IRONMAN 2 Review
Posted Wednesday, May 19, at 6:27 PM Well hello everybody, the Reel Review is back from "hiatus" to give you the scoop on the films of 2010. This week, my review is for Iron Man 2, the first big blockbuster of the 2010 summer movie season. The film continues the story six months after the first film, where Tony Stark played by Robert Downey, Jr. is relishing in his newfound fame as Ironman and fulfills his father's dream by opening the Stark Expo...
(The countdown continues...) 5. The Hangover I have said this movie was the best comedy this year, but this movie was quite possibly one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Todd Phillips, who directed another comedic classic Old School directed a solid film oddly enough with a B-Level cast as the lead actors (Justin Bartha, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifinakis). Also, the scene of Mike Tyson air drumming to "In The Air Tonight" by Genesis was one of the best scenes of the year...
Top 10 Worst Movies of 2009 (1-5) 5. Law Abiding Citizen (Note, that this won't be the first time Gerard Butler makes this list.) Now going into this movie, I had the conception this was a revenge story, where Butler is a character who avenges the death of his wife and child, but turns from hero to villain and corrupt DA Jamie Foxx pursues him to bring him to justice. ...
Best Motion Picture, Drama 'Avatar' 'The Hurt Locker' 'Inglourious Basterds' 'Precious' 'Up in the Air' PREDICTION: The only film in this category I saw this year so far was Inglourious Basterds, so on viewing alone I would choose this film, but usually with awards you go with hype and the two movies in this category that have garnered the most hype would be Up In The Air and Hurt Locker, my guess Hurt Locker would win in this category...
The epic holiday Dickens tale, "A Christmas Carol," is retold through the mind of director Robert Zemeckis and by Jim Carrey who not only play the lead role of Ebenezer Scrooge, but in fact plays seven other characters in the film. In the film, Scrooge, a bitter and miserly old moneylender, holds everything that embodies the joys and spirit of Christmas in contempt, keeping to himself and being nasty to people, including his employee Bob Cratchit (Gary Oldman)...
Well the time has come for all you "Twi-Hards" out there, with New Moon recently opening in theaters. Films have created quite the enthusiastic buzz, around both the public and the media, but I don't remember a series of films getting such as buzz as Twilight...
MVP-Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts This is a two horse race between Manning and Brees, but Manning despite the loss of legendary wide receiver Marvin Harrison is having a career year and through his effort this season, he has made names out of rookie wide outs Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon and aiding in a successful debut year for Jim Caldwell as the head coach. Not to mention, the Colts are 8-0...

The fall classic is now official, the Bronx Bombers (New York Yankees) will square off against the defending world champions (Philadelphia Phillies) starting Wednesday at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees entered this regular season on a mission to win their 27th World Championship, no one made such a splash in the free agent market like the Yankees, with three acquisitions and close to $300 million dollars later, the Yankees brought in their new aces CC Sabathia and AJ Burnett and their star at first base Mark Teixera.. ...

Well I got two out of the four LCS teams right, 50% ain't all that bad. I never would have seen the Cardinals who are on a roll after picking up Matt Holiday had a smooth road to the LCS, but the Dodgers pulled off the surprising sweep. But in the end, the four best teams in the league are rightfully in the LCS. ...
The MLB Playoffs begin tonight with three games, two in the National League (Dodgers vs. Cardinals, Phillies vs. Rockies) and one in the American League (Yankees vs. Twins). Now onto the playoffs in the American League, the AL East Champion New York Yankees will square off against the AL Central Champions (clinched last night) Minnesota Twins and the AL West Champion Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will take on the Wild Card Champion Boston Red Sox...
Movies made from TV shows, sure a concept that has begun to wear thin, nowadays movies based off comic books and super heroes are the craze. But just recently I heard the news, that there will be a movie based on the classic TV series, "The A-Team", and I was ecstatic...
The 2009 Video Music Awards brought its fair share of memorable and shocking moments to the stage at Radio City Music Hall. The award show began with Madonna making her way to the central stage for the special Michael Jackson tribute, a time that Madonna spoke from her heart about what the "King of Pop" meant to her and as she said "an amazing talent that we led slip through the cracks."...

With a new football season on the horizon, this week's blog is a look at my picks for favorite football movies. 1. 2000-Remember The Titans Not to say one of the greatest football movies ever, but one of the greatest sports movies ever. Denzel Washington, is at the top of his game, as Coach Herman Boone in the true story of a newly appointed African-American coach and his high school team on their first season as a racially integrated unit...
I have been a fan of the San Francisco 49ers and Giants since I was 10 years old, back in the days when Joe Montana and Jerry Rice were dominating the NFL, and when Will Clark and Kevin Mitchell were leading the Giants to the World Series. Nowadays, the 49ers have gone through numerous quarterbacks in an ongoing, never-ending rebuilding period. ...
If anybody had the Eagles, in your Michael Vick pool, your are a winner. Of all the teams, that were discussed to sign the former Atlanta Falcon, included the New England Patriots, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Carolina Panthers and for a short while, my team the San Francisco 49ers. (WHY!!!!!, why did we not sign him?)...
