I agree with you totally. I am continually amazed at how tough she seems to be in the face of adversity.

Did she do anything illegal except be a VP candidate? Or step down from being a Governor after the continual lawsuits were affecting her state's ability to move on.

So what if she quit. Lots of people step down from a job. We do not hound them.

But her children should have always been off-limits. And she should be treated like the lady she is.

There is an unreasoning hatred toward her that borders on insanity. I would be proud to shake her hand any day of the week. I might not always agree with everything she says, but I certainly wouldn't condone filthy jokes about her and her children from anyone.

Lets go after the real offenders who have truly crossed the line of decency.

And lets put the President on notice that he needs to do his job and start doing it right now! He is about 2 years behind on his promises and cannot blame anyone but himself for his lack of success.

Put everyone on notice that they are entering a probation period for their cushy existance. We want someone to get something done besides campaign for the next election!

I wonder if this latest hectoring of sarah palin by the "nattering nabobs of negativism" (pat buchanan could turn a phrase couldn't he) will be mentioned at tonight's republican debate. Any strong tea party conservative had better have the intestinal fortitude to withstand this type of abuse because the lamestream media will go after any opponent of their agenda like a pack of rabid dogs. HEY ....one thing i know somebody left out something or added something.....just for fish and chips....garbage. Lamont, I think that you are looking it the wrong way. Sarah has graciously introduced her family to us on several occasions in order that we could all see how unique each of her children are and how beloved that they are to her and Todd.

She has also introduced the State of Alaska to us in a completely different way. She isn't afraid to get her hands dirty or hunt for game for her freezer. She has showcased the various industries and cultures native to Alaska.

Every other politician has put their families out there complete with plastic smiles. And how many long-suffering wives have had to stand by their philandering husbands as they make self-serving apologies just because they got caught.

How can you protect your children and still allow them all of the experiences that life has to offer? You must squarely put the blame on the media and their rabid scrutiny of this family.

They have a right to be in public places. They have a right to be treated with respect. And most of all they are good kids who don't deserve the spite that has been rained down upon them.

Would you rather that they be kept hidden in a cave until they grew up? We have to be a better society than this. Quit blaming Sarah and start blaming those who make it their life's work to be hateful and mean.

Palin wears big girl pants and she knows how it works. If you don't want your children exposed to the media you don't put them out there so they can be. Heck even her daughter Bristol likes the limelight, she was on "Dancing with the stars".

The Media will do anything for a story, I know that. Look at the rag Mags with their catchy titles.

Most of the politicians are men and they get caught with their pants down on a regular basis. I haven't seen too many women admitting to extra-curricular activities.

The media is mean and hateful. They want a story sure, but some people practically froth at the mouth about certain people.

Late Night Talk Shows and Daytime One too, use people's tragedies and weaknesses as joke fodder and it is just plain wrong!

As for Bristol, she is trying to work for herself and her son. You don't see her at parties or doing the talk show route. Dancing with the Stars invites people on their show not the other way around.

Oprah has a huge heart she gives millions to charity for the people of this country and she has given away big expensive gifts to people sitting in her audience, gifts that most people can't afford.

She has also talked about lots of problems we have here at home, and have brought guest's on to help others with the same type problems. Her show has always been informative, while at the same time she is reaching out to people. One more thing she never had to do it by riling up people to spew hate and violence. Oprah would never had said

"Don't retreat reload"

The first introduction to the nation of a vice presidential candidate's family usually happens at the national convention when they are named to the ticket. It is traditional for ALL such candidates to introduce their families, including children, at that time. Articles are written and commentators mention what a nice family and then attention shifts away from the kids. That is the NORM, but that is not what happened with the palins. From the time sarah and her family hit the stage in minneapolis the republican haters in the media went after her AND her kids. No, no nice grace period for sarah. So don't say she started it all because she did what a candidate always does.

By the way, everything that oprah gave to the members of her studio audience was provides by the marketers of those products, she didn't dip into her pocketbook to pay for them. She just took the credit and the publicity for it. She played the game better than about anyone else. She DID help a lot in new orleans in rebuilding some homes, much to her credit.

Well Palin extended the norm by continually exposing her children to the media. In my eyes she put her kids out there and that should not have happened. She should of protected them more from the media just like other celebrities do...

The Clinton's and the Bushes said very strongly "Hands Off" when it comes to my children and kept to it by not using their kids and establishing a much bigger privacy zone around their children.

Oprah has been generous, but there are so many others who give quietly and without fanfare.

Mother Theresa gave to the poorest of poor and still was able to give even more until the day she died.

I still find it curious that Sarah cannot take her children to a ball game without a talk show host making a raunchy comment about her daughter who was under 16 at the time.

I find it curious that Sarah is not allowed to tour the US with her children and enjoy our country, but we have all loaded our kids into a van and toured the country side. She does not call the media and say, hey look at me and my kids. They come to her, hoping to find a slug under the rock or some other unsavory vermin to condemn her with.

You take your children with you, It is not your fault if the news crews hound your every step. Should the kids never play outside or take trips or accompany their mother on speeches because of the "danger" of being exposed.

Can they not live their lives as they wish? If they found a niche to make a living who are we to condemn it.

Instead, you should watch Toddlers and Tiaras and see where "mothers" expose their children to the pressure of competitions and make them wear makeup and do dances and talent acts that are positively vile. Those are the mothers you should complain about. They are trying to live out their own childhood dreams by cheating their own daughters out of their childhoods.

Those are the reality shows that should be canceled and condemned. Those mothers should be hauled off to jail for exploiting 4 & 5 year-old girls to unscrupulous producers and directors.

I am done commenting on this blog. We still have a media who picks and chooses where to draw blood. There is no excuse for this and no one can blame the parents when in fact, they keep their children with them and don't hide them under rocks until they turn 21.

They don't make them dance on stage with a thick coat of make-up. They are teaching them about the United States and letting them meet people of all ages, races and creeds.

They are not screaming profanities at each other nor do they encourage anyone else to do so.

The darts keep coming and someone is always blaming the target instead of the person throwing the dart.

The media has been prying into celebrities lives for decades and we can't take the way they make a living away from them unless we change our constitution. They have as much right as say Sarah does. The public feeds off of her as she feeds off the public .......

I can go about in public without being bothered by media as well as you can ..........WHY because we aren't famous nor are we out there in the public eye.... That's the price ALL celebrities have to face, it goes with their territory and if the circus isn't for them, then they have the choice not to join it....

I'm sure there are plenty of other people who are out in the public eye that can't do the things we can do on a daily basis.

Look at Michael Jackson he tried to protect his children and the public thought he was odd in putting scarves over his children's heads so the media couldn't see them and exploit them by plastering their pictures all over the television and newspapers

Her give away's on her show didn't come out of her own pocket but she set it up for those people to receive expensive gifts.

It is curious that bachmann was, by innuendo, called racist because she said she would seek the advice of the top brass who actually run the military day to day before making her decision. Yet that is exactly what every other candidate there said, with the exception of ron paul. But bachmann is singled out. As for "strong conservative" being some sort of code for non inclusion, I wonder what you mean by that. I certainly resent any such inference, as I would imagine walter williams, j c watts, herman cain, alan west would probably also reject such an accusation. Does any one know what changes any of the candidates will do if they are elected? What will they do if they repeal Obamacare and how will they make it better? What will they do to make the economy better then it is now and how will they do it?

These are just a couple questions I have had in the back of my mind and I didn't get them when they were debating... I have my doubt if they can improve everything that is troubling our country because they were elected ! This bothers me a lot because I don't see the economy changing just because we could have a new President. How will the new president fix the job problems we have now? Medicare? Medicaid ? The 2 wars? Gas Prices? How long will it take to make these changes? 1 yr, 2 yrs, 3 yrs, 4 yrs, 5 yrs, 6 yrs etc etc ??

How will this administration get grocery costs down compared to how the republicans will do it?

My Uncle Frank and Aunt Rita used to keep a fly-swatter on hand to slap each other's dogs if they got irritated with each other.

Lamont, first, I agree absolutely with you, and I think most tea party people would agree, the patriot act is one of the most egregious thefts of freedom ever shoved down the throats of americans. I've always wondered how that huge omnibus bill just happened to be waiting for an event that would see congress willing to pass it, and most acknowledged they never read the whole bill. Ok here's a scenario A guy has a job, and through his job he can get health insurance. He doesn't buy into it because he don't want that money taken out of his pay check each month... So he gets in a car accident and is seriously injured, who pays? And why should they pay? Lamont, public schools are another great example of being part of "taking our country back" you speak of them being warehouses and I agree, there is so much difference between school districts in different cities or states or even different areas within a single city. The tea party folks mostly favor using a voucher system for schools. This would give concerned parents the chance to get the BEST education for their kids and would force lazy school districts to get better or get gone. My brother was in the Navy in the 70's. He trained for a certain position and when an opening came up, they had two people. They flipped a coin and he lost the coin toss. So he became a cook instead. He wasn't happy about it and it wasn't fair, but he went on to do the best job that he could.

We can't always make things fair and right. It should be that way, but it isn't. David and I are very conservative. Not all of our family is of the same mind. they have some spirited debates but they all love and respect each other.

I will tell you something that most people aren't aware of that the Tea Party has been accused of. One of our senators who happens to be African-American claimed to have been spit on. He wasn't. they proved this through several sources and he had to back down from that statement.

Living in the area and knowing of this person for many years as a mayor and congressmen, I know this to be true. He represents our district. I wrote him an e-mail expressing my concerns about the healthcare bill. What I received was a standard reply that was given to all of us who wrote in and quite frankly didn't even fit the subject matter that was presented to him.

Busy or not, Our representatives in Government need to make themselves available to us and not only when they are campaigning.

People are people no matter what color, race or creed. You have good ones and mean ones. It is always the mean ones who seem to get the attention while really good people are just keeping their heads and going about their business.

I don't know where you grew up or what type of adversity that you faced. I know that I had very difficult time going from being a country girl to a city one. Especially being divorced with two small children and no job skills.

My dad used to stress to us that you have to take people as they are. He would have been the first one to shake your hand in any situation. His mind-set was that even if life was not fair, it was his personal responsibility to be a kind and compassionate person to all.

Most people do not spit on each other or call each other filthy names. Most of us work with others who have different politics, religions or lifestyles.

We cannot take (1) or two bad apples and proclaim that the all the rest of the apples have been spoiled too.

What I learned in HS about some of the people who bothered me, was to find someone who loved them dearly and talk to them to get a better understanding of their personality. It changed my entire attitude towards one of my teachers who always seemed stiff and cold. I still nearly flunked Algerbra.

I think that Herman Cain has said it best when he said the reason he was running for President was because his grandchildren deserved a better future too.

We all want something better for our children and grandchildren. Sometimes we just have to leave the past behind and build a new bridge of understanding with new experiences and memories.

Learning a second language isn't a bad Idea. You can get jobs that pay very well if you can speak another language. Just think about a job speaking another language at one of the Airports in NYC or Washington D C. Right here in town they sometimes need a Spanish interpreter when they are making an arrest.

for the record i dont think anyone DEMANDED black history week....i would have to check.THIS i do know at one time there was a movement to bring forth the contributions in a realistiic light that blacks had made to america.That came from the fact that all our history books talked about was slavery in depth,there is so much more than that people did not know about.IT was felt that highlighting those things during that week would give a more positive image.In my opinion it has accomplished most of what it set out to do however,most people dont know why it was created therefore the resentment.Look at it this way the history books were written by whites in a multicultural society first impulse ie to make yourself look good.That is not a knock on the writters it is human nature.example ask the average kid....who WERE the 9th and 10 th cav. they couldnt tell you..... or who was the 99th pursuit sq,WHO WAS MARION ANDERSON I could go on i hope you get the point....dont want to give a history lesson.

It's sleek and light weight and you down load books on it. I got it so I can download knitting patterns on it and it will be easier to read because I can make the words larger and I won't loose my place.

I haven't used mine yet because I am trying to get caught up on books I'm still reading and patterns I'm still working on. Sometimes I have more then one knitting project at the same time. lol !
