Buttermilk Biscuits
2-Cups flour
1-TBsp baking powder
1-TBsp sugar
1/4-Tsp baking soda
1/2-Tsp salt
6-TBsp butter or baking margarine
3/4-Cup buttermilk
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl
Cut 6 TBsp butter off a stick of it, cut length wise turn 90 degrees and cut again then slice into small cubes
Add the butter to the dry ingredients keeping the cubes of butter all covered with the flour.
It helps to let the butter soften a bit in the flour mixture
Add the buttermilk and mix with pie crust tool until all the buttermilk is mixed in, you don't have to try to get all the butter mixed in small pieces of it will be ok. Mix the dough to the point it doesn't stick to your hands,(may need more flour or buttermilk, you have to be the judge on that)
Once mixed roll the dough out on a floured surface 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick, cut with a cookie cutter or glass.
Put on a baking sheet and bake at 425 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. (Based on the baking sheet you may want to add a bit of vegetable spray to the sheet before adding the biscuits)
