  • Preach on Zook! Our Founding Fathers would be outraged. I can't even tell if we're citizens, or subjects to these democraps.

  • Lamont

Yes, by all means, lets be fair and identify all the manure in the pile.

But first, you need to acknowledge that this blog is addressing a certain issue.

Start your own blog if you think that your point isn't getting across.

I say this, because, too many passes are given in the everyday news about people in a certain party who only get their hands slapped and go on to live lifestyles of the rich and famous.

The government does not owe anyone a living and that has been our problem for the past 60 years or so. A nice idea, entitlement programs, but in the long run, some people will always be poor and hardworking individuals will not be able to keep food on their own table, let alone those who are expecting a hand-out.

And speaking of Coal States, How is Al Gore doing these days? Talk about a financial genius. There are too many people crying that the sky is falling and making a profit on it. It doesn't matter what party you vote for.

I hate to be mean, but where can the line be drawn? All of us are taking a cut in our living expenses. But not Congress, not the pet programs or bending over backwards for illegal aliens. If we eliminated all programs geared for someone else other than what is absolutely necessary, pay as we go in our budget, we wouldn't need to cut medicare or medicaid.

Life is not fair, but unless we see to it that all corruption ceases across party lines and rein in spending, you won't have anything but the shirt on your back if you are lucky.

  • Sorry, I got a little indignant about Lamont's post. I didn't mean to sound so crabby and mean.

  • From what I understand the waivers were given to delay compliance with an insurance mandate that was put into place which includes businesses such as restaurants and they are only suppose to be temporary. Lets hope they aren't like the Temporary Levy.

Goes to show how the government does such a good job of writing laws and why so much fraud and waste is going on.

  • Again, another example of trying to make things fair. Really we aren't helping anyone with our good intentions at this point.

And we should not be offering money that we do not have to to other countries who deliberatly keep their people poor and starving. Let them sell a palace or two.

  • I REALLY AM NOT PO ABOUT IT I JUST FIGURE WE WOULD GET ALL THE NAMES UP THERE AND GET IT OVER WITH.....i am past the people its not about them individually its about them collectively.THE SYSTEM AS A WHOLE IS SO SELF PERPETUATING THAT THEY THEMSELFES DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING ALL OF THEM.....ONE THIEF ISNT ANY BETTER OR WORST THAN THE OTHER.

This is not about entitlements this is about how we continue to subsides things that shouldnt be to include..,syria,israel,libya,iraq,afghanistan,pakistan,smolia and all the otheres that have resources that they are not using because we give them money. Why do we still subsides germany?italy ,japan, etc ?????? why are we not asking those questions????????? Me personally I say take care of our own.WHEN I GOT ASSIGNED TO GERMANY i was po because we had 320.000 people there being used as hostages..plus all the money to there economy .leased bases etc we could have used that at home.

When we look at fraud waste and abuse we need to look in all of there pockets without exception,so im not picking on any given politcal idealogy im picking on all of them they are getting old.,

THE POLETICS OF ALLIES SHOULD NOT BE THE POLETICS OF WELFARE...,....TO INCLUDE NATION STATES

-- Posted by lamont on Thu, May 19, 2011, at 2:10 PM
  • WELL lets see...I will not go there. I am not attacking anyone i stated that collectivily they are all the same pandering to the same beats they have been for years.I maintain that.SHOOT WERE EVER YOU WANT.I AM ALSO NOT DEFENDING ANYONE.

HOW ANY GIVEN PERSON SEE CERTAIN THINGS IS THERE PEROGATIVE I DONT HAVE TO AGREE.THERE IS NO MONOPLY ON THE CORRUPTION IN WASHINGTON AND TO IMPLY ONES CORRUPTION IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER IS TO SANCTION BOTH.SO WHO'S TURN IS IT AT BAT???? THAT IS WHAT IT AMOUNTS TOO.

The miss steps abound all over the place and they continue on both sides, there is no such thing as perfection and this time is no different.I CALLED FOR PRES BUSH to stop look and listen and I CALL FOR PRES O BOMA TO DO LIKEWISE.

I DONT GET ONE SIDED ABOUT RIGHT AND WRONG.THERE IS NO SUCH THING WHEN YOU LET POLETICAL IDEAOLOGY OVERIDE GOOD SENSE.THEY DONT EQUATE

  • REP RYANS budget proposal is in trouble because he wants to privatize medicare and medicad. That is a problem. That issue will have to be resolved before it goes anywhere and that was made clear right from the beginning.THERE ARE THINGS THAT SHOULD AND WILL BE CUT BUT THAT ISSUE IS NOT GOING TO GO THE WAY THE INSURANCE CO. WANT.

Instead of passing bills to go after abortion rights,a piece at a time lets do what was promised and spend time creating JOBS.How did that get put on the back burner????? Lets FREEZE SPENDING like right NOW just FREEZE it.Then start the process one step, one item at a time and get it done. The name calling is old,and the use of seniors as pawns is also old.

Ill SAY IT AGAIN NONE OF THEM GIVE A DARN IT'S NOT THEM.

  • The taxpayer has been getting robbed since we paid the first tax; it's a question of whose hand we want in our pocket; and more importantly, does that hand belong to someone whose "values" match (resemble, coincide)with mine. Can I support that SOB who is promoting a specific agenda.

As for the term "And Justice for all" goes; it has come to the point that it depends who is interpreting it......

-- Posted by Craftbeer on Fri, May 20, 2011, at 7:08 PM
  • SOME JOBS WOULD BE LOST....BUT THEY SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN CREATED.THE GOVERNMENT IS HUGE BECAUSE OF DUPLICATION,NO ONE AGENCY DOES THE ENTIRE JOB THAT IS THE PROBLEM.

DEFENSE cuts were going to happen no matter who was in charge. They were going to remove the 40 thousand they increased to ease the rotation cycle.THEY STARTED THE CUTS OVER A YEAR AGO HI YR TENURE LOWERED ETC.

MY L.A. TIMES YOUR JOKING RIGHT ??????? anyhow like it or not we need to raise taxes by cutting subsidies it is that easy especially on big oil.THEY NEED TO CUT PAYROLL TAXES.I AM TELLING YOU THIS CAN BE DONE.

FINE those employers who are selling us out by hiring illegals......fine them what ever they are paying equal to 1 YRS WAGES for each one hired and it will stop.deport within 48hrs to country of origin.....where ever.EMPLOYERS WILL PAY THE FINE WITHIN THE TAX YEAR.

THESE things take courage but they are the right thing to do.The CONGRESS and the SENATE can do this ...... and the pres will have no choice.

I KNOW WHATS RIGHT ,I KNOW WHY THINGS ARE DONE AND I SEE NO REASON WHY THEY DONT DO THEM.

  • A minor point of order; "and justice for all" appears in the Pledge of Allegiance; a loyalty oath if you will. It confers no rights and has no real legal standing. Neither does the Preamble to the Constitution, which starts off "We the people" and includes all 308,000,000 of us (give or take a few million illegals).

-- Posted by Craftbeer on Fri, May 20, 2011, at 7:57 PM
  • I agree with you in principle Zook; but our founding fathers didn't write that into the papers and I doubt there will ever be an amendment making it a requirement.....If you're willing to shed someone else's blood; you should have shed yours first.

But then, that may put us one step closer to tyranny than our current charlie foxtrot....

  • Huckabee had a good idea. Have a reality show with all the candidates running and each week one by one they get voted off. The last one standing is elected. To pay off the national debt run enough ads to pay it off

-- Posted by MsMarylin on Sat, May 21, 2011, at 8:21 PM
  • Didn't Clinton have the national debt paid off when he was in office?

And I would never ever give a credit card to a teenager even if they were in college lol !

  • APOLOGY TO ZOOK I was re-reading the comments and when I read: "If you're willing to shed someone else's blood; you should have shed yours first." It didn't match what I intended to convey; which was, I was agreeing with you that a president should have military experience; not that you (personally) haven't "shed blood" and did your part. I sincerely apologize for this poor communication on my part.
