Florence “Bobbye” Rogers

Bobbye went flying with the angels on April 14, 2024, at the sweet age of 103. She was born on August 1, 1920 , grew up in Tacoma WA, and married Harold Rogers in 1941. Together they moved to Mountain Home and built the HiLander Motel. After divorcing she became a single mother of 5 children and worked to raise them, literally, around the clock. They are Larry Rogers, Cheryl Barker, Karen Holliday, Kris Taylor and Rick Rogers.

The loves of her life were her 8 grandchildren: Michael, Leanna, Ryan, Jade, Eric, Jamie, Joey, and Stacy. Her great grandchildren: Jennifer, Stephanie, Rafe, Dyllan, Kenna, Regan, Cade, Sam, Kayla, Hunter, Arianna, Markus, Chloe and Vivian. And her great-great grandchildren: Annalee and Abel.

Bobbye owned and managed the motel and bar/restaurant for 20 years. She later worked for Elmore County and retired from the Court house. She loved golfing, bowling, and fishing in Syrup Creek, where she will be put to rest. Her grandson, Ryan, put it best. “Her quick witted humor never aged and she could give you a one-liner on most subjects, faster than lightening. She was an avid and passionate golfer into her late 90’s. Out on the links with a cold can of Bud was her comfort zone. Even though it’s never easy saying goodbye, it’s fitting that her last days were on Master’s weekend. I hope wherever she is, she’s already on the back nine with a cold one…with the energy for 36 holes…and is one-putting every green.”

May your beautiful soul rest in peace.
