Anybody have a problem figuring out what that means?? Read it again if you're confused.

According to our founders-----THIS is what our tax dollars are to be used for! SAYS SO right there in Section EIGHT of that old parchment our government doesn't USE anymore (unless something in it SUITS them).

This crap of being the world's welfare office has gone on far too long.

No......I am NOT blaming Obama for all of this foreign aid, and the REST of this useless spending that has become S.O.P. (Standing Operating Procedure) in this government).

YES--------it's been going on a long time BEFORE this President.........but as one who supposedly TAUGHT "Constitutional Law"........you'd think that HE at least should know what's in it, be willing to institute a spending freeze, and STOP THE FRIVILOUS SPENDING!

Let's see.....how can I put this where ALL who read it might grasp?...........

Some of our church tithings go out to help those in distress, and we send gift boxes of things to needy children all over the world...........these are called "DONATIONS"......you can partake or NOT partake......your choice.

The guy standing out by Wal-Mart with the cardboard sign (and the Buick parked 3 blocks away).......if you feel sorry for him and want to chip-in, GO for it..........your choice.

If you sucumb to those tv commercials about the hungry people in earthquake-ravaged "Transylvania" and feel moved to write a check......WRITE it!

If you think special tunnels that turtles will be smart enough to USE to keep from being squashed by cars are a good thing.........support it.....it is a DONATION.

BELIEVE it or NOT, though.......not ALL of us are inclined to SUPPORT all of these different college studies, lobbyist ventures and "green programs."

If I feel the need to give Brazil two BILLION dollars for THEIR oil program.......I'll kick-in a few bucks to it.

THIS is called a DONATION.

When we're already being taxed for everything but the air we're breathing (and that might be coming next).........and "our" government GIVES away tax dollars that is NOT for our "Defense and general welfare"......money that is NOT being used for US...........

THIS IS CALLED THEFT!.........it is NOT authorized by our Constitution.....it is OUR money.......and none of US, said it was "ok" to be WASTING it! It is NEITHER our job to be the world's "life support" NOR their friggin' "POLICEMAN."

Washington HIMSELF warned us NOT to get involved in foreign affairs..................but........what did HE know, eh?

My tax dollars are to be used for the education of MY grandkids and YOUR grandkids..........NOT the kids who AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE HERE!

CONTINUING to RAISE TAXES...........as some sort of "cure" for the excessive spending they REFUSE TO STOP, is absolutely POINTLESS!

It's makes as much sense as Dianne Feinstein, that liberal bimbo out in California who thinks "disarming Mr & Mrs America" is going to stop crime, while the real hoods are still being plea-bargained back out on the streets, and being let off COMPLETELY though loopholes.

Lamont asked a REAL GOOD QUESTION sometime back, during the squabble over the school spending, that to my knowledge has NEVER been answered..........what HAVE they been using all that lottery money for?

I talked to an old war buddy of mine just this morning, who lives in Chickasha, Oklahoma. That tornado took the east wall of his house off. If his insurance doesn't cover it, he'll have to look for one of those "LOW-INTEREST LOANS" to fix the damage..........if he was a FOREIGNER living in some OTHER disaster area in the world, our congress would be looking to HELP him, free of charge.......he'd never have to pay that back.

Of course...."That's who we ARE", isn't it!"

Yes folks..........all of these UNAUTHORIZED HANDOUTS....yes they HAVE.....they HAVE been going on for years.

But now the debt is QUADRUPLED just two years after it was "inherited."

THEY......(and I say "THEY"----because Obama can't spend what congress doesn't GIVE him)......are STILL "free and easy" continuing to help the rest of the world with money THEY WILL TAX US FOR LATER!

Yeah yeah....I know......."Well----you can't just blame this administration-----everybody ELSE has done it too!!............

Doesn't fly anymore...........THIS administration was going to STOP all this frivilous spending and corruption.........remember? He was gonna change the way Washington did business.........he was gonna change EVERYTHING..........he campaigned hard on it, sold it to the majority..........and they've not only spent more than EVER, but are fighting every move to CUT back now.

What do they think is going to happen? Do they think the "Fairy Godmother" is going to magically appear and sprinkle tons of "gold dust everywhere", and we're all gonna live happily ever after?

Every time we turn around........SOMEBODY back there is coming up with yet ANOTHER "raise the tax" scheme as some kind of "fix" to all of this.

Except for Boenner and his heavily outnumbered crew...........the thought of STOPPING the outflow of WASTE, has never once OCCURRED to any of these elected GENIOUSES!

Simply..........If I spend money I don't have for crap I don't need, I've got nobody to blame but myself for whatever happens.

When they TAKE our money........WITHOUT our permission, COMPLETELY IGNORE our Constitutuion....and BLOW it to the far winds--------then keep hitting us up for MORE.......

I think we've got a RIGHT to be "more than a little upset." don't YOU? I mean......is FOLLOWING OUR CONSTITUTION some sort of "radical idea" these days? Is THIS "who we are" now? It ain't who I am!

If YOU handled YOUR money the way your GOVERNMENT handles "YOUR money", you'd have been out in the street a long time ago.

But we defend these jackals don't we, they've done such a MARVELOUS JOB back there for SO LONG........it's just IMPERATIVE that we keep re-electing them!

Aren't they just WONDERFUL!!...........just makes ya feel warm & fuzzy all over, don't it!

Might as well just hand 'em the deed and the keys to your house next, and tell 'em to TAKE IT ALL.............You don't mind it a BIT!

And we obviously DON'T......we keep believing the lies, and trusting that they know what's better for us than WE DO!

As Dr. Phil says.............."So, how's that working out for ya?"

...............politics SUCKS.............I gotta get back to what I WAS writing about.

Good way to vent though, and I feel a little more relaxed now!

Everybody out there just have a GORGEOUS day........while they still belong to you.

Well I can top all of this. Every news source reported on live TV that Obama had promised funds to Brazil. They report that on every visit a President makes and what dollar amount of AID has been pledged.

That has been going on forever. If the President hasn't promised foreign AID, the Secretary of State does.

So I guess we are all stupid and don't understand plain English? We know that each President promises foreign aid, no matter what party is in office. But the point is that we need to stop it and help ourselved get back on our feet before we can commit to any other country besides our own.

Maybe all of us who comment on these blogs need to read our constitution carefully and come back another day with what we figured out.

My Government Class in HS, had a great teacher. He told us that the Constitution has worked so sucessfully because of the astute authors who drafted it.

They were true visionaries who were wise enough to forsee future problems due to the evil designs of men. Greed and power=hungry rulers existed back then very much the same as what is going on today.

They did not intend for our representatives to make a living out of being elected for congress or any other office, but instead, viewed it as a

type of service for a short period of time and then to go back to their own businesses and interests.

When you know that the cookie jar is empty and there aren't even any crumbs, why pretend that we have plenty of cookies for all? Why put ourselves into deeper debt for a handful of crumbs that may or may not exist?

The crux of the matter is we are broke and all of us need to acknowledge it and QUIT poking each other about whose party is at fault. Just demand that the people who we voted for represent our interests, not anyone elses, including their own.

So is anyone up to the challenge of reading Our Constitution and coming back for another informed debate?

I've read the Constitution a few times and I've never seen anything that specifically mentions, or for that matter may be interpreted as, a desire for term limits.

I'm not trying to pick a fight here, but there are those of us who wish to use the Constitution as it appears in its final form with no further concern for the "intent" of the framers.

With that in mind, is there a specific question that you propose we debate?

No, we are already debating questions. A good debater does his research.

How is the career politicians working out for you? It seems to me that they basically get into office just to run again and raise money.

If we shook things up and let them know that we are not happy by our votes, it might be a little more different attitude about their job description.

They obviously thought that the 2010 elections were a fluke.

Where does it say in our constitution health care is wrong? Where does it say in our constitution provide for illegal aliens is wrong?

I just heard on the news last night that finally we are going after the employers of illegals. It's about time. You know Bush could of enforced it to!

Fine the employers a big hefty fine and then they won't employ the illegals. If there's no jobs to come here to get then that should slow them down, don't you think?

I just read the Constitution on-line, if you google it there is some very good information.

If we stop the illegals at the borders, then there aren't any illegals for employers to hire. If we ask for identification and proof of citizenship, then we know if they are elgible for benefits or hire.

ID's get forged all the time. We used to have several employees who produced all the correct identification, only to find out that they were borrowing someone's number. You are required by law as employer to verify citizenship.

Our borders have to be protected first and the exisiting laws enforced. Then you will see a huge decline in the numbers spilling over the borders.

For pity sake, we can't feel sorry for those who are here illegally. It wouldn't be so bad except they are now demanding the same rights as citizens including healthcare, employee rights and education.

We've been giving out foreign aid to countries since 1941 world war 11 Franklin Roosevelt was our President..... Oh my and he was a Republican who started foreign aid using our tax money

I had heard that Michelle Bachmann was suppose to make an announcement in Iowa if she was in for the run and was trying to find something about the announcement, which I couldn't find at the moment so I read your comment zook and started typing when pat asked me something and thats when I made the goof.

As it turns out she didn't make an appearance in Iowa and didn't make an announcement. That's all I can find. I was going to do an update on the Republican Candidates as they are announced or if there's any changes.

Making a Mountain out of a Mole Hill

President Obama used the auto pen legally, you see any President can authorize its use. He wouldn't of had to use it but Rand Paul delayed the signing and it was getting close to expire

Here's something I found out. Read below

The Bush Administration's Office of Legal Counsel stated in 2005 that using an autopen is, in fact, constitutional, but never let it be said that a chance to attack the president over something tiny simply to score political points was ever left on the table.

We have so many problems in this country with this administration in office and things are even worse than when Bush was in office.We are headed for harder times I'm sure. Employment has to be addressed now and people put to work. Enough of this constant political drum beat from him, we need jobs and tax relief. We need lower gas prices,less government involvement, and more incentives for nuclear power. These windmills are a joke. They will never solve any energy problems. Keep it up MH.

Question time homer & ammo1 how should we take care of the NO jobs in Mountain Home? What do we need to do right here in our town to open up more jobs? Any idea's will be greatly appreciated.

Don't just blame Obama about signing the Patriot Act

Congress both the house and the senate reauthorized it first and then Obama signed it....

Probably Boehner would of had a heart attack if he said he wasn't going to sign it.

CATCH 22......PROBALLY THE INTELL COMMUNITY.......

PUSHED HARD OR THEY HAVE SOMETHING THEY DONT WANT TO STOP.......my guess would be that we have some paperwork foul ups.ANYHOW IT'S DONE.........

THE blame game alive and well...........

WE allowed the town to be overbuilt and gluttened the housing market ,we refuse to allow any set industry to come here.THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING HERE BESIDES FARMS,AND LABOR INTENSIVE WORK....

Construction is OK BUT IT IS NOT THE END ALL.

The base employes approx 500 civilians and that has been constant through the years,that is not enough and approx 1/2 of them live in boise.....

BOISE business now target mtn home for housing repaires and maint.We dont support our locals the way we should and they dont cater to us the way they should (GREED) THEY WANT BOISE MONEY. WE WANT BOISE CHOICE. This is a two way adventure.

MY band doesnt play here why???????? NO place to play,we only want one kind of music etc.WE had a major music festival we didnt support.....gone.WE had races we did the same too.we use to have a major softball tourney all these things generated revenue,WE LET THEM FAIL.THESE WERE NOT THINGS THAT WERE GOING TO CHANGE OUR QUANTNESS....FOOD FOR THOUGHT.........

WE have done the same thing about jobs......we dont have any of consequence.IT cost more to live but we want to pay slave wages people cant make it on that and if you think they can take out your pen and write down some numbers on bare bones living.take $10.00 per hr job 1,600.00 before taxes and see how far it goes .....you will wonder how they survive.....BAD THOUGHTS GOT TO GO........

What about your Grand Kids Zook if they choose to live in Mountain Home after they are finished with school what job will they get?

Your always talking about the future of your Grand Kids well what kind of future will be here for them?

The cost of living has gone up zook since when you worked in Boise.

The only reason we stayed here is because Pat had the job out on base. After he retired we still had our Grandson to finish raising. I did not want to move him to a different town, and now that he is raised we can't move because we can't sell our houses. If the market ever comes back up and we can sell we will be moving because I don't want to die in the desert. lol !

Actually Zook we don't need to get any bigger then to fill up the empty houses and business stores downtown. I'd be happy with that.

We bought some new carpeting for the rental last year and it was very reasonable and holding up very well. Bought it at cost less carpet and while there I asked about the little girl that does the commmercials. :) We also bought here but when we need to do it again I will go back to Boise.

I think I seen a for sale sign near the corner at star dust plaza. I figured their trying to sell the whole enchilada. I can remember when I first moved here they were in the progress of building it.

It's really scary when you see all the empty houses and business's.

I've had a business license since 04 and thought about opening a business downtown but the over head scares me to much and now wouldn't be a good time so I will just keep selling on the internet.

When i did remodels one of the things that bothered me is i thought that people here charged way to much for what they did.It was like they felt they had a captured audience so they could do as they pleased.That kinda thinking will kill your business.A fair price will keep you working.

THE CARPET THING IS EASY,they cant compete with home depot or boise because boise buys in such bulk and they have contractors to lay the stuff at a set price per house based on rms not yds.That is all they do,and they do it well.They did a house for me last yr in a day, whole house tear out and install 1 day,cant beat that, 3 guys.Now remember they dont fix anything,floor bad or squeak tough.But the price is right.The installers are subs,own equip,trans etc.

BERMINSOLOS HEIRS WANTED BOISE RENT WE DONT HAVE BOISE TRAFFIC. THEY WOULD NOT BACK OFF.

THAT IS WHY THEY ARE MOVING OUT.HATE TO SEE IT BUT THEY CREATED THAT SCENARIO.

I will not vote for that community,I sat on the IMPACT FEES steering committee for awhile and some things came to light,the biggest is we dont have the WATER.and the study that have been done are marginal at best.This is about some spectulators wanting to make as they see it a killing.There are some constructors who see it as a boom, MAYBE for awhile but it is not sustainable.

There is to much inferstructure required water plants,sewer plants,runoff management,electrical power that will impact the surrounding area to include us.That is not a viable project and it will do nothing positive for us.It's easier to shop in boise than here from there,entertainment etc, I say NO.

The illegal thing is being addressed,additional people,fence ,enforcement and deportation,and its starting to have and affect.Understanding false papers, the system for status verification should be used.Employers that dont should be fined as i stated before.No jobes they wont come.I dont want to get into the party line I think it is counter productive,and both parties have there crosses to bear.

I have never supported large scale growth,what i do support is and economy that allows our town to be productive,have a strong taxe base,and be able to employ our people and that can be done without being meridian,caldwell,nampa.I HAVE ALWAYS EQUATED OUR TOWN TO A PLANTATION,JUST ENOUGH TO SURVIVE BUT NOT ENOUGH TO MOVE OFF. THAT is based on MONEY.

WE went through a major housing downturn in the 80's we slowed down it caught up but we didnt learn we turned around and did the same thing again and we are in it now.PLUS we have people financing homes again to 125 % that doesnt make sense,oh well...........

I HOPE SOME PEOPLE READ THE ARTICULE IN THE STATESMAN.............

ZOOK.....THEY HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT IT SINCE LAST WEEK.....Wall st is up to it's old self i said it the other day.record profits in a recession especially with the hi percentage of forclosures....The attorney gen in N.Y.OPENED AND INVESTIGATION ON THEM 2 WEEKS AGO.

I wish we could just pay attention to us and let everything else go but i know we cant.HOW ABOUT KARZI WARNING US.....I SAY OK !!!!!!!!! WE WILL BE GONE NEXT WEEK AND START PACKING.ANYTHING WE CANT HAUL OUT DESTROY AND COME HOME.END IT NOW!!!!!!!!! IF THEY WANT ANYTHING LET THEM PAY FOR IT..........ENOUGH
