This Ain’t The Playground

Now I'm getting ticked off.  I have other things to do this morning and was NOT planning to write a new blog today, but I feel this just needs to get said.

At age 40 or above, I would think that we'd all be mature enough by now to be able to hold a civil discussion without getting indignant toward each other.

Personal remarks and attacks, especially LEWD ones, have no place among people who are SUPPOSED to be adults, and I guess I should use that term loosely, because I'm not really sure I've ever actually MET an "adult."

I go after Obama and Holder on a regular basis, as quickly as the lefties used to go after Bush , (fact is, I've gone after Bush MYSELF on occasion).

I'm going to use Lamont as an example.  We used to work on the same flightline, we're both old vets and have a mutual respect for each other.  I like the guy personally, but seldom agree with him politically.

SO WHAT?

We can talk about airplanes and music all day long and share funny times about people out there that we both knew.

But we're still TWO INDIVIDUALS who are entitled to our beliefs without being called "STUPID, IGNORANT, NAZI. RACIST and a dozen OTHER personally derogatory things.

There is not ONE of us out here who has never been wrong about something.  There are no "PERFECT" people on this blog.  If there WAS, they'd have hung on a cross two thousand years ago.

I don't know who all Lamont is going to vote for next November, and it's HIS business, HIS opinion and he's entitled to it, and I respect that.

When I vote in November it's gonna be to get rid of Obama.  If Lamont votes for Obama, I'm not going to call him a dummy for doing so, any more than he would say I was a racist for voting AGAINST this president.  We're two old warhorses who respect each other's opinions and can truly "agree to disagree" as they say.

We can walk into those booths on Tuesday an cancel each other's votes out.........and still talk about F-106's and Gibson guitars the next day.

On these blogs.............people jump in here to air their opinions, even hoping to "sway" the other folks.

Well......the best way NOT to accomplish that is with the personal attacks.  This is just human nature.  You might have the most brilliant concepts to share with others, and you might actually BE the most knowlegable person to ever ENTER a conversation here.......but the moment those cute little "MORON" and "IMBICLE" phrases come out of your mouth......you've talking to the WIND now, bubba. Whatever point you were TRYING to make is gone, pal. Nobody's listening anymore, unless they're figuring out how they're gonna jump BACK in retaliation.....and the whole thing now, only generates more "heat" than "light", and all you've created is a lot of ill will. One last thing worth mentioning, and then I DO need to get going this morning. A lot of husbands in this world, hold their wives on a pedestal. I know I do. Most husbands will jump in FRONT of the danger of an oncoming car or a snapping dog to protect the "Mrs." WE would rather take the hit, than allow anything to happen to our wives, and we take these things very personal. I knew a guy in Arizona who would punch your lights out for insulting him. If you insulted his wife, he'd put a hole in you, and just walk away.......not thinking anything of it. Our pockets are being picked, gang. We need to fight corruption, not each other.
