  • It may soon be the end of the world as we know it (freedoms, etc.) Obama is out to destroy this country one resource at a time. What does he care? In the end (at the end of his term), he will not live here anyway. He will go to a nice---cush---job in one of the places he has made rich....probably Brazil. Obama is out to bankrupt this country.

He is making backdoor deals with Russia and now he is selling out Isreal.....

This president is a joke and we are the punchline.

  • Obama right now should be who America is watching. We should worry less about the Taliban and worry more about this shlomo. He has an agenda and I am pretty sure we have no idea what he has up his sleeve. Doing anything underhanded to Israel will be our worst mistake yet. Obama. A really bad joke but few of us are laughing. We, as a country, will not survive another 4 years under this administration.

-- Posted by OpinionMissy on Thu, Mar 29, 2012, at 2:51 PM
  • The last sentence of the article refered to says it all.WE will not survive another WAR AND WHY THERE IS PRESSURE TO GO TO war MAKES NO SENSE.we cannot attempt to broker pease and at the same time threaten military action,so therfore we try to look like the good guys to everybody when the world knows we WILL side with ISRAEL.

A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL HAVE AND INVESTMENT IN ANY ACTION BY THE US and ISRAEL,TO INCLUDE THE SAUDIES,THE PAKISTANI'S AND THE INDIANS.....ALL OF WHICH HAVE PACTS WITH US WHICH MEANS THEY ARE TARGETS OF THE IRANENS.I think it would be better if the region was looked at in it's entierty rather than just ISRAEL AND IRAN.

THE Iranens said we will close the straits they no sooner got that out of there mouth when we sent a second carrier group and said it would not be in your best intrest to do that. That secound carrier group is still in place along with a marine amphibous brigade.Given the location of our ground forces and other assetts in the region we are loaded for bear and the world knows it MORE important the Iranens KNOW IT.

OTHER than to start shooting what is it you would have him do?? He doesnt need to tell them anything he has shown them by placing our people were he has. From were our people sit we could make IRAN A HOLE IN THE GROUND FILLED WITH GLASS.WE know that will not solve the geo political problems for the world ,if anything it might make it worst considering how many non combatents will die,Including Israelie's.There is more at stack here than meets the common eye. Please take the time to look at the whole situation understand what is being said and why. Then look at what if anything is gained by another WAR in the area........food for thought.

  • Lamont, Lamont. There seems to be some that relish the thought of starting another war in that region. Until these people understand that going to war in that region is a no win situation, there will always be calls to go to war. Why did we help NATO intervene in Libya? They had no powerful friends. Why don't we intervene in Syria? They have very powerful friends. If your going to pick a fight, remember, you will ultimately end up fighting with the friends also. These friends have nuclear arms!

I understand what you are saying, Lamont. The problem I have is this whole 'behind the back' thing. This was suppose to be the most transparent administration in history, per Obama. Only to find out he is making secret deals with the Russians and possibly leaking info to deter Isreal.

I don't think we can look like the 'good guy' if we can't be trusted. How can we look the 'good guy' if our enemies and allies don't know if the stuff that is coming out of the Presidents mouth is the truth or just something to appease for the peace process?

  • Mike, the 20 thousand jobs are temporary, not permanent. Canada is not a local source of oil. They just want to get their oil to the open market. Why drill in the artic with all the oil in the Dakotas? There is no cheap oil to be found in this country. The market speculators will continue to drive up the price of oil. OPEC will continue to set a base price and enforce it through their production cuts. The free marketers will not stand still for any controls on where American oil can be sold, and we will continue to pay world market prices.

Remember, the oil companies have zero allegiance to any country.

  • KT...there is not one not one including PRES REGAN THAT PUBLICLY TOLD THE WHOLE TRUTH.That is what politics is about.I DONT HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT.BACK ROOM DEALS ETC IF THERE WERNT ANY WE WOULD BE AT WAR NOW,funny how those guys learn what the presidency is about after they get there. What I am saying is unfortunatly he found out. They say what they have to say to cover there butts at home and then do what they have to to maintain the world.Like I said the world can see how we are positioned and it is NOT for PEASE.We have more fire power positioned in the straits of homuz than at any time since we have been there. What is happening here is not even a fair game of chicken.Iran is out of it's league and it has no friends that is the point and they cant stand alone and they know it.They could sacrifice there butts to make a point but they won't.ALSO the Iranen people are some of the most progressive in the mid east,It's there leaders that are crazy. The leaders are ideologes to the highest degree and will slaughter there own to maintain power but that is not going to last another decade.

Think about this if they wanted a war the time was when we were busy with Iraq. They cannot sustaina war effort at all and they know it.The missiles they threaten Israel with WILL NOT DO THE JOB AND WE HAVE BEEN SUPPLYING Israel with the technology for anti missile defense and it will come on line probally within the next 6 months.Iranen window of oppertunity is just about closed. Now if martreydom is what they want they can get that and not a lot more.Israel sabre rattling has slowed them down they have to disperse so much they cant get it done fast. They cant assembly and test because of the dispersal they are using threats as a means to and end. There are bigger threats to ISRAEL THAN IRAN,JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT IN THE NEWS does not mean they arnt there.......LAST I WOULD BE WILLING TO BET LITTLE IS BEING SAID THAT THE ISRAELIES ARE NOT BEING INFORMED ABOUT.....THAT IS HOW THE GAME IS PLAYED..........MORE FOOD FOR THOUGHT. EVERYTHING I HAVE SAID HERE CAN BE GLEANED FROM VARIOUS PUBLICATIONS.

  • By the oil companies own estimates, in order to make it profitable to get oil from the fields in the Dakotas, oil has to be above 70-80 dollars a barrel.

We not only refine all of our own oil, but oil be import just to refine and resell. The is no lack of refining ability. Until the day comes that we can block the export of American oil by the oil companies, then not a single well on public lands!

You may be willing to sell our souls for 30 pieces of silver, but many of us aren't! We are Nationalist! Those that would sell out our natural resources show no allegiance to this country, just the almighty dollar!

  • Mike, those jobs are 18-24 months.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Thu, Mar 29, 2012, at 7:04 PM
  • Interesting Mike. You seem to be in favor of nationalizing the oil industry like most major producers did a long time ago. Foreign oil companies over there have to form partnerships with the state oil company and can't own more than 49%. That entitles the state to 51% of the profits for the people. Have you ever heard about the royalty checks the Alaskans get every year because of the royalties big oil has to pay to drill on state land? People like Buckshot would give our land to the oil companies, they would take the oil and sell it back to us at what ever the market will bear.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Thu, Mar 29, 2012, at 7:30 PM
  • Oh yes they are Buckshot, and paying 1 thousand bucks a month for a ratty apartment, if one can be found.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Thu, Mar 29, 2012, at 7:32 PM
  • Buckshot, I have never once heard you say a word about how the oil companies and speculators are raping this country., You just say drill drill drill. Yea, give our country to the oil companies and speculators. Your version of free enterprise sucks!

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Thu, Mar 29, 2012, at 7:45 PM
  • Have you ever uttered on these blogs, American oil for Americans? I have. More than once.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Thu, Mar 29, 2012, at 8:00 PM
  • YES IT IS!! They are making big oil pay big time for THEIR oil.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Thu, Mar 29, 2012, at 8:09 PM
  • And it also ticks me off that the oil companies said, let us drill up there so we can help reduce this countries dependence on foreign oil, and then sell OUR oil to foreigners because they will pay more. Doesn't that bother you?

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Thu, Mar 29, 2012, at 8:12 PM
  • There you go Mike. Just read Buckshot's answer to me.

Yes I am saying that we as a nation have every right to say how much of OUR oil is exported, where it is exported to, and how much WE have to pay for OUR oil.

With the exception of us, the Canadian's and the English, virtually every other major producer of oil has taken control of their resource. They use their resource to take care of their people. What a freaking concept!

Mike, just read his whole answer. See who and what he supports. It sure as heck isn't the everyday American as far as I'm concerned.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Thu, Mar 29, 2012, at 8:55 PM
  • And I do not support the position of selling our oil to the COMMUNIST! That is selling out America!

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Fri, Mar 30, 2012, at 5:21 AM
  • How very American of you Buckshot. You would gladly make Americans compete with the Communist for our own oil. What next? The food we eat?

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Fri, Mar 30, 2012, at 6:03 AM
  • I am sick and freaking tired of those who drape themselves in the American flag, and then want to sell us out to the Communist!

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Fri, Mar 30, 2012, at 8:17 AM
  • I always have been Mike. To tell you the truth, as far as I'm concerned, not a single candidate running for President wouldn't sell us out for enough money!

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Fri, Mar 30, 2012, at 9:00 AM
  • Roy you said: "With the exception of us, the Canadian's and the English, virtually every other major producer of oil has taken control of their resource. They use their resource to take care of their people."

Maybe you could expand upon that and tell us of those other countries that are major oil producers that are using their revenue to take care of their people. Russians taking care of their people, China taking care of their people, Saudi taking care of their people, Iran taking care of their people, Irag taking care of their people, Brazil takiing care of their people.

From the list I think I'd prefer to live in the countries that did not take over the oil industry.

    Just my opinion.

-- Posted by arsenal on Fri, Mar 30, 2012, at 9:55 AM
  • I'm sick and tired of socialists pretending their not communists. Socialists are only one step below communists. The only difference being that communists use force to control people.

-- Posted by Second Wind on Fri, Mar 30, 2012, at 2:03 PM
  • I suppose everyone would be just as happy as can be for us to have to bid against the Communist for our OWN oil. When do we stop sell this country out to the highest bidder, whether Big Business or the Communist?

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Fri, Mar 30, 2012, at 4:35 PM
  • I know dog, I'm done with those that would sell us out to the Communist.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Fri, Mar 30, 2012, at 5:39 PM
  • I'm with Buckshot, you make a product, you sell it. How else do you suggest this country try to pay off its enormous debt incurred by all these social programs and endless wars? But, then, I don't expect a bunch of socialists to understand how capitalism or the free market system works.

-- Posted by Second Wind on Fri, Mar 30, 2012, at 6:42 PM
  • That's right SW, pump our oil out of our ground and sell it to the freaking Communist while gouging us. That really makes sense.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Fri, Mar 30, 2012, at 6:54 PM
  • You wonder if he's trying to PURPOSELY deplete us of resources? I have seen that as one of his goals for at least 2 years!
