Harriers finish 9th

The Mountain Home Tiger cross country team finished ninth at the Gary Ward Classic Cross Country Meet at Nampa's Lakeview Park.

Nampa won the meet with a score of 48. Centennial was second with 70, followed by Vallivue with 87, Eagle with 115, Borah, 117, Caldwell, 136, Meridian, 243, Emmett, 247, and Mountain Home, ninth, with 261. In all, 15 teams competed at the meet.

Brandon Sloan led the Mountain Home effort, finishing ninth with a season best time of 17:28. Scott Riley came in 29th, with a season best 18:22. Lawrence Johnson came in 66th, with a season best time of 19:25. Tim Whitmarsh finished 72nd, with his season best time of 19:42. Keith Bonny finished 91st, and also had his best time of the season with a 21:49.

The Tigers close out their regular season cross country schedule hosting the Mountain Home Invitational this Friday at Desert Canyon Golf Course. The District Meet is Oct. 22 at Eagle Island State Park.
