American Music Awards Predictions

The 2009 American Music Awards is scheduled for November 22, 2009 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The nominees were announced on October 13, 2009.

Here are my predictions for the key categories at the AMA's.

Artist of the Year

Winner-Michael Jackson

Like Heath Ledger at the Oscar's this will almost be a tribute to the king of pop in honoring them as artist of the year, if not Michael Jackson then it will most likely go to Lady Gaga

Pop/Rock

Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist

* Eminem

* Michael Jackson

* T.I.

Winner-T.I.

As much as I would like to go for Eminem, T.I. put out an amazing album with "Paper Trail", unfortunately he's currently incarcerated, but nonetheless, T.I. should still get recognized for this category.

Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist

* Beyonce

* Lady Gaga

* Taylor Swift

Winner-Taylor Swift

Only on the sympathy the fans will still have after the Kanye VMA incident, but I wouldn't be shy to choose Beyonce either.

Favorite Pop/Rock Band, Duo or Group

* The Black Eyed Peas

* Nickleback

Personally, I can't stand Nickleback, they are so not Rock N' Roll' it's not even funny, but anyway Kings of Leon had a solid 2009, and "Use Somebody" is on pace to be the top selling single of the year.

Only on name alone am I choosing this category, although I never heard any of these albums.

Don't get me wrong I am a fan of all three artists, but have you guys heard "Blueprint 3", yet it is awesome plus Jay-Z was recently named the "Hottest MC in the game" by MTV surpassing Lil' Wayne, Drake and Kanye West among others.

Winner-Green Day

Sure Kings of Leon had the better year, but Green Day put an awesome record and "21 Guns" is one of the best videos of the year.

This will not likely to happen, but this guy has an amazing voice and was robbed at not winning American Idol.

As much as it pains to me to write this, she has had an amazing year and is living up the role as the "Modern Day" Madonna.
