Sweet and Sour Sauce

I already know you are going to think I am crazy and this combo just can't work but it really does

2 14 ounce bottles of Ketchup

2 14 ounce jars of grape jelly, (Do Not use Grape Jam)

1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 Teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 Coarsely ground black pepper

1/4 Teaspoon salt or just leave the salt out if you like

A slow cooker works well for doing it and if you have a fondue pot that is a great way to serve it

Once the sauce is slow cooked, make bite size meatballs of your choice and add them to the sauce and cook them in the sauce, Don't over cook them or they will get dryed out.

You can also just spoon them out of the sauce onto a saucer and have toothpicks on hand for sticking into the meatballs for the purpose of eating.

Sauce also works well for doing lil smokies instead of meatballs

The left over sauce can be frozen but will lose some of the taste when thawed

Another point if you want to make more or less of the sauce use a measuring cup only rule there is to use equal amounts of the Ketchup and Grape Jelly

Was my whole idea to share recipes that have been around for a long time, some from the net and some I have put together, Just hope everyone enjoys them. Will try to keep them simple and hope that I put them on the blog so everyone understands them, if you should have a question on one of them ask and I will try to answer if I know the answer

No workingbee I don't have that recipe but sounds like you could just layer whatever you would like in a baking dish and go for it

Tator Tot Casserole:

In a 2 qt casserole dish layer:

1 lb hamburger

1/2 onion sliced thin

1 bag frozen Tator Tots

Pour 1 can of Cream of Mushroom soup over the top.

Bake covered @ 375 for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

I like to add mushrooms and minced garlic before the onions. I also salt an pepper the burger. Add just about anything you like. I like spicy so jalapinos or hot sauce mixed into the soup works well for me.

If you put down shredded cheddar then your tots also makes it really creamy.

Eagle when it comes time for Christmas cookies and really easy candies let me know have a few the whole family can do together with very little mess.

Love this blog BTW.
