Aaron Bazzoli says he has no idea why he was removed as one of the two magistrate judges in Elmore County by the state Magistrate's Commission, and was highly critical of the process that lead to that decision. Bazzoli, the former county prosecutor, had been named to replace retiring Judge John Sellman last July, but on May 5 of this year was removed from office by the state commission. No official reason was cited for the removal...

Idaho Congressman C.L. "Butch" Otter will appear at the Mountain Home Public Library on June 24 to take part in the library's summer reading program. Otter will read to children during a special Storytime that afternoon at 1 p.m. The event coincides with an expansion of the library's regular "Family Night" summer reading program activities with the new "First Family Afternoon," that will kick off the program's events that afternoon...

Alan "Pebs" E. Jones, 67, of Boise, formerly of Mountain Home, died May 28, 2006 in Mountain Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am, on Friday, June 2, 2006, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel and burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Ernie and Myrtle Lombard are celebrating their 60th Wedding anniversary. Married in Dillon, Mont., on June 8, 1946, they lived in Pocatello until they moved to Mountain Home in 1958. Their son, Ernie, Jr., attended Mountain Home High School and the University of Idaho and now lives in Minnesota...

Mike and Toni Reynolds were honored with a surprise celebration by their children on their 30th wedding anniversary May 15. The event was held at Carmela Winery in Glenns Ferry. The Lady Tiger Varsity Basketball Program started its season with a bang this past weekend, winning the Silver Division of the Hawk-Dawg-Sader Tournament in Nampa.
