A Common Sense Approach

Donna was sharing with me tonight about a radio interview she listened to while sitting out in her car during a work break. They were interviewing Herman Cain, who had a couple of things to say that really interested ME.

He said he'd lost a few points after his supposed "anti-Muslim" remarks on that TV debate awhile back. In today's interview, he said he stood by what he said, though. He has no problem with Muslims in general, but would not stand for Sharia Law. He said their "government" is tied INTO their religion, and while we should respect everyone's right to believe as they choose, we should NOT allow the laws of THEIR countries attempt to supercede OURS, and never allow them to force their rules upon our society.

I like that.

He also said some things that bring back fond memories of Ronald Reagan.............he said that NOTHING is "free", and that America was built on "elbow grease". If they want welfare & food stamps, he believes in helping OUR people..............BUT.............if they don't have money or a job, then they obviously have TIME.

And having TIME.......means they can work picking up trash in the parks, volunteering time at the food banks, daycare centers, etc. They aren't just gonna get HANDOUTS, which quickly becomes a way of life. He would make them DO SOMETHING to give BACK to the taxpayers. After awhile, if that was too "degrading", it would incline them to get off their butts and look seriously for jobs.

And there WOULD be more jobs to be had, because Cain doesn't believe in "penalizing" those who hire.

I was still living in California when Reagan was governor, and he was doing that exact same thing. I remember that. California was operating "IN THE BLACK" too!...............it hasn't SINCE, and is now BANKRUPT!

I really like Cain. First, because he's not a politician, which means he ISN'T already a part of the PROBLEM back there.........

and secondly, because as a successful businessman, he knows better than ANY of those bureaucratic dummies back there in D.C., what to DO! HOW the economy works and GROWS. He didn't get to the top of Godfather's Pizza chain by keeping "deadweight" on the payroll, and spending more money than they were taking in.

(Maybe Wal-Mart's board of directors should run the economy------IT WOULDN'T BE AT A LOSS.......I can tell ya THAT!)

Herman Cain (and I've said this before, if you check the blog archives), would be a VERY FRESH approach to that den of thieves back there, and that endless cesspool of incompetence. Cain believes in WORKING for what you have, and not "sponging" off the sweat of your neighbor for the money you "think" the government just "hands out" to people.

Under a Cain Presidency, I cannot picture any group of senators or congressmen walking into the conference room, trying to "blow smoke" by him. He isn't a "rookie" to the economy, or anything ELSE that involves common sense.

I truly think that HE is the one candidate who would NOT be "business as usual."

But as I also said sometime back in "I Hope We're Better Than This"...............I sincerely hope people do not just "subliminally shut him out," because he's the same color as Obama. Again, I'd really like to think we're better than that in 2012, and that somehow in that respect, Obama hasn't made it "impossible" for "#2".

Our PRIMARY voters need to remember that with Obama-----it is POLICIES that have failed, not genetics, At this particular point in time, I'd rather see Herman Cain in the White House, than anyone else I can think of.

He is FRESH off the STREET.........nobody's PUPPET....... doesn't need a teleprompter to tell you what's on his mind or in his heart, and doesn't build a grandfather clock when you ask him what time it is.

It's still early yet, and as voters get to know him more, I think he'll overtake the rest of that field. Hope so anyway.

Man, could you just imagine Cain vs Obama down the "home stretch?" He'd give the Dems a lesson in economics, what to do and what NOT to do......

I think he'd beat Obama like a snare drum......the "Blame Bush" thing is finished, and the liberal press couldn't play the "RACE CARD" either!

And CAIN is a SUCCESS!..........how would the leftwing press HANDLE that?

Of course, he has to win the primary first, and I'm sure gonna do whatever I can to help make that possible. It won't be easy though, because Mr. Cain is somewhat of an "outcast"---------------------he speaks plain English and MAKES SENSE...........the "sheeples" might not be ready for that.

I know WASHINGTON would be confused!

If the Country was to split like that i wouldnt want to be on either side. I just wanna live normal. In a place where people mind there own buisness and stay outta mine.

Well if you think that discrimination is a good thing for an American that says a lot about you huh? And you served your Country......

Maybe your church should be protested?

Did you ever ask your Pastor how he thought Bin Laden should of been buried? I'm still waiting for your answer ??

WHEN DID A BURIAL CEREMONY BECOME "SACRED HONORS" I THOUGHT IT WAS A BURIAL CEREMONY WERE DID THE HONORS COME IN ??????? DEAD IS DEAD BURIAL RITES ARE BURIAL RITES......very few countrys dont honor burial rites........and we are not one of the few....we are AMERICANS.there are things we dont do.

So when they were in a very tight situation and they got on ship with Laden's Body how should we in a humane way gotten rid of his body with out being barbaric

Zook said awhile back that he was going to ask his Pastor about the way he would of gotten rid of the body and I have been waiting to know what he had to say........

They should have put his dead butt in an airplane with a remote control and flown him directly into a famous, muslim landmark. Then they should have rounded up 3 or 4 more and done the same darn thing---right into some of the most famous and well known muslim landmarks.

Obama and wife are 2 of the most racist people in America.

Barbaric? Barbaric was 911. Barbaric is this "war" we are involved in. Barbaric is the fact that we help so many other nations when our own country is in such bad shape. Barbaric was the last election for President. Barbaric is Obama care and how our seniors are treated. I think you got the picture.

I did not talk of rites I talked of the word HONOR i think you should go back and check that.

The seals obviously were ordered to bring back the body or him.So he is dead what should they have done when they finished the dna etc????????.

LAST but not least the ATT gen did his job and that was to defend the constitution and the law.i have said that i dont know how many times. It has been shown everywhere why what was done was done.

OPINION MISSY....what has this president done against seniors? ZOOK i never said anything about respect for ben laden,i lost 2 friend in the wtc.I DONT RESPECT TERRORIST.Unfortuantly 2 wrong wars has changed nothing, in my opinion that is what you should be mad about and the lies that got us there.

There is no comparison between wtc and pearl harbor none.The rehetoric of pearl was used to rally a nation.Pearl was a strategic military move against a military target not and act of terrorism against civilians.And we knew it would happen and were and we did nothing.ck the history.

To insinuate that the left was not outraged at the beheading is a lie so why go there????? i dont know anyone who used culture as a basis for exscuse that action.That was and act of terriorism within itself. Unfortunatly for them they did not realize how it would incite us.

I think that if someone is not hollering the same way you are that you think that they dont care as much,that is not true.MILITANTS in the civil rights movement wanted MLK to do what you are doing he said NO.....he went about doing what needed to be done quitetly and he prevailed,it might not have been with the bravodo they wanted but it got done,forthought provides lasting results and not just REACTIONS.

You might have thought it was a Muslim funeral we gave Bin Laden however after researching how they do funerals ..........Looks like we didn't give him a Muslim funeral after all.

CAIRO -- Muslim clerics said Monday that Usama bin Laden's burial at sea was a violation of Islamic tradition that may further provoke militant calls for revenge attacks against American targets.

Although there appears to be some room for debate over the burial -- as with many issues within the faith -- a wide range of senior Islamic scholars interpreted it as a humiliating disregard for the standard Muslim practice of placing the body in a grave with the head pointed toward the holy city of Mecca.

Sea burials can be allowed, they said, but only in special cases where the death occurred aboard a ship.

Bin Laden's burial at sea "runs contrary to the principles of Islamic laws, religious values and humanitarian customs," said Sheik Ahmed al-Tayeb, the grand Imam of Cairo's al-Azhar mosque, Sunni Islam's highest seat of learning.

ZOOK ...you keep changing the subject....you bring up one thing when it is answered you counter with another completly different thing.

One thing if we had done pearl, would you call it a sneak attack or and act of war ????????? I have always had a problem with the fact that our military KNEW THAT THE JAPENEESE WERE GOING TO GO TO WAR AND WERE ARMING FOR IT,WE KNEW THAT THE PACIFIC FLEET WOULD BE A PRIMARY TARGET BECAUSE IT WAS WHAT STOOD BETWEEN JAPANS EXSPANSION IN THE REGION,WE KNEW THAT THE FLEET BEING AT ANCHOR WAS A PRIME TARGBET AND YET WE DID IT ANYHOW,WE ALSO KNEW THAT AND ATTACK ON PEARL WOULD BE A PRELUDE TO ANY ACTION AND HOW IT WOULD BE DONE,(PLANNED AT WEST POINT DURING WAR GAMES) WE ALSO KNEW THE JAPANESE AT THE TIME HAD THE BEST CARRIERS AND NAVAL AIR ARM IN THE WORLD.THE rehetoric as a sneak attack covered our negligence to our own,and made for a good motivator thats poletics,that is all im saying I am not exscusing the attack,i would have done the same if i were yamamoto.THE japanese government made a decision, as a soldier he carried out his orders.I might add that he exspressed reservations to his government that is what soldiers do to include you and i do.

SOMEONE BREAKS INTO YOUR HOUSE YOU DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO. BUT dont if there down and out go get another weapon and shoot them 5 more times in the back ,that will get you jail time.CALL THE COPS...you probally wouldnt do well in jail.....smile....besides i wouldnt have you to argue with.

Burial At Sea

Burial (or the scattering of cremains) at sea is available to all veterans and dependents, and is provided by the Navy or US Coast Guard. A flag is required, and--if supplied by the family--can be returned. If supplied by the Navy, it will not be.

Because sea burials are done at the convenience of the military, the family may not witness sea burial.

Bodies waiting for sea burial must be embalmed to a state of preservation that will last for at least 60 days. (This is accomplished with undiluted embalming fluid; "stiff.")

A nonsealing metal casket must be used, bound with six bands of nylon. The casket must carry 150 lbs. of extra weight.

Two-inch holes (20 total) must be drilled in the top, bottom, and at each end:

A terrorist can be anyone .........Who comes to mind is Timothy McVeigh who bombed Oklahoma City and he had been in our US Army.........My son serves in the same unit that he did but not when McVeigh was in the Army

mc viegh confessed and asked to be executed that is why it did not take long.There was reason to believe that the bomb went off early yes.Conspiracy of the government can be insinuated were ever you look to include 9/11 bldg 7 looks like a controlled blow.Please we dont need that stuff.
