The Mountain Home Lady Tigers volleyball team returned to the win column last week, celebrating Senior Night Oct. 13 with a conference win over Caldwell. Mountain Home 3, Caldwell 2 It looked for a while like Mountain Home was going to cruise to a three-set conference win over Caldwell that night, but the Lady Cougars came back to force a fifth game before Mountain Home got some great serves to win the fifth game and the match...

The Military Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Commerce sponsored a "bubble soccer" tournament Saturday at Legacy Park. The event featured a number of teams competing throughout the day, with players wrapped in plastic bubble cocoons. The bubble wrap not only prevent players from getting hurt, it offered some chuckles to spectators when the players bumped into each other, knocking one or both down, and often taking a minute or two to right themselves and get back into action...

Schools in the Mountain Home School District will be having Parent/Teacher Conferences on Oct. 23. All schools will be in session during the mornings of Oct. 23 and Oct. 24, however, no lunch will be served. Craig "Oscar" Ogden left this life suddenly on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014. He was a loving son, brother, father, coach and friend. Oscar was born on Feb. 24, 1959, to Doug and Marie Ogden. He spent his first 15 years in either Blackfoot or Winnemucca before coming "home" to Glenns Ferry, where he lived out the rest of his life...

Harold "Jack" Jackson, son of Harold and Flora Jackson of Seiling, Okla., passed away on Oct. 21, 2014, at the age of 77. No formal services will be held. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home...
