  • Here's some info about your Hero Reagan and he never balanced a budget. This link should give you info on the other Presidents as well.

I tell students in my school, and those I teach riding. If something isn't working, you have the opportunity to try something different to get a different result.

Or, what YOU'RE doing isn't working, go ahead and do what I told ya!

    Good one Mike

  • Ms Marylin: Something tells me you need to have a budget before you can balance one.

  • A budget has been submitted now. Lets see the house do something!

  • If you took a look at the link I posted, that's what it says. Reagan never balanced a budget.

There's more Presidents on there, I will look later when I have more time :)

Idaho Al Are you saying Reagan never had a budget to balance?

Of coarse I see many things happening now because it's an election year. Maybe now they will all work together instead of playing their games.

Obama had a budget back in 2009

    Am I on point?

  • "Idaho Al Are you saying Reagan never had a budget to balance?"

MsMarylin: Did I say that? No, I did not! I'm of course referring to the present regime that has never produced a budget.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced this week that there is no need for the Senate to waste time with something so mundane as passing a budget resolution because, he insists, there is already one in place. He was referring to the Budget Control Act (BCA), the result of last summer's debt ceiling battle. The Democrat-controlled Senate hasn't passed a budget in more than 1,100 days, an outrageous dereliction of duty, yet Reid is clearly satisfied with the situation. The Democrat leadership has instead relied on a series of continuing resolutions that prevented the government from having any fiscal focus or responsibility. A full budget resolution offers a long-term plan for government spending and sets priorities for funding programs. It's also required by the Congressional Budget Act of 1974, passed, incidentally, by a Democrat Congress. Democrats aren't interested in reining in spending, however, only in raising taxes for the continued growth of government.

Only the 0bama regime can be so irresponsible.

  • MsMarylin said, "Obama had a budget back in 2009."

That was a spending request by President George W. Bush to fund government operations for October 2008-September 2009.

    "Am I on point?"

Not that I can see. Try again.

  • Idaho Al I guess you didn't like my link which showed Obams's 2009 budget plan

Here you go, here's another link

    http://money.cnn.com/2009/02/26/news/economy/obama_budget_outline/index.htm

Am I on point now? LOL!

  • MsMarylin: That's essentially the same thing you showed before. A budget plan is far from a budget. Still not on point. Show me a legislative approved budget - one signed by a President. That would be a budget - not a plan.

  • Good or bad intentions for the economics of our nation haven't helped us much for the past few years.

  • Idaho Al

Omabas plan would of had to pass congress before he could sign it and we all know what congress has been doing since 2009 "NOTHING" maybe now in this election year, we will finally see something happening.

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Fri, Feb 10, 2012, at 10:54 PM
  • MsMarylin: Yes, I do know what congress has been doing. Stacking bill after bill in front of Harry Reid's door, never to be seen again. Ole Harry is the biggest bottleneck congress has ever encountered.

  • A budget for 2010 and 2011. The man did his Constitutional duty. Go look for someone else to blame. Pelosi-Reid would most likely make a good start. The man may be President, but the Democratic members of the Congress are not his slaves. The present House speaker can't manage to get consensus from his party.

    Bash, Bash, Bash.

    Yak, Yak, Yak.

    They all suck!

  • I only posted those 2 links because I am sick and tired of "Obama hasn't had a budget in "x" years.

People seem to forget, he can only propose a budget, not pass it.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Sat, Feb 11, 2012, at 7:09 AM
  • All I said was he did his Constitutional duty and proposed a budget. There is no Constitutional duty to propose a balanced budget. Both sides of the aisle, Liberal and Conservative, have failed to pass a balanced budget for decades. Want to start a war?? Borrow the money, that's what was done, didn't hear any whining about balanced budgets then.

If the term whining offends, sorry, but it's the only term I could think of that would pass Brenda's careful eye.

  • Buckshot, the President doesn't pass the budget.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Sat, Feb 11, 2012, at 8:55 AM
  • Never did.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Sat, Feb 11, 2012, at 9:08 AM
  • They have the option of changing it. After all, all spending bills originate in the House.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Sat, Feb 11, 2012, at 10:52 AM
  • I have no problem with a balanced budget. Everyone wants one, or so it seems. It also seems no one wants more taxes. So, once again, which programs? Be specific, Mike and Buckshot. How do we eliminate 1.3 TRILLION in deficit spending in 1 budget? or 2 or 3 or 5???

Seems like every time I ask this question, no one can give me a straight answer.

  • Anyone that uses Wikipedia or the NY Slimes as a reference immediately raises my antennae to a hard core liberal. Wiki is about as reliable as Snopes. I shouldn't have to mention the propaganda arm of the current regime, which includes CNN, MSNBC, and the NY Slimes, among many others.

Talk about constitutional duty? Any budget proposal submission that is "pie-in-the-sky" ridiculous has to be immediately labeled DOA. A constitutional duty should require some semblance of reasonableness. Otherwise, you are just wasting time/man-hours in preparing such trash. But then, I suppose any reasonable budget that got passed by the House (even if approved by the Senate, which would be doubtful) would be vetoed by the usurper-in-chief.

  • Still no answer Buckshot, be specific as I requested.

I'm curious what TV news programs do you like and what web site do you believe gives accurate info?
