The Great “Assault Weapons” Myth

I was originally planning to write this one further down the road, but it seems to be a little more timely to do it now.

Every time I hear that term "assault weapon", I want to grab the walking lobotomy who first coined that phrase and stuff his head in the toilet. In its truest sense, an "assault weapon" could be anything from a sharp pencil to the battleship Missouri. The liberals use it to villainize all honest gun owners. The way it's supposed to work, is to first try to convince anyone who will swallow it------that SURELY there's "no need for anybody to have or want an AR-15, AK-47, etc,,,,,,,,,

Well............the speed limit is 75..............so why do you need a Corvette? The logic is no different.....it STILL comes down to personal responsibility.

SOUNDS "reasonable" doesn't it? Nobody hunts deer with an AR-15........nobody needs one (except the police & the military that could be used against us if the "playing field was NOT even).

So---------If they DID pass an all-out ban against what THEY consider "assault weapons"...........and people actually were dumb enough to turn them in (except for the cops & the hoods).............how long do you suppose it would be until your favorite DEER RIFLE would make the NEXT "list?"

(NOTE:........have you ever noticed how all of the "firearms experts" out there who know exactly what kind of anti-gun legislation should be forced upon us........don't know JACK about guns THEMSELVES........Feinstein, Schumer, McCarthy & all the rest of those liberals who keep pushing US......yet find ways to let the bad guys off the hook).

Well------this "assault weapons" crap is nothing more than a "foot in the door."

Want some proof? After "Slick Willie" got his "Assault Weapons Ban" passed (which cost him his Congress in 1994), Here comes Ted Kennedy around the corner to push a ban on HUNTING rifles & ammo...........(you remember Ted......the hypocrite who's car has killed more people than your gun has.........the puke of Camelot who opposed the death penalty while his own brother's killer still lives off the taxpayer).........To HIM...it made more sense to go after US instead...........(you dirty terrorist you!)

Seems that "Ready-Teddy" had discovered that hunting rifles like the 270, 30,06, 7mm and others.......that are powerful enough to drop mule deer and elk......are ALSO powerful enough to punch through a Kevlar vest

........"Why, goodness sake!........We've GOT THEM NOW says he........these are no longer the rifles & ammo of the deep woods.........these are......dare we say it?.........COP-KILLER BULLETS!! And that's the way he introduced the bill, with several other of his pinko friends on board, which years later would include the current President of these United States.

Fortunately, it's never passed. Yet. In recent years, Queen lib Dianne Feinstein tried to show the people of California how stupid she thought THEY were, by trying to enact an anti-handgun bill, but being ever-so-"compromising"........the ban would only "apply to handguns that held more that 5 rounds.

Bingo.

THAT'S nearly every pistol ever made! And OBVIOUSLY every old-fashioned SIX-shooter!

To illustrate how literally brainless these anti-gun idiots are, they base their potential "BAN lists" as much upon "appearance" as anything else. If it LOOKS like an "assault weapon", it is.

Case in point. Ruger makes a dandy little 22 semi-automatic rifle. They've made it for decades and there are millions of them out there. DONNA HAS ONE! Just a little "plinking" rifle for pop cans and "whistle pigs." OK? Hold that thought.

There are lots of after-market black synthetic stocks with combat-looking pistol grips, scope rails, etc. Under those black "Hollywood-looking cosmetic accessories, the gun is STILL that same little 22. Nothing more. BUT........in California, it's ENOUGH to make it an "assault rifle".........because to all of those "gun experts out there......it LOOKS like one.

It also fires from a hi-capacity magazine.......they're only 22's, but as far as Feinstein is concerned, it might as well be a belt-fed machinegun!

Ruger 10/22.....22 rimfire caliber.......has a 10-shot rotary magazine and a 4-power scope. In MANY liberal circles, THIS is an "assault rifle."

An M-1 Garand (World War II/Korea), and an M-14 (Vietnam era). They shoot the 30.06 & 308 cartridges respectively, valid DEER & ELK cartridges. (But the 8-round clip and 20-round magazine make THEM "assault weapons" as well).

This "BOLT-ACTION"458 Winchester Magnum will drop an elephant, and go through a human like a freight train, but only has a 3-round magazine, so it doesn't "qualify" as an "assault rifle" But you could sure "assault" anything in Africa or Alaska with it!

The point I'm trying to make here is..........you can "assault" ANYBODY with ANYTHING. And it really riles me when the media has "TRAINED" so many un-informed Americans that all of these "evil assault rifles" need to be banned, destroyed, etc.......

The "trained seals" out here echo the chant that they hear so often, and those we know try to "reason" with us...in that......."OH COME ON NOW......all they want to ban are those "evil guns"........they don't want your hunting rifles."

Yes they do. From Kennedy to Obama, they've ALREADY tried testing the waters there.

But putting that "LABEL" on those "nasty-LOOKING" ones often appears to have some degree of "legitimacy".........my goodness......how could you guys oppose just banning those "few selective guns?"

.....straight from Dianne Feinstein's mouth......FEINSTEIN, one of the 535 who've taken the oath to "protect and defend.".................................."If it were up to me, I would tell Mr and Mrs America to TURN THEM ALL IN."

This "Assault Weapons" crap is just a FACADE.

Just like TAXES baby............the more of them they can slip by us.......the easier it become to hit us with MORE!

Most of you out there on the LEFT think that gun owners are just a bunch of paranoid fanatics. You THINK that, because you've been TAUGHT that. Through your leftwing news outlet sources and politicians, it is a subliminal message that most of you have come to accept as "gospel."

No government can ever control a populace that has the means to RESIST. And whether you own a gun or not.......this IS "your fight" as well. The existence of the 2nd Amendment is the only reason we STILL have all the rest of them.

Have you ever thought............just once..........that every time we have gone to war on our behalf, or on somebody ELSE's behalf, it is to get RID of some dictator running rough-shod over people who couldn't fight back? Ever thought about that?

If we were unarmed, WHO..........WHO on this planet would come to RESCUE US for a change, if OUR government decided to become a dictatorship?

WHO?

Adolph Hitler told European leaders that all he wanted was Austria, and he would stop.

After taking Austria, he told Chamberlain that Czechoslavakia would suffice.............

He told Stalin to "chill out" while he took Poland.

THEN he went after STALIN.

...............yeah........"Just the ASSAULT WEAPONS"........that's all we want

"Don't worry about your pistols..........we'll only ban the ones that hold more than 5 rounds.........THAT's a good COMPROMISE isn't it?.....we're trying to be FAIR!"

Yes they ARE made for killing. ALL guns were built to kill. Mostly game, but in time of conflict.............and the government would like nothing BETTER than if only THEY had weapons and we didn't.

Fear ANY government that fears your guns. There's a reason they do, and they are not to be trusted.

If you don't own a gun, that's your business, but keep in mind that you can still come and go as you please in this country, because so many of us DO have them, and are willing to use them against "both FOREIGN & DOMESTIC."

"Big Brother" knows that better than anyone. He isn't stupid.

But he thinks YOU are, and so he tries to convince you all that OUR SIDE is unwilling to "compromise" over just a "handful of carefully selected weapons."

That's right.

We ARE! Because it WOULDN'T STOP THERE!

Just because the President, Senators and Congressmen are elected officials.........that doesn't automatically make any of them more "trustworthy" than YOU and I..............fact is------we ALREADY know that to be just the opposite, don't we!!

If they expect us to trust THEM with airplanes, tanks and helicopters, (that WE'RE PAYING for!), I guess they're just gonna have to trust us with OUR stuff, aren't they!!

It's called "checks & balances"............and it's why the framers did what they did.

"Assault Weapon"......................so is a brick through your window. Don't get led down that road to "Grandma's House", 'cause that ain't HER in that bed.

So you didn't say you were a God fearing person. Do you think God made this beautiful earth to be a shooting gallery for people who get a thrill out of killing animals or humans? Is your outlook for the future "kill the enemy!" That enemy of course would be the person who thinks we should all respect peace and pursue peaceful things. You may be absolutely correct, the killers need to be eliminated, should I buy a gun and help out? I think I like God's idea "thou shalt not kill" what a concept!

Here's the deal "assault fans" Notice how when someone pokes you with their finger you go off like a runaway freight train with your nonsense about our government being that boogeyman "Big brother", Ever see a man in a straight jacket? They usually rant and rave that whoever put them in restraints should have just let them think their neighbor was Satan and go ahead and let him incite his friends to hate that neighbor and carry on with his riot.

When I volunteered for war in the 50s I was prepared to kill "gooks" in Korea, through some chain of coincidence I didn't have to pull a trigger, but I was ready to, maybe if I had there wouldn't be so many of them swearing allegiance to our flag and buying all available property in California desert communities, they do have a nasty habit of raising rent on poor folks. never thought about using a gun for rent control, should I go nuts and start screaming "big brother" now?

hey Mtn homer, nice to make your acquaintance. My sarcastic remark about The seekers of peace being an enemy was apparently 'bazooka mans line as he thinks any attempt to thwart gunplay here in our great nation could not be as simple as Britains solution which is to keep guns in the hands of enforcement. But if you are as old as I you remember being taught by Roy Rogers, Tom Mix, and Gene Autrey, that the solution to bad guys was to stick a gun in their face. Captain America had a big frissby but that concept never caught on. I'm convinced the way to change someones mind is to show them something really good and maybe they'll catch on. Once you blow their mind out with a high velocity bullet it's quite an intimidating challenge to replace his brain with a new one already loaded up with our personal slant on things.

And Bazooka Bill, I went hunting, I was discharged from the Sea Bees and bought a Marlin 30 30 and a bunch of ammo I went up into the Skagit valley in Wash State and watched the sunrise illuminate the snowy beauty of the mountain across the valley. I asked myself how badly I wanted to kill a deer, set up some bottles by a stump and fired away. The rib eye steak I cooked that night was the best possible piece of meat a man could entrap. And as a word of counsel; If you think Big Brother is coming after you-- better write your rants a little farther down the road. Maybe they won't hear you knocking off whistle pigs, actually stomping baby chicks makes even less noise.

What comes through is your distrust of your government. I guess you can trust me because I'll never be pointing a gun at your face. I commend law enforcement for their excellent work. I didn't even know about the British problem with kissing queens, but even Canada has a very low crime rate and hardly any of them own guns. Your concept that the United States of America keeps their politicians in check with fear of armed citizens seems weird, Is that weird? Yeah I'll stay with weird. You may be spending too much time alone stalking something to eat, Heck I even like pancakes for supper. And if we live long enough I'll even help you fix your roof.

Bazooka-- I saw the hot deal on the news it was an anti-aircraft battery mounted in the back of a pick up truck. I don't know how safe we would feel driving around in it, but you could sure shoot the horns off any critter in the woods! Just looked like the clear answer to sniper fire, and surely no politician would have the balls to try to rob you of your freedom.

I think what rational people hope to find is other rational people. You make big talk about instilling fear in people with your gun collections while rational people look at you as if you are a bit too paranoid to be a trusted neighbor. My. ancestors came from England, their government is also flawed but not so much by greedy politicians. An answer is needed but you can't think you can call me a fool for knowing it can't come from killing anyone who doesn't agree with your own quite evidently flawed reasoning. You are correct about the Muslims being pretty screwed up, but bear in mind they think they might someday find a way to kill everyone who won't think like they do. I'm 77 years old fella's I won't be around to see the utopian, government you are developing. The guys that wrote the constitution didn't do it to support folks who want to intimidate others into moving to another state to be free from the threatening nature of the gun bearers, who apparently now (counting the names on the "blog") have swelled to three. Should I worry about bullets coming through my living room windows because I have questioned your lofty principles of force by firearm? Nah-- I can move, you can have your territory but if there are only three of you it's going to be tough to intimidate our elected representatives. Train your springer spaniel to detect ATF agents.

What about Mtn Home are we considered to have tough gun laws? I'm curious as I don't follow the gun laws here and I never hear much on the police scanner involving guns.... I also listen to Boise's police calls and once and awhile there might be a gun problem.

Well guys as you say, I'm from "out of town" And In my recollection I remember a man with an AR15 standing outside the whitehouse emptying his magazine at random hoping to "influence" some polticians. An unarmed passerby took him down ending his speech. Then there was the guy who was just a little more "active" than the average "activist" who shot the Arizona Congress woman. I didn't say you were controlling America, I said you fools thought you were controlling this American. But after participating in this "constitutional" debate, I can suppose big brother has you all under a microscope, Thanks big guy.

Hey I'm sorry I made a bunch of you guys feel bad.

I can't tell you how much fun it has been. This blogging is a kick in the head!Let's submit a plan; All fifth graders will be taken to the morgue where they will be allowed to address a corpse in order to teach the youngsters that yes it's true- dead people actually have no opposite opinions, then they will begin the instruction on how to field strip their piece and how to fire the thing. Then show them pictures of radical pinko whatevers so they won't shoot the wrong dissenter. But since at the same time you are arming the blue creeps that need firepower to do a home invasion properly, now it gets dicey but we don't need law enforcement anymore cause the kids can shoot the blue creeps on sight and any stray pinko radicals. God you guys are fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's add a page to our comic book; The kids by the time they are in the seventh grade have already formed radical whistle pig advocacy groups and spend all their time stalking those who believe all whistle pigs are to be eliminated (Although we all know whistle pigs keep their opinions to themselves) Then it becomes necessary for the Whistle pig hunters to wear full body armor because the way to influence peoples opinions is by what? Sir, respectfully, your idea is to allow everyone not a psychotic anti social thief and murderer to defend themselves with those weapons you think are mandatory to stay alive in this world. The inept politicians illustrate how difficult it would be to teach the general population how to effectively handle the weapon that will save their lives. But you can bet your bippy or any other part of your anatomy that the psychotics will become extremely proficient. My first born son told me something that really is quite profound and true, I quote "nothing is fool proof because the fools are too ingenious" I would caution you against threatening a 2nd civil war. We have a lot of expert investigators working to protect the rest of us who really don't feel the need to blow the guts out of anyone and those guys are really good at what they do.

I'm puzzled how the legal right to own a gun swings gently from a "hobby" to a "civil war" back to a "hobby". After you by some means ,hopefully through the democratic process eliminate all opposed to the idea of every breathing person in America purchasing their sniper rifles or "assault" weapons. That these constitutional geniuses can enact a law forbidding the gangbangers from going to the same store and getting outfitted for an evening of home invasions. Once you outline how to do that then you will get my wholehearted support. But I also strongly suspect that the folks who profit from the manufacture and sale of the weapons, may turn out to be the sugar in your political gasoline, for they could care less, they are in need of more money.

HOMER The blog wasn't about your opinions only and you wanted me to weigh in, so I added something else that happened with guns. It's not like what happened with the guns in Mexico was the first time something was pulled off that wasn't exactly legal. (that's my point zook)

Oh I get it homer you only want to leave comments about what goes on while Obama is in office.....LOL! You don't want to go over other history that was made during any other presidents time in office.

I guess I can't bring up Oliver North either, it's not in your time line..... (wasn't that during your Hero's reign?)

MS M found the same info on the net...WE outfitted the taliban which is now using those weapons and ammo against us.THERE IS AND INVESTIGATION GOING ON TO SEE WETHER A STINGER(us) BROUGHT DOWN THE CHOPPER WITH THE SEALS ON IT.There is also and investigation going on about why Halliburton used a Russian arms dealer to ferry weapons and money that was used to outfit taliban fighters,he also got a free gas card to refuel at our bases .MAYBE WE SHOULD OPEN AND OR ALLOW THOSE INVESTIGATIONS OF THE PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION,WHICH THIS PRESIDENT GRACIOUSLY WOULD NOT ALLOW.....HMMMMMM

You have to stop and think there was a big mess Obama stepped into, years and years of wrongs and its going to take until 2016 for him to right everything.

WELL MS M.....OBSTRUCTION DOES NOT COUNT.THIS administration was sopposed to performe miracles.a lot could have got done if they were not busy fighting FILIBUSTERS and a 60 vote marjority needed after the filibuster etc.I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THE PRESIDENT however this administration has not done anything that others have not.So i say lets have the investigations jail the tortures,the illegal orderers,the theives of halliburton,remove our troops and confiscate all moneys not spent as payment for services rendered,While we are at it start pumping and loading the oil DUE us from Iraq that hasnt been paid,remove all subsidies from NATO nations,the UN,stop FORGIEN AID until we can give aid to our our own desaster victimes.This will probally be a good start......then to insure the middle class survival freeze all CEO wages at pre Clinton levels,return manufaturing to the US,give TAX BREAKS to those company who build ,produce,hire and sell 100% in the us.Tax all products that are PARTIALLY assembled here as and IMPORT.YOU WANT TO MOVE YOUR COMPANY ,YOU HAVE 30 DAYS BYE.then EMBARGO there products for 10yrs.JUST few suggestions at the end of this will be the end of us,but who cares we will be back in the 1950's and some will be very very happy....until it"s there turn.

The jobs moved over seas......You know those wealthy corporations and their CEO'S who make over a Million a year who love America and can't handle being taxed. You know the ones that have more cash available then our Government!

From what I have heard on the news, some might be coming home. Seems China is starting to cost them more and shipping their products back home is costing them a lot more money.....

I AGREE...here is the problem.The cost has to compete with wally world,and you have to be open at the time that is convient for the working people to include the base.We once came to town asked business to stay open untill 7 pm ZOOK they flat out REFUSED.If you noticed the business that are open full tilt at night or late say 7-8pm they have business and are doing well.restuarants,beauty salons the ones that stay open,and some stores the ones that are left.Now that is not the total answer for sure but it helps.

Then like i said you have the capital problem and that is so big it is un real.If a person wants to give up control of there business and be dictated to they can be helped by the big boys otherwise they wait like vultures.

IN your back yard.......how many firearms dealers have you seen here in the last 10yrs??? I know of 4.I would think that they would do ok here so whats happening????????? Auto mechanics????? WE should be raising these questions.Our kids leave because they dont see a future here and we denergrate people who dont want to be the ceo.We saw that in the military everybody doesnt want to be a chief or a general so why are we putting them down??????

We drive to boise because we think it is cheaper. Most of the time it's not when you consider time and gase.......if you are not saving at least $100 why are you going??????

IF anyone thinks I am advocating growth in numbers you havnt heard a word I said because that is not what I am saying..what I am talking about is the cause and effect ISSUES THAT ARE REAL AND HAPPENING NOW. I am not the fed and I am not demonizing I know what they are doing and it hurts small business owners.That is part of why you have to go to boise.......You bulk order or wait till when ever,customer doesnt want to wait 3 days or a week,THEY GO TO BOISE ......WE LOSE. Our paths must have crossed many times as I drive 200-1500 miles a week and have a little over a million miles in Idaho the last twenty years or so. You are so right about the driving in Canyon County. Also off subject I noticed the rants against Rush and him being a racist. Don't we have a president who, along with his wife, listened to the Rev Wright for 20 years or so. They must be racists too, because if one tolerates Rush they are a racist. They certainly tolerated the rev.
