Ethnic Diversity
There are many who consider the deep south and all as racist. Then there are some who say that some who creep up over our southern borders both legally and otherwise are taking our jobs.
I'll tell you this, when ever I really needed help whether that's fixing a rig, or if I got short on cash and needed to bumb a can of SKOAL, I usually can depend on a Mexican American, more than I can of anyone white.
The Knytes-of-Anarchy's eastern Idaho rep is Mexican American, Joe Prunenda. As well as one of my best friends.
Years ago, and this touched me deep, when the holidays came and I was all bumbed out for being all alone, there was not one White person in Blackfoot that even said hey come eat Turkey dinner with me or my family, or even thought enough to give me a gift for all the months I'd been fixing rides there for Christmas, but Joe came over, on both and welcomed me to his family. His dad got to know me as well as his mom and such. I was part of his family. When I was trying to build a client base for the shop there as well as the tow truck it was Joe that got the word out that got me business coming in.
Why then am I here in western Idaho?
Blackfoot is too close to Pocatello and we all know the story there, if it was not for that and had I been able to find all that I have here there I would have moved there.
And now that I'm here who said come over for Thanksgiving, Joe.
Who will be working with me here in GF both in the shop, and tow truck, a friend of mine who is of the Mexican/American natonality.
So when many cuss out mexican/Americans for taking jobs etc, hey I'll trust a mexican-American faster than I would most white folks.
By the way there's an event going on in Mountain Home that I will tell you in my next blog.
