So, How's That Workin' For Ya?

This Memorial Day means a lot to me, especially on the eve of the primary elections. Much has been sacrificed for that which too many of us take for granted today. Our founding fathers made it happen. There was some in-house squabbling in 1861 to 1865, (the South has always vowed to "rise again"......and they probably SHOULD, along with the rest of us).

We most likely didn't need to get involved in World War I. Our fathers and uncles came from behind to win World War II in just 3 and a half years. America never stood taller. Every conflict since then has been a U.N. Resolution.

We don't work for the U.N., and I wish McCain and Obama understood that.

I don't ever want to see us all under ONE world flag. Washington, Adams and Jefferson didn't want it, Lincoln through Reagan didn't want it, and neither Does Ron Paul.

This particular Memorial Day is very somber for me. I was wounded and "orange-sprayed" myself, back in '68, and I don't want our country GIVEN AWAY.

Because I'd finally reached the "Popeye attitude,".....("That's all I can stands, I can't stands no more!")..........I jumped aboard the Ron Paul movement, and for the first time in my life, I've really gotten politically active. Mainly because I have a great wife, wonderful kids and grandkids, who will have enough to take on as it is, without them having to learn Spanish and Chinese, and that's what's coming if the thieves and backstabbers in Washington D.C. are allowed to continue.

Primary is Tuesday. This past week, I've finished getting road signs put out, pamphlets delivered, and I've talked to people. Seeing the magnetic signs on my car, some people approached ME, asking information about Congressman Paul, and naturally, I was glad to give out info and DVD's, but got angry on occasion, also. If the mainstream media wasn't so left wing biased, NO ONE would have to ask me, "Who's Ron Paul?" That alone, is shameful.

Of those I've talked to one-on-one, most have been very receptive, genuinely wanting to make an informed choice on Tuesday. Others couldn't care less, and will go with the names they see on TV all the time. And hey.........that's good.........freedom of choice......(as of 2008 anyway).

When I've talked to those who didn't even want to HEAR about Ron, I have to assume they're content with our current government. The taxes, the illegals, the war, the economy...I guess everything's ok. McCain's an extension of Bush, Obama tells us what he wants to do, but can't tell us anything he's accomplished thus far as a Senator, so we just have to take his word, his charm and personality.

Unlike "Moe. Larry and Curly," Ron's voting record in the Congress BACKS UP everyting he says.

Folks, the old "Bazookaman" here, doesn't know where YOU stand, but the following list is VALIDATED by Ron Paul's Congressional voting record: He has NEVER:

voted to raise taxes

voted for an unbalanced budget

voted to raise Congressional pay

taken a government-paid junket

He voted AGAINST the Iraq War, (but voted FOR getting Bin Laden)

He voted AGAINST keeping us in the 1-world-order United nations

He will ELIMINATE the IRS as well as the Death Tax

He voted AGAINST amnesty for illegals

He voted AGAINST welfare for illegals

He voted AGAINST birthright citizenship

He voted AGAINST the Patriot Act

He voted AGAINST the "National I.D. Card"

He voted AGAINST the Assault Weapons Ban

He voted AGAINST tax dollars to the anti-gun U.N.

He voted AGAINST taxes on tips

He does NOT support "Socialized Medicine"

He voted AGAINST NAFTA and is deadset AGAINST the NAU

Congressman Paul SUPPORTS the following:

Our Constitution in its entirety

Making all medical expenses tax deductible

Allowing patients to buy cheaper prescription drugs from other countries

Health freedom and alternative medicines

He supports the 1st Amendment. McCain/Feingold does NOT

He supports the 2nd Amendment. The Democrats do not (McCain is shaky here as well).

He voted to allow pilots to carry guns in cockpits

He wants ALL of our overseas bases closed, with our military folks guarding OUR shores, not everyone else's

Our tax dollars are for AMERICA, as per the Constitution, our job isn't to help everyone ELSE's economy---as per Ron Paul (and our 9th Amendment).

Ron says "We aren't the world's policeman, and we need to stay out of things that don't concern us." (Didn't George Washington himself mention something about "staying out of foreign affairs"?)

Ron Paul says "America FIRST", before it's gone

The way things are going in this country, we may never have this opportunity again. Let's do something RIGHT for a change......and we NEED change. Vote for RON PAUL........for yourself, for our kids......for our grandkids...........for our country. As in....OUR country.

Unless of course you're satisfied with business as usual. If you're ok with having your wallet fleeced, if you don't mind the illegals, and China's economy takeover, if it's alright with you that our government keeps giving billions to foreign countries while we're paying four bucks a gallon and heading into a recession, if you don't mind being spied on and controlled, then by all means..........go vote for McCain or Obama. Next time you visit a Veteran's Cemetary, though; just remember to tell them "Thanks, but no thanks."

TWO FINAL QUESTIONS..............How do YOU feel about the above list of issues............but most importantly..........where does "YOUR CANDIDATE" stand?

"GIVE IT A REST, will ya Bazookaman?" I'm voting for the mainstream boys..........I'm supporting the names I KNOW about, and I've ALWAYS gone along with the majority! Do you understand?"

Yep. Sure do. And as Dr. Phil says......"How's that been workin' for ya?"

Have you considered the fact that your vote will be a "wasted" vote. It is pretty obvious that there will be two candidates that we all need to decide on. I think to vote for someone that is obviously "not in the running" is very unpatriotic. It is as bad as not voting at all.

No yniashi......to vote for people who disregard our Constitution is very "unpatriotic."

To vote for those who would sell us out to the U.N. is very "unpatriotic."

To vote for someone who won't wear a flag pin, nor cover his heart during the pledge of allegiance is very "unpatriotic."

To vote for someone who will willingly drag out an undeclared war is very "unpatriotic" as well as unconstitutional.

To vote for someone who would squelch our 1st, 2nd and 9th Amedments is very "unpatriotic."

To vote for candidates who favor amnesty, and Social Security for illegals, isn't real "patriotic either.

You're probably right about November, though. Most people seem to vote as the media tells them to. Despite whatever numbers come up, you ARE probably right................it probably WILL be one Democrat against the other in November.

In which case.......I'll do what I can to help get some good Congressional and Senatorial candidates in. If it IS McCain and Obama at the top, I'll do a "write-in" before I'd vote for either of those idiots.

I have not.........and never WILL, vote for one of 2 known knuckleheads, if there's a GOOD man still on the ballot, no matter what his standing is.

As for "wasted votes", you may be pretty surprised Tuesday night when you see how many "wasted votes" there are going to be!

OMG! That has got to be the stupidest statement I've heard all week ynia. When you vote you are saying who you agree with. NOT who is electable. Its tools like you that hold Collectivism > Freedom!

Here is a great link that explains the difference.

It's like if someone asked you........."How would you prefer to be robbed? Having your house broken into, or your garage?"

The CORRECT answer is: "I'd prefer not to be robbed at ALL, if it can be helped."

Paul gets my Vote.

The most wasted vote I ever cast was for George Bush.

When I voted for him, I voted for illegal immigration, police state, huge deficits, and bigger federal government.

This I did so as to choose the "lesser of two evils".

I threw my vote away on Mexico when I voted for Mr. Bush, so I figure why not take a gamble on the maverick Ron Paul, can't get much worse and if it does, lets force them to bring it to a head and see if they are as willing to die for one world government as patriots are willing to die for the USA.

Right on. People don't realize they DO have choices BEYOND what the media says. I voted for Bush in 2000, after supporting Alan Keyes in the primary. By 2004, I'd had enough of both Bush and this "new" GOP. I voted for the Constitutional candidate, whose name now escapes me, but like Alan Keyes...and now Ron Paul, that guy ALSO stood for America and our Constitution.

The saddest situation is when you really like the "maverick" but because the media and its blind followers keep repeating to you that he "has no chance", you start believing it yourself, then end up voting defensively..........ie: "Gotta keep Gore out, even if it means voting for Bush to do it."

If people would just be a little bold, and vote their CONSCIENCE, we could RID our government of these jackals we seem to get stuck with. History has proven that everyone has a chance.

There is no law that says we HAVE to vote for Obama, Hillary or McCain. I've been voting for nearly 40 years now, and have YET to see any voter anywhere forced into a polling booth at gunpoint............we don't HAVE to vote for ANYBODY. It's still our choice, until the wrong people take the country over.................which in itself is reason enough to vote for Ron Paul!

As for willingness to die, Ritewing, I have long prepared for the resistence. I fought in Vietnam for someone ELSE's freedoms....I'm darned sure willing to fight for OURS. Unlike Vietnam, Iraq, Korea, etc.........this one WILL be for America, and this time it'll be for a just cause.

Ok, buddy.....let's all get out there today and do something GOOD for America!

It looks like about 1/5 of the votes cast were wasted on Ron Paul. He doesn't stand a chance, but it's your vote to do with what you please.

I like your idea about everyone voting their conscience, but until everyone is going to do it, I feel that it is a waste for some to do it. That is how the worst candidates sometimes win. You take votes away from the second best to vote for the best and end up with the worst. Just my opinion.

He will ELIMINATE the IRS as well as the Death Tax???? He will or he would like to? Candidates are always talking about what they are going to do, but it rarely comes to fruition.

You talk about he media telling you who to vote for, but you seem to be doing that very thing. You have a blog promoted by a news paper and you are telling people who to vote for.

We live in a world today that Washington did not. Threats can come from anywhere and very quickly. To ignore threats in other parts of the world simply because they haven't attacked us doesn't seem like a good policy to me. 911 taught me that you have to be vigilant. That means a lot of things to a lot of people, but to me it means that we can't turn our backs and leave tyrants unchecked.

The difference between Congressman Paul and the rest of them, is that he has a congressional voting record that backs up everything he says.

And of COURSE I'm telling the readers who the best choice is....SOMEONE has to tell folks about a good candidate, seeing as how the MEDIA won't.

Just because they haven't attacked us again, doesn't mean they haven't put enough terrorist cells in our country to get something ready............DO keep in mind that we STILL haben't secured our borders, and the terrorists are still free to sneak on over along with the Mexicans anytime they so desire.

You didn't mention your party affiliation, IdahoBorn, but if you happen to be a Republican, it is a DEFINITE "wasted vote" to support a candidate who is as liberal as whoever his November opponent turns out to be.

Along with the Congress they already have, the Democrats are headed for the White House as well, no matter WHO wins in November. This fall, it'll be one Democrat running against the other, and you can't PICK a "worst candidate" of the three. Besides, out of 300 million+ people, we shouldn't HAVE to settle for this "lesser of 2 evils" garbage, especially when we have a GOOD choice out there.

Absolutely..we need to be vigilent. This means paying attention to what's going on in our country, instead of who the guest star is on Oprah, who will be left standing on "Dancining with the Stars", or who will win the "American Idol).

It means SECURING our borders, throwing the illegals out, and using our troops to guard OUR country instead of everyone else's.

As Ptesident, Ron Paul WOULD have the media coverage he needs, and ridding ourselves of the IRS would just be a matter of him being able to tell the public on national television about that corrupt agency. If EVERYONE knew that there IS NO statute ANTWHERE authorizing a personal income tax (ask ANY IRS agent to show you one. He cannot), the American public itself would rise and get it shut down.

Most people don't know about things like that, because TV news seems to be their "Gospel." Hopefully things will change.

I predict it'll be business as usual for the next 4 years, and when it declines even FURTHER..........the public will still gripe and moan....and they'll still walk right back into the polls in 2012 and vote the same kind of idiots RIGHT BACK IN...........right?

You feel it's unpatriotic to vote for some one who isn't even running? What if you don't agree with the two choices you do have? Should you just stay home and not vote? I think Bazooka is right we as American's need to stop voting with our parties and start voting for what is best for us. We need to stop living in fear and start taking our lives into our hands, the Government has the power they do because the majority gave up.

We really need to stop letting the media control our choices in life. I'm sure some of you believe that the media doesn't control much but sit down and seriously give it some thought. Don't you think if the media was a fair venue this country wouldn't have been pigeon hold to only 3 candidates? When it comes to something as important as a Presidental election it shouldn't be about who can AFFORD to place ads on the local networks, and the media should remain unbiased and just report. The media should be providing all of the information to US and we should be able to make informed decisions based on what is provided, instead we get partial info at best and only in the direction that Media and Government see fit so the end result is exactly as they want it to be.

We need realize that we, as adults, have the ability to think for ourselves, we know right from wrong, and given the right circumstances we can even raise our children with out the help of our NOSEY Government.

Why don't we start taking US back, stop letting the Government dupe us into believing that they know what is best for us, stop allowing the Government run our lives.

It may be that some of you are thinking I'm paranoid, I've read the same comment to Bazooka so I consider myself in good company!!!!

-- Posted by Missylynn on Tue, Jun 3, 2008, at 10:43 AM

You aren't paranoid, Missylynn. You've just got your eyes and ears open, with your brain engaged at the same time, which of course, makes you a minority in this country these days.

As for taking the U.S. back, that isn't going to happen until the American public gets beat up and robbed some more. Heck, they might even wake up, realize what is actually happening in this country, then JUMP up, SPEAK up and JOIN us "paranoid radicals."

And Missylynn.......you are in BETTER company than you think. Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Hancock, Hale and a host of others.

Thet were "radicals" too.
