King of the Cowboys…………Part III

I couldn't think of a better way to wrap up the "Roy Rogers" segment, than to line it up with the lyrics that the late "Boxcar Willie" wrote and recorded...........it was called "I Remember Roy Rogers."

I remember Roy Rogers.........singin' the "Happy Trail"......................

Riding off in the sunset...........with his purty girlfriend Dale

I remember Roy Rogers.....and Trigger doin' tricks................

Pat Brady and Gabby Hayes, his faithful old side-kicks............

I remember Roy Rogers........savin' the rancher's herd..........

Never in a picture show, did I hear a dirty word...............

I remember Roy Rogers........the king of the cowboy stars........

With the Sons of the Pioneers.....strummin' their guitars.......

Well all week long we worked so hard, 'til Saturday rolled around.....

We'd take a bath and change our clothes, and then we'd head for town

To BE with Roy Rogers......it was our favorite time............

Saturday at the picture show.....and it only cost a dime

Well I wore out a "stick-horse"......and a dozen pairs of boots......

Pretending we were Trigger and Roy,  and the fancy way he shoots

Just twirlin' my old capguns........when I was just a boy........

For these many memories.....a million thanks to Roy!
