Wanda Cheney Little

Wanda Cheney Little age 92, of Mountain Home, passed away peacefully at home November 1, 2022. A grave side service will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the Driggs Cemetery, in Driggs, Idaho.

Wanda was born in a small log home in Wilson Teton, Wyoming to David Henry Cheney and Lil Huff Cheney, December 17, 1929.

On June 23, 1941, Wanda married Whitney Kimball Little in the home of her Brother Edward Cheney in Jackson, Wyoming. They made their first home in Driggs, Idaho.

In September 1948, they moved to Rigby, Idaho, where their son Kenneth Cheney Little was born, Nine months later they moved to Kennewick, Washington. They lived there for nine years; where Whitney worked for the government. During their time in Kennewick, their second son was born Glen Charles Little. In 1959, they moved to Mountain Home, Idaho. Where their daughter was born Joy Ann Little, on their fourteenth wedding Anniversary.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was a great part of Wanda’s life. Wanda helped organize the first quilting group in 1964. Wanda was quilt-chairman for 46 years. With aging hands, Wanda found it was hard to hand-quilt. So, Wanda and Whitney together, ventured out and learned to use along arm-quilting machine. Their talents of quilt making, has blessed thousands in Humanitarian aid all over the world. When the Boise Temple was built, Wanda and Whitney served two missions as temple guides. And member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Wanda’s adventures in life lead her to service for others, she taught classes in breadmaking, sewing, quilting, 4-H, farming, canning, porcelain dolls, oil painting, cake decorating.

Wanda’s greatest achievement in her life, was being a mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Wanda is survived by sons Kenneth Little and wife Vivian, Glen Little and wife Sharon, daughter Joy Norstebon and husband Robert. Grandchildren Courtney Beardall and husband Dallas, Aaron Little, Clinton Little and wife Shelby, Samantha Ronnebaum and husband Michael, Sandy Palmer and husband James, Emily Norstebon. Great Grand children Zac Beardall and Katie, Amber Beardall-Butz and husband Luke, Megan Wardell and Husband Colton, Kate Beardall, Nate Little, Hayley Little, Sophia Little, Cameron Little, Isaac Little, Claire Little, Benjamin Little, Abigail Ronnebaum, Annalyse Palmer, Alyssa Palmer, Adam Palmer and Ava Joy Palmer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters, and her husband Whitney.
