Your so right Warren there is so much history in Idaho even in this area from Rocky Bar to Alanta, to Silver City and all points in between. Most people don't ever get out and see much of it which I don't much anymore. Been on the back side of Bennett mountain more than once on snowmobile or vehicle and people just wouldn't believe the back side of it looking from Mountain Home, that really some valley on the other side.

  • I used to take off walking as a kid to see all the nice junk spots. Hours of entertainment.

I really miss being able to to do that.

    Nice Blog

Yes, Warren, Idaho is a GREAT place to explore and wonder what was happening way back when. So many people never get off the main hiways to see the secrets that are just out of site. "Just out of site" is a world of wonders and secrets!

I've gotten a lot of enjoyment over the years sorting through old piles of iron and wood left behind by earlier residents of Elmore and Owyhee counties, not just watching the critters that still roam the open land.

Before the Interstate was built, the crew I worked with rummaged through a lot of "out of sight" farm equipment boneyards between Glenns Ferry and Bliss. Not to mention the arrowheads we found in the sand dunes along te river east of King Hill. May have to expound on that one of these days.

  • We used to spend a family day down by the river sifting for arrowheads. It was a lot of fun in the early spring.

I found a very nice one once and it was the only one that I was fortunate enough to find.

    Loved the rock-hunting though.

No grave digging for our family in case someone with PC attitudes chimes in.
