Sunday, and Friends & New Friends!Posted Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 12:11 PM
This is what we do every Sunday. We do it lots of other days, but on Sundays, we are here. And we always have fun. There are moments that take our breath away... and a few times there have been tears. Tears of great excitement and joy...and sometimes of deep fear and worry. But always, in the end...a good time.
Horse back riding, isn't just riding. Once you get more into what can be offered by the horse, and from the experience, you realize the opportunities are limitless. It becomes so much more than "horsemanship" it truly becomes a lifestyle. If you're tilting your head and wondering "What in the world is she talking about" then, you don't get it. But these folks in these photos.... I'm going to bet, they get it, and/or are starting to get it. It overlaps into everything we do. And, more importantly, we mean to keep it there !
Arlene, is the wonderfully GRACIOUS owner of this indoor arena. I've known her for about 30 years...and she still puts of up with me! She also has one of the most infectious smiles in the Country!
Jennifer has had this horse just a few months, and there has been some trauma. But she loves him, and (heheheh) she's growing on him!
These are good friends
Wayne isn't holding Kelley's hand, he's scaring her! All in good fun. And as a supportive, Sharon is laughing her behind off!
She has learned so much since she first started riding a few months ago.
I'm sure I'm torturing Kelley about something!
Another day...and some horse swapping going on. Everyone gets a chance to ride an English Saddle if they want.
This is this mare's first ride. Remember the baby she had this year? This is Mommy!
You tell me, are these happy kids?
We play around
Still the Mare's first ride.... if gentle, all is well.
Still first ride
yeah, we can be dorks
My oldest son, on my old mare's only colt.
I couldn't resist. He's not mine any more, but I had to ride him.
Wayne's Dad comes to visit.
Do you suppose my Grandson loves me?
It didn't take these girls long to figure out that FAST is FUN!
We had a great group this last Sunday, and met some new people. I will not name names.... but if those that read this want to....
Sometimes going over a 'bridge' is more than just that. It's a trust building opportunity.
Kelley wanted to try bareback.... so, why not?
I figured if everyone was going to do it, I better see if I still could
Marshmallow has another fan. And she's getting her first taste of broccoli.
My son's sequence of 'swinging up' Yep, I'm a bit of a proud Mom
And a bit of a proud Grandma. Jilly is going to be in her first Horse Show this summer.... yay!

I am interested in this Community, County, and the beautiful state of Idaho. Most of my photos will be in Idaho, but from time to time, they will be my vacations aay from Idaho. You'll see lots of my Children and Grand children, along with others in my family. Of course there will be horses and horse related things, and things I photo'd horseback.

Great pictures and great blog, once again. I can't say it enough, what an incredible time this was. You guys are good people and I can't wait to pick yalls brain this Sunday!
Sounds great Keith. That's what happens. After it's all over, and you start to think about it, then you get the questions. We look forward to it!
Jessie I would have never thought that after riding for 20+ years (aging myself here) that I would have and will learn so much about riding horses. I have never had an untrained horse, always bought them trained and ready go. So training my horse (notice I didn't say breaking) has been the best thing I have ever done. I have learned so much about horses but whats more important is that I have learned so much about ME! Thank you Jessie and Wayne for all your help and your support! You two are honest caring people who strive to bring out the best in all that you meet. True friends true hearts!
Kelley, THAT is the kind of thing that is part of the reason we love doing what we do. YOU have made such leaps and bounds in both you and your horse. I think you get what I mean by "it's something that involves every aspect of your life"
It's part of why I have more ability than I did as a younger woman to sit back and actually 'listen' to what is trying to be told to me. Or asked of me. Just like with horses, it's been asked and told of me in many different ways ... I've nearly heard it all, ...then I hear it differently again. You've been a joy to work with, without doubt. Don't you ever think that whiile I"m "barking orders" at you, that I don't understand where "you're coming from" And always remember, I'll be the first one to give you a hug........ (or an order) when ya need it!
I thought you might!
Wayne in an english saddle... How cute!
