Rooseveltian OptimisticPosted Thursday, February 26, 2009, at 12:14 AM
He spoke for this little girl who wrote the congress about her school where they stop teaching 6 times a day for the train that comes by and the sad state of the school and she was told by many that it was hopeless. Instead, she went to the library and wrote a letter telling congress that her school wasn't much but it needed to be saved. She said that they were not quitters; the students wanted to become lawyers or doctors and such. She was in the audience. Wow! Pretty awe-inspiring stuff, just like his campaign. Matter-of-fact, it was a lot like he was still running for president and trying to win votes with pretty words. I heard the newscasters stating that it was "Roosevelt-like optimistic". This is a compliment? Obama showed that the report about the him showing major arrogance was actually true. He spent alot of time taking credit for all he had accomplished in his short time in office. He stated that more had been done in his time in the oval office for healthcare reform than ever before in the past decade. This man of the nation took credit for doing more before the first 100 days have paste than any other before him. The "wish list" was bestowed on the people. He said that "We need to get credit flowing" for people; loans needed to be available for small businesses and homeowners who were behind on their payments. Afterall, it's not the banks that we need to help but the people, right? He admitted "This will cost a significant amount from the gov't even more than we have already spent". Then he promised that the top 2% of the population who are wealthy would have their tax cuts taken away but promised that anyone making less than $250,000 "would not see one penny of their taxes raised". "We need to be investing in alternative energy, healthcare reform, and making sure that our kids go to college. Many have disagreed and people are arguing over the recovery plan. Obama scolding, "We will not govern out of anger but be responsible...Middle class is 1st." Yet, through all the flowery, I'm telling the American people what they want to hear, words, all I can think about is that the man has lied over and over again about what he's is or is not going to do based on campaign promises. How many times did he prosmise in a stern voice that the stimulus bill wouldn't have any earmarks? How many times did he promise that he would make Washington DC transparent so the people can see what the government is doing, gaining their trust. And what did he do? He passed on the responsibility of writing a "bail-out" stimulus deal to others. He allowed them to write it and rush it through without allowing people to read it. It was devious and proof of his disregard for promises and a shining example of his arrogance. He is like a movie star that has been so showered with adoration that they begin to think that they are as perfect as the fans scream they are. He is walking around enjoying the power and lacking the maturity or strength to resist the temptations that go along with that. Power corrupts absolutely. Then he spoke of the military and pay raises for them as well. He said that we will pull troops out. He will be adjusting our military spending. And made it clear that "We do not torture" and he is ordering Guantanimo closed. Yet proceeded to talk about not allowing terrorism. No real plans on how he would do that. Maybe he will have a nice tea party and invite them to a sit down talk where he will ask "pretty-please" and treat them with respect. I'm sure that will work. The democrats put everyone from the Clinton era back into office and have pushed every over-spending bill that they couldn't get through congress the past few years. They pushed like crazy because they have the control they have coveted, along with their puppet-President. But they are desperate to get it all through before the "common-level-headed" Americans have a chance to regroup. While many are shaking their heads in bewilderment, the rush is on to complete as much as they can. Wake up, people! Stop the madness before the damage is too far gone. I've lived in Mtn Home for over 20 years. I love my city and my country. Since I am a writer, my decision to blog here seemed appropriate. I enjoy acting so I've been blessed with the opportunity to work on some independent films and with Prairie Dog Productions and Bogus Creek Ranch. I hope that something I have to write about has some value for others or just amuses someone.

I wouldn't believe Obama or ANY of his "Clintonites" if they said night was dark and day was light.
Obama is a liar.....please tell me, why do the majority of folks in this fine nation love a liar? This makes no sense.
So your mad a Obama for the mess the US is in. Remember he inherited this mess for the last 8 years of the bush group. At least give him a chance to try. Bush also was a lair, he told the america people on national TV, that we had to go into Iraq for all the weapons they owned. He was proven wrong by his own peers.
Bush screwed a lot of things up, but he didn't do it by himself. His last few years saw a Democratic controlled Congress.
Obama is putting us further in debt right from the get-go, than Bush amassed through his tenure.
Just because through his war, Bush has put us in a trick....that DOESN'T make it ok for Obama to "double-down" on that. If anything, he's supposed to know better....leastwise, that's the smack he was talking during his campaign.
Government is taking over the census, now the banks, we're gonna be a Socialist nation is the "messiah" has HIS way about it.
They signed a huge bill they never even read, and it's FULL of pork, as it this NEXT 410 Billion........which Obama promised would contain no earmarks....remember? He made a big issue of that during the debates. Every American taxpayer at the middle class level will end up paying about 25,000 each, for Obama's social programs.
Yet......."95% of all Americans were going to get a tax break."......Uh-huh..........
Obama didn't fool EVERYBODY,,,,but he unfortunately fooled ENOUGH, and we're ALL stuck with it.
Obama is correct in wanting to promote alternative energy. Nuclear has elements that most are not aware of. The waste produced is undesirable. It is no secret that no one wants to store it. If it is so safe, why the hassle. Second, uranium mining and enrichment is harmful to humans and to the land. Land that has been mined for uranium is worthless now and forever. Finally, Mtn. Home is not an Oasis of water. Look out your front door and you will see desert. The water needed for even the smallest reactor would exceed all that the area has to offer. Finally, they are sending this power elsewhere. Why would you want to support a nuclear plant that is sending its base load power to Vegas and LA? The jobs that this plant would generate would be temporary. Once it is built, the majority of people would be done working and move away.
Renewables would last for the long run and no extra roads, EMT's, power lines, sewer lines, etc. that would be useless once the outflow began.
