    So true Mike.

I'm voting for Cain not because he is Republican or Democrat, not because he is black or white but because he is a business man and not a career insider.

If anything he will stand the best chance of bringing jobs back to America and reducing unemployment.

The problem is the White House doesn't want Cain as they are afraid he will split the black vote. It is sad to say that this is one of the things the left is afraid of. It should never be about race but about who has the EXPERIENCE to do the job right.

I think he's full of it.

  • UNTIL now I have on pupose said nothing.

1- HE will not split the "black vote"

2- I WATCH MATHEWS..... I DID NOT HEAR HIM ACCUSE CAIN OF BEING drunk.......

3- ACCSATIONS WERE NOT MADE BY THE LEFT, THEY WERE MADE BY THE PARTIES INVOLVED, THEY ARE REAL THE CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENTS PROVE THAT,TO WHAT EXTENT IS ANYBODY'S GUESS.

4- MR cain is a busness man THAT IS ALL...... HE SHOULD KNOW FOR EXAMPLE ....CHINA HAS NUKES.

5- MR CAINS RESON FOR NEVER WEARING A UNIFORM DOES NOT HOLD WATER FOR A LOT OF US....AND HIS EXPLAINATION SAYS A LOT ABOUT HIS THOUGHT PROCESS FOR THE BLACK COMMUNITY.

PLEASE do not assume that the left side of the aisle doesnt have some bones to pick with it's representatives, they do.REP RYAN speaks only of bills that have tax cuts at the heart of them, what is it going to take for people to understand that tax cuts targeted at the rich has not created one job never has.Targeted cuts at busness has some affect but not a lot.GET in touch with busness is doing what busness does ....taking care of itself at our exspence, keeping profits at it's max.IS THAT WHAT America is about? BECAUSE IF IT IS WE ARE WELL ON A PATH to disenfrachisment of the old, poor, infirm, penshinors and a host of others who have contributed to this nation but have obviously outlived there usfullness.

While we fight over and ideology people are dying does that count? or are we applauding that scenario and wish they would get it over WITH quickly.

We have crops rotting in the fields,Farmers are going to loose,so are we as prices rise to a level none of us can afford.IT's a good fight as long as you have the means to fight, but that is comming to a close and Rep Ryan is a good example of someone who has, who is in the process of making sure you and I dont attain.

I dont want WALL ST Gambling with my money,if they had been all these years we would have dead in the street now when the bottom fell out.HE just like most of them need to sit down and be and adult and fix the problem or get out of the way and let others do it. I dont care if your right or left you cannot be happy with this he said she said impasse.....I think the right also learned something in 2010......people lie,and then they keep lying to cover the first one.I wont place names here but think about that.

  • The new polls won't be out for awhile and when they come out in about a week you will see Cain fell off the top rung.

Where theres smoke theres fire, It's just a matter of time when this scandal will get bigger.

Like I have said before I think Cain is SLY!

It was Perry they were saying was drunk. There's a video out there of Perry giving a speech and he sure acted like he was drunk! He say's he wasn't but I have never seen him give a speech like that one.......

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Fri, Nov 4, 2011, at 12:38 PM
  • the paper that "broke" the story was not a conservative rag. I find it interesting that it came out just as Cain was rising in the polls and staying there.

Personally, I think it is a "lynching" of sorts. Believe it or not, it is standard practice for all corporations to settle these type of claims whether they are warranted or not.

Nothing any of us can say that will change your minds about all of this, but I can say one thing. The Salem Witch Hunts were based on some pretty flimsey evidence and innocent people died a horrible death. You will find women coming out of the woodwork to make accustations that they have previously kept "silent" about.

Obviously these women moved on and probably you wouldn't have heard a peep if someone hadn't been desperately turning over rocks to see if they could find some dirt clinging to the bottom.

Give the man a break and lets move on. If he has the character that I think that he does, it will shine through with this situation. And it will be a good way to see how he reacts under pressure.

Clarence Thomas had to go through the same thing and you can't convince me to this day, that Anita Hill was an injured party.

  • Well the word is out that the leak came from Perry's campaign.......Don't worry the media has been on their heels trying to find where the leak came from.

This is politics look what happened to Perry when he was on top...... I'm sure they will soon be digging dirt up on Romney and Ron Paul and the others.....

After what this country went through with Clinton's womanizing I won't vote for another one. Good that it comes out now and not after one is elected......

Oh Yeah and look what was done to Obama before and after his election and the Republicans are still trying to GET him ........There was even talk of his impeachment on these blogs........well why wasn't he impeached????

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Fri, Nov 4, 2011, at 1:53 PM
  • I think this is just a trip the left is on to get Cain one way or the other and they will get him. They have almost all the news media, academia, unions, and lawyers lined up against him.

Maybe Clinton's several other cases of harassment are forgotten by some. It wasn't just one or two with Clinton and he hired pros to ruin the "Bimbos".Drag a dollar through a trailer court.

The black vote won't be split because of Cain. But the independent vote may be split because of BHO's far left agenda.

-- Posted by skeeter on Fri, Nov 4, 2011, at 2:02 PM
  • I really don't think that Cain is a womanizer. In the 90's everything was considered inappropriate and it was hard to know how someone might react to something innocent.

Again, I say too, that corporations always settle whether or not there is a basis for harrasment. It is cheaper and easier for them to do so.

If we are thiinking of Clinton and harrassment, I think of Katherine Willey. I am sure that there were many more.

The only thing that I objected to Obama at the time of his running was that no one seemed to know all that much about him. No one questioned his funds for schooling or the years that he spent in Indonesia. Everyone seemed to be enthralled by the Cinderella Story of Electing a Black Man and the Historic Moment that it would create.

Napoleon Boneparte was someone who created a historic moment and look at how that turned out. A few people lost their heads in the revoulution.

And speaking of womanizers. Jesse Jackson's love child seemed to vanish pretty quickly. No one seemed to hold him accountable for the misuse of Rainbow Coalition funds.

No president should ever go to Europe and berate a political party for something that smacks of campaign talk instead of statesmanship.

Leave your campaign speeches at home and act presidential when you represent our country overseas.

  • I WOULD LIKE TO ASK A QUESTION......WHEN did social security become a socialist agenda??.I think that is whats being implied here.IF it offends someone dont pay into it,but pleases dont after this many years try to change it starting at 55yrs TO LATE.CHANGE before 30yrs so people have a fighting chance to put away for retirement.BETTER YET QUITE BORROWING FROM THE FUND.............If people had placed there entire lives in wall st hands a lot of people would not have one now.

I think before fingers are pointed at any one party for there TRANSGRESSIONS I think we need to look in OUR own back yard because neither party is without there crosses to bear.

Neither party has been any bastion of equality,THE THUMB OF SUBJUGATION IS AND EQUAL OPPERTUNITY SUBJECTOR REGARDLESS OF PARTY,SOME WOULD LOOK AT PARTICIPATION AS A MEASURMENT TOOL,IF IT IS THEN THE ARGUMENT IS MOOT IF IT'S NOT THEN WHAT IS A MEASURMENT TOOL.

IT TOOK from 1620 to 1776 to cast off the yoke of oppression and for some reason some people feel that from 1964 to 2011 is enough for some who had been opressed from 1620 to 1964 i am no math wiz but there is something wrong with that picture.

Personally I dont see anything to be offended by in any of the posts here,So as long as your not offended by some truths its been a good exchange.

  • CJW ..... THE JOBS ARE AVAILABLE NOW........Americans dont want them ......and guess what the farmers dont want them, they dont know how to do the job.

YES you have and education, you dont want to work in the fields why would you think others with the same education want to work in the fields .......NOT EVEN A LIVING WAGE....I read in the paper of a farmer paying $ 8.67 per hr and another paying $ 125 to $150 per day and couldnt get any help.nO HELP IS ONLY PART OF THE EQUATION I think you would have to agree????? THIS IS NOT THE 1920'S........YET

-- Posted by lamont on Fri, Nov 4, 2011, at 4:05 PM
  • HEY I AM NOT DISAGREEING.....I WOULD WORK TO IF I HAD TOO...........point farmers dont want Americans they dont work fast enough or hard enough. And we want a lot of things the migrants dont.POINT.....americans dont want the job.....I am just talking about the problems I am not condoning staying home.Americans are not going to sell there homes and become migrants aint going to happen not yet anyhow.

Field work in my humble opinion is for young people that is hard work.I saw this comming talked about IT. I feel for the farmer he could loose big time through no fault of his own. I have a problem with that.LETS REMEMBER MOST FARMS ARE NOT OFFERING $150.00 A DAY.I am sure that is a high side number. The same article stated that some states are allowing convict labor at 8.67 it will cost them more to use them than it will bring towards there keep and they have to volunteer.NO right now I dont have and answer do you ????????????

-- Posted by lamont on Fri, Nov 4, 2011, at 4:50 PM
  • CJW, the 125-150 a day involves 14-16 hrs work, plus it is piece work if the quality is good enough, otherwise minimum wage. Guess who determines the quality? The man paying the wages of course. And tell me, just what crops are waiting to be picked by hand this time of the year?

  • "Those who seek absolute power, even though they seek it to do what they regard as good, are simply demanding the right to enforce their own version of heaven on earth. And let me remind you, they are the very ones who always create the most hellish tyrannies. Absolute power does corrupt, and those who seek it must be suspect and must be opposed. Their mistaken course stems from false notions of equality, ladies and gentlemen. Equality, rightly understood, as our founding fathers understood it, leads to liberty and to the emancipation of creative differences. Wrongly understood, as it has been so tragically in our time, it leads first to conformity and then to despotism. Fellow Republicans, it is the cause of Republicanism to resist concentrations of power, private or public, which enforce such conformity and inflict such despotism. It is the cause of Republicanism to ensure that power remains in the hands of the people. "

"Where do you suggest those millions of people look for a job?"

Run off all the illegals and put AMERICANS to work on farms MILLIONS of those jobs would be available overnight.

  • CJW, it seems your ok with 14-16 hrs a day with no overtime. Am I right? 125 divided by 16 equals 7.81/hr, no overtime.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Fri, Nov 4, 2011, at 6:00 PM
  • The thing is farm work is seasonal! Someone living here working the fields would not have work in the winter time, unless they went from state to state like the Migrants do.

My oldest son worked cutting onion seed when he was a teenager and he worked sun up to sun down, that was back in the 80's. It was very hard work and I remember him always with sore cuts on his fingers because of onion juice getting into the open cuts....

  • I AM GOING TO SAY THIS CJW YOUR COMMENT ABOUT THE STUDENT LOAN.......I would not take offense IF you had not meant it offensively I am NOT really offended....the thing that bothers me was that you discounted the point.......So I'll ask this question ....DO YOU REALLY THINK THINGS HAVE TOTALLY CHANGED IN THIS COUNTRY?????? racial discrimination cjw is alive and well. For some it is easier NOT to see it, for others it is easy to use it as a first line ALIBI.

WE HAVE LAWS THAT ARE IGNORED AND CIRCUMVENTED EVERY DAY TO THE DETRIMENT OF PEOPLE.AS LONG AS THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY WHO SEE ME AS LESS THAN THERE WILL BE DISCRIMINATION.Personally I am a fighter so I GET ON WITH IT,SOME DONT KNOW HOW OR ARE INCAPABLE, AS LONG AS MY SONS MASTER DEGREE IS WORTH LESS THAN YOURS SIMPLY BEHIND THE FACT THAT HE IS THE ONE WHO HOLDS IT THINGS ARE NOT EQUAL.

WHEN PEOPLE THROW OUT WHAT YOU THREW FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN I POINTED OUT THAT EQUALITY IS A LONG TIME COMMING AND HASNT ARRIVED YET. YOU DENERGRATED THAT WITH THAT SNIDE REMARK.

I dont want free student loans I want my son to be able to move forward in life unencumbered by the chain of discrimination,of any kind.To include the attitude you displayed.Would you look at him and RESENT his degree???? because you would think YOU PAID for it.OR would you see it as it is a MASTERS FROM WHARTON.....that I paid for...UNDERGRADUATE ELECT ENGINEERING...I PAID FOR......BEAR IN MIND HE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO QUALIFY THAT.

I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT YESTERDAY CJW I AM TALKING ABOUT TODAY.SO HOW DO YOU SEE ME CJW??? that is the point......think about that before you do that again......if you dont mind......WE DONT WANT ANYTHING FROM YOU CJW EXCEPT FOR YOU TO GET OUT OF THE WAY.

  • lamont bro, take a deep breath.

-- Posted by royincaldwell on Fri, Nov 4, 2011, at 8:32 PM
  • Beets are harvested by machine. I would gladly work the fields if I were paid a decent wage with overtime and workmans comp. When you do piece work you get neither. You get hurt on in the fields, tough. It's your medical bill. The foreman decides he doesn't like the quality of the fruit you picked, you get less or maybe not at all.

All in all CJW, you make it sound like you wouldn't mind things being like they were in the great depression, as long as it didn't affect you.

I have no use for generational welfare, I've stated my views on that before, as well as my admiration for the LDS approach to giving aid to those who need it. I do have a problem with allowing a situation that comes dangerously close to indentured servitude.

Now as far as the quote I posted at 5:20pm yesterday that has drawn no response, if the author of that quote were alive today, and still in office, we would see a much different government, economy and corporate behavior than we have today. I didn't always agree with with some of his views or proposals, but with the above quote he got it RIGHT!

  • Take away the freebees and see who works or starves. Fields would be full of people. I had a son-in-law run off a construction job because he had taken Pedro's job. He didn't even get his tools back.

-- Posted by skeeter on Sat, Nov 5, 2011, at 6:58 AM
  • When the harvest is over and there are NO jobs who feeds the poor? Do we have enough jobs in town to cover those who lost their job out on Base, + those that already live here who have been looking for a job?

You make it look so simple, it's almost as if a magic wand has been waved and poof you have a job!

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Sat, Nov 5, 2011, at 9:03 AM
  • We live in different times now.......Getting a job isn't that easy anymore.... If it was there wouldn't be so many unemployed now!

  • FUNNY CJW I DIDNT MENTION RACE.......I TALKED ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS ABOUT STUDENT LOANS....SO GET IT STRAIGHT YOU APPEARED TO RESENT STUDENT LOANS AND THE IMPLICATION WAS CLEAR.I dont remember ever calling a grown man a boy, that is not what i am about. You direct the word BOY at A grown man it is and insult period.

To imply that working in the fields is easy and that anybody can do it is nonsense, the young maybe the old in those fields die young. It also seems that as long as it happens to others it is ok with you.INDENTURED SERVITUDE....WAS SOPPOSED TO BE GONE AND "pedro" WHOEVER THAT IS, SHOULD NOT BE SUBJECTED TO IT NOR ANYONE ELSE.The migrant lifestyle is one of survival, from there home country, and ours."pedro" give me a break !!!!!!! I guess that is sopposed to be cool.

CJW get overyourself,I state it very clearly it's my opinion.I dont speak for every black person in America and would not presume too.I WILL MAKE AND ISSUE OF RACISM WHEN PEOPLE LIKE YOU KEEP MAKING THE REMARKS YOU DO. SUCH as the cars at low income housing without any consideration or I guess knowledge how that housing works, just a blanket statement.IF you cared were your money was going you would know how the housing worked.I know because I dont want people gaming the system correct me if I am wrong I DONT THINK YOU DO EITHER.To imply that at 60yrs old it is good for you to work in the fields is like saying russian roulette is a safe game. Yes WE WILL SEND THE MIGRANT HOME AND THE FARMER will LOOSE HIS FARM.Then the large corporations can buy him out for cheap and hire more illegals because they can pay the fine or have the connections not to be raided etc it is a vile circle.

We HAVE GOTTEN BACK IN THE BUSINESS OF BLAMING THE VICTIM IN THIS CASE THE VICTIM IS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ALL OF THEM.

LAST REV JACKSONS LOVE CHILD DID NOT DISAPPEAR ...HE PAYS A HEFTY CHILD SUPPORT AND THAT WAS A VERY PUBLIC SCENE QUITE A FEW YEARS BACK,SHOULD IT STILL BE IN THE NEWS TODAY????ANYMORE THAN ANYONE ELSES TRANSGRESSIONS .....MR Cain knew these things were out there SO HE PAYS THE PRICE JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE I DONT THINK HE IS BEING TREATED ANY DIFFERENTLY.We ought to look at ourselfs...is it saints we want leading the country....usaually people who havnt done anything in life dont have something they did wrong.Me personally Id RATHER KNOW YOU HAVE HAD THE GUTS TO DO SOMETHING THAN NOTHING.SO TO EACH HIS OWN..............OH and CJW I dont care what color you are you get racist I will call it.I dont care white or black there all the same.I discharged them all equally.

  • WE dont have a battle CJW......you speak clearly and decisevely .I dont have a problem with you nor am I looking for one.Personally I thought we agreed on most of this garbage,I like you will do what I have to do to take care of my family,I do not care much for those who whine before trying ,and I dont care for physically and mentally capable people who want It given to them with no investment on there part.YES I lean liberal however the principals of hard work and self relience run deep,so do the principals of humilty and charity and they do so without conflict for me, I embrace them both.

THE problem I think I will look at next is the one of the possiblity of war with IRAN THAT IS SNEAKING INTO THE PLAY BOOK AND i DONT LIKE IT.

I HOPE THAT CLEARS THIS ISSUE UP.

  • The illegals working the fields is an issues that is caused by one thing. IT IS TO EASY TO HIRE ILLEGALS and pay them a crappy wage under the table than it is to hire migrant workers from the same countries and pay them more money on the books. There is a migrant worker program in this country to allow people to come here and work. The illegals are stealing jobs not from Americans but from migrant workers who want to work the system legally. The issue with Americans not wanting to work the fields has to do with the fact that the population about those areas doesn't want to work on a farm so they take unemployment. Honestly it is my opinion that if you live around an agriculture area and you are able bodied getting unemployment then you should have to go and work the fields and the farmers should pay the difference or an amount agreed upon. As for Herman Cain and the issue with the allegations. There has been no person come forward with facts. They have been released from the settlements by the NRA and they don't want to come forward supposedly. So basically he was proven guilty with out a shred of proof from and anonymous source siting an anonymous plaintiff. Oh and Herman wasn't privy to the settlement and never signed any papers concerning it. And to the person that said that a years salary at 35 or 45K was a large settlement has no clue what it would have cost for the NRA to defend itself in a lawsuit. 45k or millions to go to court over an allegation. Almost every time the corporation will take a settlement or severance package before litigation.
