Girls soccer beats Nampa

Wednesday, October 13, 2004

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers bounced back from a 4-0 loss at Kuna to down Nampa 3-1 last Thursday at Eastside Park.

Jessica Hendershot, Emily Moranda and Jessica Egusquiza all scored goals against Nampa.

Karen Kohtz had three saves on goal in the win, which pleased Mountain Home girls soccer coach Carlos Correa.

"We needed one after the last couple games, we needed to recover, and hopefully we can go into the final two games and put on the same pressure like we did today.

"We've been trying some of the young kids and they're taking the pressure and some of them did very well today.

"Hopefully we'll get ready for district and hopefully we'll go all the way to state."

The Lady Tigers were at Skyview Monday, and close out their regular season schedule tomorrow (Thursday) at Emmett. The District III 4A Girls Soccer Tourney starts Oct. 18 at Vallivue.
