Sara Latona, 42, of Mountain Home, was seriously injured in a car-bomb attack in Baghdad Saturday. Latona, a civilian clerk working for AAFES, suffered multiple shrapnel wounds to her right leg, hip, side, arm, face and eye when a car bomb exploded next to the bus she had been driving while delivering supplies and some military members from Kuwait to the "Green Zone" area in Baghdad. ...

After nearly two years sitting in jail, Larry Severson's day in court finally arrived as opening arguments and testimony began in his first-degree murder trail last week. Severson is charged with the premeditated murder of his wife, Mary, 35, "by overdosing her with sleeping pills and/or suffocating her" on Feb. 15, 2002. Donal Lee Bell, 69, of Mountain Home, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Elmore Medical Center hospital. No services were held. Cremation was under the direction of Summers Funeral homes, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

The Mountain Home Tiger cross country team finished ninth at the Gary Ward Classic Cross Country Meet at Nampa's Lakeview Park. Nampa won the meet with a score of 48.
