Mountain Home, Idaho - Daniel Arthur Dorman 1945-2021(aka: Pawther; Grandpap) was an incredibly blessed man. He was literally surrounded by a few of his most treasured family members when he passed away on November 24, 2021 with Jesus in his heart. He was born on September 29, 1945 to James Estes Dorman and Ilena Mae (Johnson) Dorman in Wendell, Idaho.

Dan had a son and a daughter, Dan Laird and Carla Ostic, when he was married to his first wife. His second wife already had one daughter when they met and then they went on to have a son and a daughter together. He was married a third time and they didn't have any children together. Dan never spoke negatively about any of his wives with his family and he said he had a special place in his heart for each one of them.

Dan was funny and he loved to laugh and tell jokes. He was almost always more than willing to laugh, this was one of his most endearing qualities.

Dan rodeoed and rode bulls. He always said riding bulls was his favorite thing to do in life. He would say that it was like he was strapping himself to a thousand pounds of "hate" when he was in the chute and the rush and excitement was more addictive than any drug. He won 1st place buckles twice as a bull rider and said those were the hardest earned articles of clothing a guy could ever have.

Here are some of the many things Dan did throughout his life. He was a cowboy and loved it even when it wasn't fun. He farmed and loved it even though it was not as exciting as being a cowboy. He drove trucks for literally millions of miles. He hauled cattle and corn and fertilizer at Simplot before retiring from there in the early 90's. He helped run a residential care facility. He helped run a funeral home. He was a successful entrepreneur and owned and operated several trucking businesses. He owned a successful truck washing business. He painted residential home interiors and exteriors. He broke and trained horses. He rode motorcycles across the country multiple times. He worked in production at Micron. He worked at Wilson and Dodge in Mountain Home, G&B in Nampa, and Thueson Construction in Nampa. He loved reloading ammunition, casting his own bullets and shooting guns. He built high mountain roads where only game trails existed beforehand. He cut building sites out of sides of mountains.

He operated dozers, graders, loaders, excavators, combines, tractors and many other pieces of Earth moving equipment and he was more than notably proficient at doing these things.

Dan was always ready to go. He was up for an adventure whenever one of his most loved family members wanted to do something. That is, unless precipitation was likely. He loved being in the woods and riding ATV's, especially if it was with his family. Dan lived for and loved his grandchildren.

Dan is survived by his children including Dustin (Julie) Dorman of Boise, Ivy Jenks of Gooding, Monica (Dan) Lisee of Boise, and his grandchildren: Frizzle Britches (Felicia), Anneeconda (Annee), Domino (Dominick), Gabester (Gabriel), Pacman (Porter), Catmandu (Taha), Graceebug (Grace), and Tootlebug (Maggie May). He also leaves behind two brothers, Harve Dorman of Boise and Jim (Bev) Dorman of Brookfield, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother Larry Dorman.
