    Zook -

You were in Vietnam at the same time as John McCain. Is it possible that both you and he survived due to a recognition of your individual awareness of the ACTUAL threat to SURVIVAL?

While you and McCain were in Vietnam, a young Marine from Mountain Home, Idaho was killed by "small arms" fire. He was my neighbor and I took him to catch the bus for his trip across the ocean, because his father and mother could not bear to let him go. Yet they had agreed with the juvenile judge who gave Bob the choice between the USMC and a local detention center.

While you, McCain and PFC Robert Yagues were "in country", Warren Hostetler was at HOME, living up to the PROMISE I made to my father on his death bed on July 22, 1965. That promise was for me to take care of my younger sister, my Mother, and my Aunt and two young cousins. The aunt and cousins lived a few houses away while their loved one was serving with USAF in Korea. The promise about my aunt and her children was QUALIFIED with "until your uncle comes home." (Dad's words, not mine.)

I was working 10 hours a week for $1.25 an hour and that $12.50 a week let my mother manage a household. It also left me with enough money in my pocket to play a few 10 cent games of pinball or buy patches for my bicycle tires so I could get from school to the job.

Things were TOUGH on the HOMEFRONT too my friend.

By the way, the JOB was considered a government "hand-out" by many, passed by a Democratically controlled Congress and Administration. It was I believe, one of those "UNFUNDED MANDATES".

  • I am starting to like Santorum. He isn't my first pick, but he seems pretty level-headed on most issues.

Rhetoric and Nonsense have been spouted by both parties ad-nauseum. (sorry, I misspell that word). I want them all to shut up and do something constructive.

  • If Santorum had his way he would ban contraception's and make all abortions illegal. Can you imagine all the unwanted baby's that will end up custody of the state.

  • Oh yeah that's right their all going to abstain from sex LOL! No contraception, No sex !

  • Gosh something just popped into my head

Charges were leveled at several members of Reagans administration back in the late 80's for their role in the Iran-Contra affair including Robert McFarlane along with John Poindexter, Caspar Weinberger, Oliver North who pled Guilty and Elliott Abrams. All were pardoned by George H Bush

Do you really think Holder will resign? Ha Ha ! I would say No he won't not when he had role models...

  • We certainly don't want to bring up old wounds from the Reagan years. After all he is your Hero !

And talking about BUSH either one of them. It's a big NO No!! Yup we got to concentrate on Obama!! Sure will!

Economy is improving, more people are getting jobs.

Oh gosh that's right we got to play that down and send out baloney emails to each other discrediting the economy surge upward...

  • Obama was pretty naive when he came into office. I truly believe he didn't know what he was having to face when it came to the Republicans rejecting everything that he tried to do. The public has seen through that, and they're only blaming the demos a little, their blaming the Republicans the most. That's why you will see your change coming but not the way you envisioned it......

  • Yeah I am so sorry to think that 2 wrongs could make two wrongs......

  • Aw kims blog.........and then remember Ger Smith who said Obama was satan? Speaking of him I might send him an email and see how he is doing. We go back and forth in emails from time to time but not for awhile. Guess I will look him up and see what happened to the world ending....he was also one of those that predicts the end of the world because of Obama.....lol!

As far as government transparency goes, I'd have to give the current adminstration AND congress both A+.

You can't get much more transparent than NOTHINGNESS...

And while they've been doing nothing, PEOPLE, Lots of them, are figuring out what really happens inside the Beltway......

Maybe they did us a favor..........
