide trailer on Groefsema Road. Upon arrival, they found the trailer fully involved in flame. It took firefighters nearly 30 minutes to knock the flames down and another 90 minutes to make sure the fire was completely out...

Sgt. James T. Patterson's 33 years of service to the community will be honored during a special open house Friday, Dec. 4, from 5-7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 515 E. 2nd South St. Patterson's last day before retiring as a member of the Mountain Home Police Department was Monday, Nov. 30...

James Lewis (Jim) Phillips, 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Nov. 30, 2009.
