Hey Zook, Do you do your own work? Auto body and paint?

Very nice cars, I really like the old DeSoto and that Cougar would be fun.

I have been into cars all of my life, Mopars mostly. I can make'em go fast but the making them pretty is way above my patients and cash level.

    Nice Job,

    Grumpy

  • Zook, I really enjoyed these pictures and stories of yours and Donna's cars. Several of them bring back some wonderfully vivid memories. A close friend, my mother-in-law's boyfriend, had a '67 Cougar back in the late '60s and into the mid '70s. He, and I, rode in it lots of times. I bought a '56 Dodge Texan in the late '60s; same color of the DeSoto that Donna has. I didn't keep a car for long periods of time. I drove 'em until they were used up and traded 'em. I also wish that I had several of them back! I had a '53 Jaguar coupe, black, with a white rag top. Straight '6', twin overhead cams, 2 side draft carbs, 13 quart crankcase, wire wheels, and 4 in the floor, also telescoping steering wheel. BUT ALAS, it was real 'junker'. Overseas Motors in Ft. Worth, TX would have replaced the top, overhauled the engine, and several other little things for about $400. That was a lot of money back in 1960 and just out of high school. I guess the one I loved most was a 4 door 1965 Lemans, 326 cid, 2 speed auto, white with red and black interior. Hey, this is your blog! I'll stop right here!

  • Have you added up what the value of all these fine cars would be today? My best old car was a 61 SS.

  • You are keeping The American Dream alive by preserving a part of the the automotive history, one car at a time.

You are also providing jobs and recycling in a responsible manner.

Tongue in Cheek humor with plenty of admiration added in.
