John McCain and a Pair of Planes

Senator John McCain is "supposed" to be a Republican, which means we in that party EXPECT him to honor our Constitution. Our party is BASED upon upholding that time-tested parchment of paper, and NOT intruding upon people's rights and freedoms. Always HAS been.

Unfortunately, over the years, there have been some "RINO's popping up into our midst (RINO---Republican In Name Only). Corder could explain that to ya.

So early in 2001, when McCain joined his "fellow Democrats" in an effort to close gunshows in Arizona, we gunowners down there were up in arms about it....(no pun intended).

Arizona is one the heaviest armed states in the country (which Holder needs to keep in mind before he pushes them too far---which to MY mind he already HAS), and with the coming of the big "CROSSROADS" gunshows down there, a gun collector can find everthing from spare parts for that old 1917 Enfield, to anything modern that's legal to own.

I used to get to those shows everytime they had one, getting good deals on bulk ammuniton....I found a spare magazine for my old World War II Luger......and custom grips for one of my Colts. The only thing I have NEVER found at a gunshow, was one of these "loopholes" we're supposed to have, by which you can supposedly buy a MACHINEGUN, RPG or a FLAMETHROWER without a background check----just "cash & carry" out the door, to supply all these Mexican Durg Cartels with!

I have never been able to buy a gun at ANY gunshow, without having to pass the same background check you have to pass at a regular gunstore, and do all of the same friggin' paperwork. (some of you guys out there listen to too much "Geraldo, Goldberg and Carvelle.)"

When I see all this crap on television about the bad guys across the border getting all these handgrenades, bazooka rockets and full auto AK's from OUR side......I keep asking myself...."What "gunshow" are THEY going to?-----I need to FIND THAT one!"

You are also hampered by D.C. itself. Most gunshows are held on weekends.......and when the gun dealer calls your information in, it is usually to a "skeleton crew" who will put you on a 3-day delay, so you don't GET your gun until Washington clears it.

Come back Tuesday morning.

The show is GONE by "Tuesday morning" and so is that special edition browning shotgun you've been trying to find over the last 2 years------------(this is one of the MAIN reasons people get Concealed Permits......NOT to carry "concealed", but if you HAVE one, they don't need to "call for clearance", due to the INTENSIVE investigation you ALREADY had to go through just to GET that permit).

Anyway.......enter the RINO John McCain, who thinks closing gunshows to DECENT people is somehow going to put the "bad guys" out of business. We had long come to EXPECT this kind of mindless thought from the LEFT, but NOT from "one of our own" as McCain was supposed to be.

In very short order, petitions got going. They had a list you could sign for McCain's RECALL at ANY gunshop you walked into and at every gunshow. Easily 99% of the signatures were Republicans, as you rarely ever see a Democrat at a show, or in a gunstore, unless it's some curious liberal trying to find one of those "loopholes" for the term paper he wants to impress his professor with.

We held a huge rally at a big Phoenix hotel, as the petitions began to grow. Pretty soon, we were getting close to having that "magic number" to RECALL the "great War Hero RINO McCain"......there was another rally planned within the following week...........

Then..........I was outside the hangar at work, when a fellow worker came out and yelled "MIKE.......did you hear what just happened? SOMEBODY just flew TWO airliners into the Twin Towers in New York!"

All work stopped, and all over the complex, people were listening to the radios..........the Pentagon had been hit too, and only LATER did we find out about "Flight 93."

There wasn't a gunshow scheduled in the immediate future, but I knew of a place up in Prescott that sold just what I was looking for. I drove up there early Saturday morning and was standing outside the front door when they opened. I left an hour later with an AK-47 and 500 rounds for it-----that would DO for a starter. Even if I COULD have afforded to, I'd never have bought up all the ammo there was. Always better to leave something on the table for others.....so you've got some HELP out there when things start to "get sticky."

I'm still like that today. There are certain brands and types of ammo that I prefer over others. If Wally World, let's say, has five boxes of it on their shelf, I only buy one or maybe two at the same time. If there are 3 other guys on my same street with the same caliber pistols or rifles-----I don't want to be the only one with ammo for them. I want some HELP out there when the time comes.

Procrastination always seems to come back to bite you in the butt.....you CANNOT believe the media......and since NOBODY really knew what was happening for sure, or if any followup attacks were planned against America..........the gunstores were doing a booming business (again, no pun intended!)

There are times in your life where you DON'T just "wait & see what's gonna happen." You wait TOO long sometimes.........and what you need is suddenly no longer available, and if it IS, you'll pay a lot MORE for it now.

I paid $287 for my AK-47 in Prescott right after 9/11. You won't find a new one for that price NOW!

John McCain however, slipped through the cracks like the slimy dirtbag he is. Everybody was now focused on the terrorists and NOTHING else. The push to get rid of McCain fizzled out for the most part, as EVERYBODY was thinking only in terms of this joke we now know as "homeland security."

Ammunition supplies were being bought up almost as quickly as in the post 2008 election...........because AGAIN......nobody knew.

But THIS was an area where the old Bazookaman here would NOT get caught up in any "Day After Thanksgiving Sales."......I had started getting prepared during the Clinton years. I saw the handwriting on the wall BACK THEN.

By what records we HAVE found, Barack Obama is the most anti-gun President we've ever had. There were never any "present" votes on gun issues. After he got elected, the ammunition shelves at gunstores here, Boise, and everywhere ELSE, started looking like "Old Mother Hubbard's Cupboard!"..........of particular shortages were 9mm and 380 auto.........and when the manufacturer's DID start to catch up with demand, a brick of 22's that you USED to buy for 8 bucks, would NOW set you back about $29.00!!

But like I said though......I have SEEN THIS COMING.........so a "box here---and a box there----over the last 20 years. Let 'em do whatever they THINK they're gonna do.

And it never goes bad if you keep it dry. I've shot World War II surplus ammo in my old Garand that's as good today as when it was new.

Most people will never know how close John McCain came.....to NOT being a senator anymore. Ironically it was 9/11 that SAVED him.

Like I've written on some other blogsites........One of the things that separate US from the Dems......is that we ARE willing to get rid of OUR bums if need be, for the good of our country. We showed that AGAIN last November. Republican politicians do not have that "protective umbrella" of BLIND ALLEGIANCE, that the Reids, Schumers and Feinsteins do..........no matter HOW much they lie, cheat and steal.

McCain is lucky to still be a Senator. Very lucky.
