An alarming report revealed a 15 percent increase in military suicides, new bipartisan effort would streamline suicide prevention efforts at the DOD

10.26.21 - Washington, D.C.-- Following an alarming report revealing a 15 percent increase in military suicides in 2020 from the year before, U.S. Senators Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and Jim Risch (R-Idaho) joined U.S. Senators Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Mark Kelly (D-Arizona) in urging the Pentagon to take immediate action to step up suicide prevention efforts with their Save Our Servicemembers (S.O.S.) Act, which directs the Pentagon to evaluate the effectiveness of their suicide prevention efforts and to improve its data collection, reduce bureaucratic duplication and strengthen collaboration between its offices.
