  • Good blog Mike. Please remember my comment about the Commander in Chief spoke to the Constitution, and nothing else. My distastes for Presidents goes much farther back than the last 3. The last one I can remember that wasn't a crook, liar, womanizer or shed American blood on foreign shores without the benefit of a Constitutional war was ??? I truly can't remember and I was a good history student.

One other thing Mike, and I have been very remiss in doing this.

Thank You Sir for your Service.

    From a thankful civilian.

  • If one looks at the extent of hazardous things we were exposed to, it's a wonder there aren't more people in the VA's or maybe they have died off already. Anyone who did a starter-cart start of an aircraft or who handled the expended cart, MXU-4/A, was probably exposed to asbestos. People who worked on bombs were exposed to beryllium, people who worked around special weapons were exposed to radiation. People who worked around agent orange or sprayed with the TMU-28 tank know the results of that. Hydrazine was another special problem. If you handled 2.75" rocket boxes or handled photoflash boxes you were exposed to PCB's. People who cleaned missiles used dry cleaning agents. I've only included half of what I know we were exposed to. The list is so numerous that a troop has to be pretty tough to just live to a normal age after serving. And then I hear some whiner complaining that maybe a retirement wasn't earned. I understand that Tri-care (retirees started paying for health care) when slick willie had a majority in congress and we had a surplus. Beam me up Scotty.
