Political Incorrectness of a One-legged Man

I use to be a pastor in Mountain Home in the 90's. I'm now a disabled, divorced man who unfortunately has nothing but time on my hands and looking for ways to productively burn time.

I have just found out that, as a veteran under the care of the VA, I won't be forced to enroll in the new "Health Care" program. This was one of my biggest concerns because I receive a SS-Disability income and really can't afford to buy health insurance. You'd think I'd be feeling pretty good about this and not care about how this is going to affect most people in our country, but I don't.

I've been accused of being a liberal because I've criticized Bush's mishandling of the "War on Terror", the economy and restricting our rights under the Bill of Rights.

Now, I'm focusing on President Obama and his policies, especially concerning his Health Insurance program. Does everyone understand the impact that this "Health Insurance" will have on the middle income and even the low income citizens of our country? I know that I'm slightly above the poverty level.(which I am grateful for) If I was forced to enroll in the health insurance program, what would it cost? I believe I've read somewhere that it would cost approximately 2100 dollars a year. Where that breaks off, I don't know, but 175 dollars a month would drastically affect my "lifestyle". What I want to know from people that are more informed than I, what you think about this "benefit" of the Federal Government. With the increase of health insurance, hospitals and doctors costs per year, is the Fed's health insurance a good deal or not. Is this one of those programs that will really help the middle income citizens and the poor? Or Will it actually cause a burden upon those who live from paycheck to paycheck? The fact is that it will cost the IRS 10 billion dollars to monitor and enforce the enrollment in the health insurance program. That money will be used to hire 10,000 IRS employees to monitor and enforce the fines for not having health insurance. We all know how the IRS is so compassionate and cooperative in dealing with the public. How many people will wind up accruing so many fines that they will wind up being sent to prison? Okay, I'm starting to get really angry, so let's have a little input.

I remembered after the fact that it was 16,000 new IRS agents, not 10,000.

Frank from what I can understand, and it isn't alot. lol ! If your already getting Medical from the Va then you don't need to buy into an insurance plan, you already have insurance.

I have a son who also receives SS-D but since he isn't a veteran he has medicaid. He won't have to buy more insurance because he is already been accepted as low income and is on Medicaid.

For those who aren't on Medicaid and have no insurance and have a job then I think there must be some sort of guide line on how much you make and how much you can afford to pay for insurance. If you are deemed Medicaid acceptable I guess they put you on Medicaid. If they say you make to much money to go on Medicaid then you have to pay. The Goverment is suppose to give some sort of relief to those that are at risk of not having much money.

Now I have a question. When some one goes to the hospital and has no insurance and the hospital writes off the Bill who pays the bill? Does the hospital pay all of it or do they get money from State or Federal Government? If they get help from State or Federal then I guess if you think about it nothing really changes except for those that have jobs and can afford to buy insurance but have always chose not to, will now have to buy into some kind of insurance plan

First you go after Bush and now you go after Obama. Are you ever happy?

I too am against the Health program because it will be a high priced mismanaged program that will not do as designed. Obama and the dems knew that when they pushed this Bill through.

Health care reform needs to be done in small increments. For example: Pharacudical (sp?) in one bill, hospital billing in another bill, and insurance not even worked since it is a personnal responsibility for each individual.

The goverment cannot manage this program.

Umm, Marcus are you serious? You ask if I'm ever happy? Have you looked at the economy? Have you looked at the unemployment statistics? I don't know how anyone could be "happy", except perhaps the most liberal of Democrats.

How exactly do you discuss politics without including the President of the United States. Bush was an incompetent puppet of Cheney and his buddies and he was a terrible President. Obama hasn't been in office long enough to accurately judge his Presidency, but I'm assuming that he's going to be a failure as well. He appears to be a typical ultra-liberal Democrat and I don't think he or his Congress is done proposing and passing controversial bills that will cost us much in the way of taxes or hidden fees. He has done nothing in the way of "Change" and the pork is still being attached to bills. He's created a huge bureaucracy for Health Insurance.

Unless there's a "mandate" in November, the American people are going to suffer, in my opinion. It's too bad you don't realize that politicians, both Republicans and Democrats are deceptive liars who suck you in and than don't deliver on their "promises".

Mmm who says you won't,, its already happening you just havent notice it YET

Not only will Veterans but eveyone else, why because its a failed system U.Health Care that is.

its all in or none in, notice the VA building a clinic here,, first step. then you'll be trasfered here to that Clinic. I refuse to go too it, if Im going to use a VA Clinic here in Mountain Home I may as well move to California or I'll feel like Im a pet living in a prison

the Obama team is now considing cutting Military spending and that means VA too and Medicare cuts lets not forget.
