  • Same old, same old Joe when it comes to the Obama administration. Change we can believe in but nobody said it would be good.

The people like MsM will certainly vote for him again (as she has stated over and over). Thanks for the info Joe. Glad to see you back and hope you are well. MsM can now call you one of the "3 amigos."

Joining the list with CJW, BS61, OM, I don't have a problem as EE becoming "AMIGOS" # 4, sure they are more to come. What I found interesting was the video was put out by a Lt Wing media ABC. Wonder how its going to be called a lie now.

I don't know how long I am going to stay but I couldn't let that one go by without posting it.

According to MsM everyone is wrong but her, like already been said when is she going to start thinking for herself instead of all the Lt wing sites doing it all.

Just like a previous blog of mine MsM just had to let me know with a comment that I had made a mistake and wondered who told me about it or did I find it myself, all after I saw it and fixed it, wasn't any reason to point it out at all.

Talk about mistakes MsM best look at alot of your comments and you will see you have as many mis-spelled words and Carter has liver pills, so get off it and quit being the spelling police on here.

When one is always right and everyone else is wrong have to wonder just what they are thinking and reading.

This is a lot like a picture of an anti-Obama billboard I got in an e-mail today. It says "I promised change, I'm just changing the promise".

  • Hey Brainiacs If you would of listened to the video it was the States choice to give the work to China not Obama. You guys are funny does that mean you like ABC news now?

OM Calling you a Brainiac is a compliment, better then me calling you some of the names I get called.

3 Amigos ........ You didn't get the meaning of that either. Has nothing to do with supporting Romney it had to do with the spewing of insults.

Joe I never said I don't make mistakes, I make spelling errors all the time. I'm sure not perfect like all you Brainiacs are.

Your all making a Mountain out of a Mole Hill!!

    Much to do about nothing!!

  • Oh and by the way that video is a year old but not as old as the Obama one the Republicans are throwing all over. That one is 14 years old. Whats going on is their trying to take the heat off of Romney! Romney's blunders aren't going away!!

  • It is okay for the media to bring up how Romney behaved in HS or that he strapped his dog to the roof of his car and be outraged. How many of us did things in HS that was stupid or cruel?

You miss the real point of character when you scoff at a video that is 14 years old. It ties in directly as to what his policies are today.

None of us are perfect, but it is the policies and the absolute arrogance of this current president which makes us angry.

I am so glad that he created more jobs for Letterman by appearing on his show. Or the fact that he is like JayZ makes my heart warm.

Yes, a Vegas fundraiser was his idea of being a President to all of the People when 4 of our own were dead and US buildings were being burned along with our flag.

No one has all of the answers, but one thing is for sure, whether we wanted him to suceed or not, he has failed the American People terribly.

-- Posted by KH Gal on Thu, Sep 20, 2012, at 7:34 AM
  • The Republicans wanted Obama to fail isn't that why they from the get go formed a pact to make him a one term President? There's been books wrote about what they did, its been all over the news even on ABC,NBC,CBS,FOX,CNBC,MSNBC,. They never expected him to win the 2008 election.

Maybe some day the Republicans will have someone worthy to vote for and when that day comes that person whoever it is will get my vote.....

Until then Obama gets my vote. There is NO Way a candidate talking at a fundraiser about Foreign Policy makes the remark "he can kick it on down the road" Will get my vote! There is NO Way I will vote for someone who cheats on his taxes, takes jobs out of America, and keeps his money in other Country's and doesn't care about the American People, the Middle Class. Bush kicked to many balls down the road and left this Country in a big mess, I don't want a repeat of that..... I know you don't want to hear the Bush name, everyone wants to skip over him, but hes real and he was our President. His time spend as President is in History books, you cannot poof him away!!

He was even skipped over by his own party at the RNC. It's sad when his own party don't want him at their convention. Its sad when the Republican Party wouldn't embrace Romney until they had NO ONE Else!! YET you expect the American People to vote for him....

Instead of calling me a liar why don't you prove to me what I said are lies? Just because you say something doesn't mean its true!

WOW you must be worried!! What place would that be? And now you think your reading my mind? Your antenna's are out of whack, they need adjusting whacko! Get off that addiction, its messing up your thought process!

  • Hey Blog Nazi one more thing. I won't be on here until later tonight. Maybe to fill your time void, you can do some high fives with the Amigo's.

  • I am going to the back of the bus. There is a still an emergency exit available there.

No matter what gets said or posted, you can't convince some people that the sky is actually blue or that the villian tying them up on the railroad tracks means them harm.

The entire government is corrupt and has been for a long time. When you feed the greedy, they starve the needy.

I could go on all day with pithy little statements, but here is my stop.

KH Gal, Convincing someone involves persuasion. There are not many attempts at persuasion going on. Participants are in one box or another and once they're boxed up, they're boxed up.

It's just one part of a false dichotomy that we all perpetuate.

Yes, MsM, the states do administer the contracts for projects like those mentioned in the video. However, the MONEY comes from the federal treasury. And along with the money come stringent requirements and a strict approval process.

Since the 1970's, one of the significant requirements for federal funding was a thing called the Buy America clause. It required that steel and iron used in federally funded bridges be made in the USA as well as fabricated in the USA. Exceptions could be granted on a project by project basis for specific types of steel or iron which were either not available or not generally fabricated here at home.

The premise behind Buy America was simple and straightforward. Buying steel from the USA supported mining, energy, transportation and construction industries in all parts of America and assured that the federal money (taken from American taxpayers) was USED in America.

This video would suggest that the long standing practice (supported by both parties for over 40 years) of supporting American industry has been discarded by our current administration. So the miners, steel factories, welders and shipping companies that will profit most are all outside of the US, specifically in China.

Yet another in a growing series of examples of change that this President insists will rebuild this nation?

California turned down federal money. and I'm not sure if the other states did the same. For some reason states can get around Federal

Here's a link that might help understanding that video. I don't have time right now to go through it.

Idea's sure changed going down the generations to MITT!! Can you figure it out it was before Mitts Daddy became rich!

  • They might have meant church welfare instead of Govt. Benefits. Big difference considering the time frame and what the Mormon church offers to their members.

And trust me, he worked hard for that welfare. It wasn't free by any means. Their programs are geared towards work opportunities not handouts.

I posted this video on my Facebook page. One of my Democrat freinds responded the same way you Democrats are. He was saying that it was the states fault and they went around the feds. This is what I told him....

Here is the thing Sherman. There are laws on the books to buy America but the video says the states went around them. Now, this President and his DOJ has had no problem sueing states for "breaking laws" and trying to "disenfranchise" voters. Why not go after these states? And about Romney keeping his money outside the US. Are you talking about the $6.2 million he paid in taxes for 2010-2011. Or are you talking about the $4 million he gave to charity last year? If I had his kind of money, I wouldn't keep it in a place that wanted to tax me to death either. Why should I be more worried about what Romney does with his money versus what the President is doing with ours? And as far as Romney not bringing jobs back to the US... I am atleast willing to give him a shot. WE don't know what he is capable of but, we do know that this administration is not capable of doing it. How many months has unemployment been over 8%??? 40 something now??? Is that still Bush's fault???

He went on to say that Romney would not recover from the video commenting on the middle class...

Romney didn't make a comment about the middle class. He made a comment about 47% of the population. 47% who will vote for Obama no matter what.. FACT (just check the latest polls) 47% who pay no taxes.. FACT (just check the IRS website) 47% who are dependant on the government.. FACT (actually the number is 48.5%).... Everything the man said is a FACT... Why is that so hard to believe and why are the Democrats having trouble accepting FACTS?

Sorry but, (in my Columbo voice) one last thing... Pay attention to Obama in the video. If it is up to the "states" as to whether or not bridges and roads get built and who builds them, why does Obama have a bridge as a backdrop? Hoping to get re-elected, why does he say, "help us rebuild this bridge! Help us rebuild America! Help us put construction workers back to work!" All to the sounds of a cheering crowd. If the state is actually the one who makes the choice, why does Obama even use it as a reference knowing he doesn't have the power to make it happen? Wouldn't that be like a mechanic saying he can fix your car, knowing the whole time that he doesn't have any tools to do it? Wouldn't you call that mechanic a liar? Why don't you say the same thing about Obama? You are part of the 47% that Romney was talking about. The ones who will vote for Obama no matter what. We've already established he's a liar. We've established he's got this country more in debt. We've established more people are on government assistance than ever before. We've established that we are no better off than we were 4 years ago. Unemployment has been over 8% for 40someodd months. They sold guns to the Mexican drug cartels. The debt is heading towards $17 trillion now. And the list could go on. But yet you will vote for this crook over Romney, why? Because Romney hurt your little feelers by saying you were part of the 47%? Because Romney doesn't trust Obama and you say he keeps his money somewhere else? Everything I post about Obama is a fact and the links are provided. Can you please provide links to "FACTS" on what you say Romney has done?

I doubt Sherman and I will be friends in the morning. Just more of the division this President has caused.

  • Somebody brought up private charity. I can vouch for it's effectiveness. I am an atheist but can still see something for what it is.

While on the street, the main charity was the Mormon church. I used very little of their services. Not because of their religion or quality of services. It was because I was prideful and wanted to get myself out of the mess. However, I saw what they did many times and it was quite amazing. Looking back on it as an economist, it makes me wonder if should let charity be mostly private. There was little bureaucracy and it achieved the same goal as our public charity (food stamps and welfare) did.

  • I have been on welfare, foodstamps and other programs. Very difficult to make the transistion to work in some circumstances.

I did, however, make it out with the help of friends, church and family. Some others in the world do not have that same luxury.

There is a story coming out about Obama's supposed poverty referenced in his book. 15 points that are not quite true. I mention this because of the increased static about other candidates and lying.

States may very well go around federal law, that still does not make it right. And if Obama is in charge, he needs to own it.

That is what we have been saying all along. Own your mistakes and take your licks. Quit spinning things.

The difference between him and Romney is that he as been President for the past 4 years. It is not Bush's fault that he got elected. Nor is it Bush's fault that he has failed to do the job in hand.

Instead, we see one continous round of campaigning from the get go and executive orders when he didn't get his way. Or blame blame blame.

We have the right to hold him to the standard of the office. To critque his performance. To sift through the excuses.

Any CEO who comes into a business that is failing will tell you that the blame game only goes so far before you are held accountable for your own decisions. They will also tell you that 4 years is plenty of time to turn things around and not make them worse.

You cannot persuade anyone to think for themselves. If they are on a collision course with destiny, they will not swerve from it for any reason including catastrophes We can make arguments until we are blue in the face, but at the end of the day, What we see as an individual will always differ from someone elses point of view.

Hence the division. Had Obama suceeded in uniting this country instead of making the great divide even wider and deeper, we would have all cheered him on.

Why is he so special and exempt from blame? Every other president has taken their licks and a few have even learned from the backlash.

  • Give a man a welfare check, a free cell phone with unlimited free minutes, cash for his clunker, food stamps, section 8 housing, free contraceptives, Medicaid, ninety-nine weeks of unemployment, free meds, and he will vote for Democrats the rest of his life, even after he's dead.

  • Funny----Obama's aunt and uncle (illegals) are on welfare. Up until a short time ago, his aunt had been in this country illegally. Ms. Rummy got into a great debate with me over this.

So Obama does not have clean hands either as far as welfare in his family. And his uncle is a drunk with a criminal history. Any guess why he is still in the US---illegally?

Interesting how the double standard works here. Needing welfare is no crime, the abuse of welfare should be.

I must be on his list too. I am honored. I was feeling left out until he made his insightful remarks.

Bottom Line: MsM isn't going to change her mind ever. She is having too much fun. Wayne will always sneak into the movies. Lamont is a puzzle to me. I respect him and empathize with him. I have never been in his shoes, but I do know what it is like not to feel as though I belong. It can leave deep wounds.

  • I also could care less if these people vote for Obama. It won't make one difference in the outcome for Idaho has always been solidly Republican. But, if someone gets on here and lies and distorts the truth about Romney, conservatives and what have you, I won't let that pass. But you're right, these people are having too much fun thinking they matter enough to upset other people. I agree, no more feeding the trolls.

  • Yes, that bothers me too SW. We should protect our children regardless of what political party we belong to.

I don't believe that kicking a person when they have fallen from grace serves any purpose.

I will stand up and express my own beliefs, but not get in anyone's face, if they don't believe the same way.

Some horses no matter how you attempt to bribe them won't go through the barn door.

Most cows would prefer to jump a fence and tear it down than go through a gate.

Second Wind, how would you know if someone "lies or distorts the truth about Romney"?

None of us has first hand information on any candidate that runs for office, save a few that may personally know a candidate.

How do you discern between truth, distortion or outright lie?

"Obvious lie # 2 would be attempting to make hay with Romney's realistic, and so far, statistically accurate 47% comment."

    -- Posted by Buckshot61 on Mon, Sep 24, 2012, at 7:52 PM

So of the comments made that night in Boca Raton, which category would these comments fall under? Truth, Distortion, or Outright Lie?

47% of Americans are "dependent on government"

47% of Americans "believe they are victims"

47% of Americans "will vote for the President (Obama we can presume) no matter what"

-- Posted by Dave Thompson on Tue, Sep 25, 2012, at 11:36 AM
  • Dave:

they all lie, we know that.

Fact: there is a larger portion of Americans who depend on the goverment than 4 years ago. if you count foodstamps and other relief.

Fact: There are Americans out there that believe that the Government owes them something. Maybe not as many as 47%

I think that 47% of the American people will vote for Obama based on emotion, party lines and other reasons.

While, we have the recording of Romney's comments, do we have what questions may have been asked? I don't think judging from what I have seen that he was actually giving the speech, but having a conversation. I could be wrong on this.

And should we parse these facts when the WH can't make up their mind about Terrorist Attacks or Allies?
