"Called To Action"

Lee Iacocca has written a book called, Called to Action. I thought he had some good things to say. The following words are Iacocca's words:

'Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder! We've got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, 'Stay the course..'

Stay the course? You've got to be kidding. This is America , not the damned, 'Titanic'. I'll give you a sound bite: 'Throw all the bums out!'

You look around, you've got to ask: 'Where have all the leaders gone?' Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense? These are times that cry out for leadership.

You can't call yourself a patriot if you're not outraged. This is a fight I'm ready and willing to have. Storms happen. Deal with it. Make a plan. Figure out what you're going to do the next time.

I have news for the gang in Congress. We didn't elect you to sit on your asses and do nothing and remain silent while our democracy is being hijacked and our greatness is being replaced with mediocrity. What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on NBC news or CNN news will call them a name? Give me a break. Why don't you guys show some spine for a change?

Had Enough? Hey, I'm not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom here. I'm trying to light a fire. I'm speaking out because I have hope - I believe in America . In my lifetime, I've had the privilege of living through some of America 's greatest moments. I've also experienced some of our worst crises: The 'Great Depression,' 'World War II,' the 'Korean War,' the 'Kennedy Assassination,' the 'Vietnam War,' the 1970's oil crisis, and the struggles of recent years culminating with 9/11.

If I've learned one thing, it's this: 'You don't get anywhere by standing on the sidelines waiting for somebody else to take action. Whether it's building a better car or building a better future for our children, we all have a role to play. That's the challenge I'm raising in this book. It's a "Call to Action" for people who, like me, believe in America '. It's not too late, but it's getting pretty close. So let's shake off the crap and go to work. Let's tell 'em all we've had 'enough.'

Yes, where is all of the outrage? Courage and conviction? What is that and what does it mean today?

There is NOBODY breathing, who is more P.O.'d than I am. NOBODY.

The Democrat party in-fighting is proof that they ARE hearing our voice, but I think it is still going to take a revolt to get it done. I've been ready for some time, but I can't do it all by myself. There ARE militia movements gaining momentum, and we also have the option of secession, if we can get a real governor.

I have a game plan, but nothing I'd publicly disclose on a blogsite.

Missy, it's ok to vent off in these venues, but stealth must play a part in success. No matter how mad you might get, you have to guard against divulging certain info while "debating" some of these clowns, because you never know who all is out there reading these things. This is easy to accidently do, in the "heat of discussion."

Whoever spoke out against the Patriot Act (Dave or Censored), was right to do so. Hell, they THEMSELVES could be Fed informants.............(ha-ha, more than likely NOT, but it'll give Censored some "conspiracy material" when he gets back!). Far be it from ME to deny him his little pleasures.

There was an old World War II cliche'........."Loose lips sink ships."

Every American who calls themselves one, NEEDS to be outraged. We all find each other though, we know each other on sight, and through the friends we know we can trust. Multiply that by the millions of us who ARE a part of pure grassroots, and we'll take it back.

Blogwise, be cautious. Half the info I put out there is the truth that our side needs to keep honed up on. The other half is a subterfuge for the other guys to snack on.

There's a method and a reason.

Take care and watch your back.

Your absolutely right Bazooka. But you have to be willing to go after the corporations who are the major players in this wreck. After all they are the capitalist who are steering this ship along with congress into the rocks. It's never been just about politicians, right or left, it's the people paying them not to listen to the common people. You cannot change things in Washington unless you go after corporations that control Washington. I'd be like treating a lung cancer patient without addressing the cigarettes the patient is still smoking. If you leave the cause of corruption alone it'll always come back and play it's little power games. Remove the head and the heart and the rest of the body will die.

And it wasn't the right who was speaking out against the patriot act when it first came from the shadows. I was there man, I know.

And the militia movements are just as corrupt as the politicians and the money changers. They're like the Igors to the Mad Scientists. "Yes, master." Millions? Maybe 20 or 30,000 at most. Your over compensating your pride with numbers. There's no way that many radical beer drinkers could keep from popping off before "the planned" revolt starts, especially in stir crazy Idaho.

But maybe I'm crazy and full of conspiracy? :O

Good luck Bazooka,...your gonna need it.

Maybe. But the radical beer drinkers aren't likely to have solid enough game plans to spill to the public anyway.

Corporations can be boycotted, as an example; Time magazine ran a scathing article against gun ownership in America, and almost overnight, it cost them over 600,000 subscribers.

AARP has lost nearly 65,000 members (so far), since their enforsement of Obama's heathcare plan. They usually start paying attention when it starts coming out of their wallets.

But going after corporations isn't easy. Best to cut the "supply line" off at Washington's end. After all, you and I can't fire the CEO of say, Wal-Mart, but we CAN vote the "guy in his pocket" OUT of office.

We only need to cut one end off, and the political end is the one to cut.

You have to remember that corporate heads are out to make money. They don't owe you and I anything because they never PROMISED you and I anything.

"Sam the Senator" and "Carl the Congressman", DO make promises and take oaths, all for the power and prestige of working for US. They aren't being paid to manufacture anything, or make deals with lobbyists. They are being paid to REPRESENT us. That's their job, and we can FIRE them when they don't do it. And we don't need to hire lawyers and conduct probes & such. We can just walk into the booths vote 'em out!. They're a damned sight easier to get rid of than CEO's-----------if we'll all get on the same sheet of msic and DO it!

I think there are going to be a lot of "statements" made next November, and those who manage to survive it will be giving us their undivided attention from that point on.

If not, that's when I think we'll see Plan B., an option that will definitely remain "on the table" as they say.

On a lighter note, Censored, how'd you make out up there? Get a shot at anything?

No my aiming eye was distracted by 4 wheelers and beer cans used by the lazy crazies in the hills. Seems hunting season has turned into Hillbillies gone wild instead of a sport. Friggin bums.

Yeah.............several years ago, a hunting buddy of mine and I, hiked to the top of a beautiful area way up in the northern portion of 39 Area, and found a half dozen empty beer cans laying around at the top.

The thought came to me.........."Some knucklehead packed a whole six pack to the top of this hill FULL..............but he couldn't flatten the cans and pack them DOWN EMPTY?"

People don't realize that it's crap like this, that eventually gets open BLM land CLOSED to recreationalists.

When I target shoot, paper targets, exploded water-filled milk jugs come back home with me, as with any pop cans, and whatever brass I've burned up.

I'd like to catch somebody dumping their old furniture, tv sets and crap out there. Just once. I know what you're talking about, Censored, and I don't like it either.

I've lived in Mtn Home for over 20 years. I love my city and my country. Since I am a writer, my decision to blog here seemed appropriate. I enjoy acting so I've been blessed with the opportunity to work on some independent films and with Prairie Dog Productions and Bogus Creek Ranch. I hope that something I have to write about has some value for others or just amuses someone.
