“Zook Zone”, the SMALLEST “Minority”

What IS a "minority?"  According to Webster's, the prime definitions are:   "the lesser part or smaller number, less than half of a total, a group, party or faction with a smaller number of votes or adherents than the majority.

That being laid out, I can identify with Lamont in one more area, along with other things that we DO agree on.  Like most people, I've always thought "minority" referred strictly to race or ethnicity.  No it doesn't, and when I look HARD into 2011 America, I find MYSELF to be in the the most "MINOR minority" of all.

There is a photo that has travelled all over the internet for YEARS now.  You've seen it, if you've paid attention.  A throng of people are watching a parade.   Our flag passes by, and the only one getting up to stand, is an old veteran in a wheelchair.  Had I been in that crowd, there'd have been TWO of us standing.  Minority.

I still open car doors and other doors for my wife, and she still gets flowers on a regular basis.  Ask her when you see her up there at Wally-World.  Minority.

I believe our country comes before all others.  Minority.

I believe our CITIZENS come before all others.  Minority.

I believe in my country, not my party.  Minority.

I believe in getting rid of ALL of them, not just the "other side"------DEFINITE minority.

I'm not "politically correct" and will speak out, no matter WHO doesn't like it.  Minority.

I will never "tone-down" from my openly being an AMERICAN.........no matter WHO if might "offend."...............Minority

I have NO USE for people who think we all "owe" them something just for BEING HERE................Minority

And while I've already done my time in 2 very different branches of service, I will never again "suit up" to fight someone else's battles.

It bothers me when well-meaning cashiers and other folks "thank me for my service" because throughout all of those 22 years, I only seem to "have been there protecting somebody else".......while here at home, our OWN sovereignty has been chipped-away little by little.  It angers and insults me, how this government has treated the veterans who've been willing to do it.

There is an acute sense of "right and wrong", that has long-vanished from our culture.............

....and if I could climb into a time machine TODAY, I'd return to a time when it all made sense, and I'd never be back this way again...............

But now it's 2011.......How many of you out there at 60-plus.............

...would STILL stand and fight to protect our OWN country this time?............again---minority because most would sit back, do nothing and hope somehow it all came out "ok in the end,"......and "TRUST our fearless leaders" some more.

I'd trust Laurel & Hardy before I'd trust any of those fools we've HAD back there!  (they couldn't do any worse, and at least they were HONEST!)

I don't believe there's a "minority" in America that is FEWER in number than the one I'm in.

I've always been proud of being a U.S. Marine  (a "minority in itself"), but probably never PROUDER than when OUR Commandant stood alone, in a room full of "five-star TINKERBELLES) and told this administration what they could do with their DADT bill!

I knew HE'D be the "minority" out of the five.  Semper Fi, brother.

That's basically the "Zook Zone."  A lonely place, man......a lonely place.
