I don't know why this would make anyone upset. The guy who sleeps in the White House, I refuse to call him president anymore, is just trying to be the best muslim he can be.

  • Never mind the dollars restoring Christian churches in foreign lands. That doesn't count. Right?

Since both of you are convinced that the President is Muslim, well I'll leave it there.

Roy, at last check, we weren't at war with Christians. Back to the topic, why must muslims be so insensitive to build a mosque at that site? Why doesn't anyone have the kahonas to say that it is wrong? Why are we made to feel that if we do say something, then we are filled with hate. Just to answer any questions there are out there, I HATE the muslim religion. I don't personally know any muslims so, I can make up my mind on them yet.

MsM, I went ahead and read the blog you linked. I'm not sure why you referenced it though. Here is what it says about your man in the White House:

On top of this unsettling pattern of attempts to disregard the Constitution, President Obama boasted about an expansion of the faith-based initiative program last week at the National Prayer Breakfast. And in the last year alone, the administration has awarded Catholic Charities over three quarters of a billion dollars in grants.

Like the Founding Fathers before him, the Obama administration should be working to protect First Amendment principles, not undermine them by using public money to fund religious institutions.

Hahaha! I got a good chuckle out of that Buckshot, and so true.

Roy, I checked out the link and those were some interesting facts. The liberal Huffington Post would have you believe that the mosque is not near ground zero. In fact, according to their measurements, it is only 500 feet from it! So close, that you would be in violation of most domestic violence orders if your spouse was at one or the other.

I like the last interesting fact that the Huffington Post points out. They try to make this one sound so sweet and nice: "Muslim prayers are already taking place right on the edge of the construction site, and not for world domination. Families are going there to pray -- for the souls of the dozens of innocent Muslim victims who died on September 11."

What about the innocent non-muslim victims? They don't care about them? The Huffington Post kind of proved my point about these people.

    Thanks for the link, Roy

I put that link out there to show you that Obama wasn't just giving money for Mosques. I provided the link so you could see that he gives grant money to all faiths. Giving grant money to churches has been going on long before President Obama was in office. Not only do they all receive our tax money they are exempt from having to pay taxes. Check it out, I even found a site where you can download an application for your church to get some grant money.

By the way the Mosque in NY isn't getting built at Ground Zero. Muslims have always been in that area doing business however the Mosque you speak of is being built 2 blocks away and you really can't see Ground Zero from the site.

My son Guarded Ground Zero after 911 happened.

MsM, the link that you posted states that what he is doing is wrong, regardless of what faiths the money is going to. And it also says he has a pattern of disregarding the Constitution. I personally agree with the link, thanks for posting.

As for the mosque, check Roy's link. It shows it's only 500 feet from Ground Zero.

  • KT I know what it says but why wasn't that practice of giving our tax money to support churches done away with a long time ago? He hasn't done anything different then other Presidents have done in the past. Democrat or Republican

I'm sure its more then 500ft however I'm not sure how long their blocks measure either.

  • Buckshot no I have never taken any Hot Air Balloon Rides but I do know a couple guy bloggers on here who could be identified as wind bags

MsM, wouldn't you want a President who does the right thing and adheres to the Constition? I for one would like someone in there who doesn't do the same crap just because others got away with it. You didn't state any facts on how long it has been going on or who the other Presidents were so, I can't address them.

As far as the mosque, how can you be sure it is more than 500 feet but, not be sure how far it is? According to Roys link, they measured it out and even walked it and it was roughly 1/10 of a mile..... or roughly 528 feet.

If it is unconstitutional, it should stop. The excuse that it's been going on is ludicrous rubbish. If it wasn't unconstitutional, I'd possibly accept funding for Christianity, and wish it was in the U.S. .... but for a Mosque .... I'm not a swearing woman but by all that's Holy......

And a Mosque at ground zero or 528 feet or however long .. makes me spit nails. Talk about a slap in the face.

I'm so disappointed in any arguments trying to justify.

    What are you thinking?

If someone came in MY YARD ... ABUSED OR KILLED JUST MY ANIMALS, LET ALONE FAMILY, THEN WANTS TO BUILD A DOG HOUSE NEXT DOOR, WELL, I'M LOADING UP & TAKING AIM

    I'm done

  • KT here you go some info on church and tax money

I'm sure its been going on much longer then this story shows.

    http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/rightsandfreedoms/a/bushchurch.htm

I'm not sure what your saying, are you saying you expect Obama to fix everything past Presidents messed up in his first term in office?

We might expect him to not continue...

MsM, I would've liked him to take care of his own mistakes for starters.

How about what Jessie and Buckshot said? If it offends so many Americans for the mosque to be there, why do you bend over backwards for a religion that hates you?

I'm done with this debate. Your comments make my eyes bleed.

  • MsM:'

I must respectfully respond to your comments.

If you contract to do a job and tell everyone that you will complete said job in the time allotted, your word should be your bond, No Excuses.

EVERY President has inherited one mess or another from the previous one. NO One guarantees that you will have 8 years to get the job done. Only the 4 years that you were elected to do.

Let Mr. Obama take his punches. He has certainly earned them. He is not entitled to 8 years, he was only elected for 4 at the present time. If he wants more time, he has to prove to the American people that he has earned it, just like everyone else who has been elected before him.

Quit blaming everyone else and most of all quit campaigning on the TaxPayer's dime.

It is not our fault that he refuses to adhere to common sense. We have a right to be concerned when the wheels wobble and there are quality control issues.

It is just like when people come into our office and fill out an application for a job. We don't guarantee an interview, just because they showed up, nor do we guarantee a job just because they filled out the application.

Again, I say, no one has guaranteed Obama anything more that 4 years to do the job that he was elected to do. If he didn't get anything accomplished in that time, he has to take his failure to the voting booth just like every other incumbent President did before him.

Harry Truman didn't whine and cry when he got handed FDR's job and found out about the atom bomb. He simple rolled up his shirt sleeves and went to work.

At some point, someone needs to say enough is enough.

I saw an interesting conversation last night on Facebook. At first it was a bit confusing because it looked nearly like THIS conversation. The people having this conversation were in GA. I only happened to see it because a friend of mine was in it. She and I have NEVER talked politics, AT ALL. But she has the same views I do, and more. I found reading the convo, that she is quite a bit more political than I am. (If you know me, that doesn't take much)

What I found ccool was that there were several talking common sence, and a few just throwing things out there that are more emotional and taunting than reasonable. Just like here.

Very happy to find that she holds the same views as I do, and that she is very "common sence"

It gives me more hope that MR. Obama will NOT retain office

  • Buckshots joke is at least two years old, and the first time I heard it, it was aimed at the democrats. Imagine, took two years to turn it over on the republicans. Kinda like the media huh?

  • As I said before on another blog, if you libs love socialism so much, move to a socialist country - there's plenty of them, and leave this country the way the founding fathers intended it. We "conservatives" still want to be free and not have the government invading every aspect of our lives. You watch, the next "project" will be trying to control the food supply and telling us what food we can eat, abolishing people's right to have home gardens and raise animals in their yards. It's already starting to happen. You libs need to wake up before its too late.

What's scary to me, is that some just don't see how our Freedoms are being taken away, bit by bit. Defending it to the point that I see is so strangely sad. I don't get it!

I always equate it to my own personal home. My house, my rules. You don't like it, that's ok, you go ...I stay.

My country, my rules should apply also. So simple

-- Posted by jessiemiller on Wed, Mar 7, 2012, at 1:21 PM
  • Dog, I'm curious, what is it you think we non-libs ought to wake up about? Be specific, I'm really trying to understand here.
