Jerry R. Carrico, 88, of Mountain Home, peacefully passed away on 18 August 2021 at the Boise VA hospital of natural causes after leading a long full life.

Jerry was born in Mountain Home, on April 14, 1933, to Joe and Mildred Carrico. He grew-up during the great depression and rose from extremely humble beginnings to become successful in the contracting and oil distribution industries.

Jerry married Marilyn Jones in 1959 in McCammon, Idaho. They were blessed with three sons, Terry (Conny) of Prairie, Mickey of Mountain Home, and Greg (Florence) of Cibolo, Texas.

Jerry’s three grandchildren, Maya, Josh, and Brian, brought him great joy. He was proud of their accomplishments.

Jerry graduated Mountain Home High School in 1952 where he excelled as a four-sport varsity athlete. His athletic ability drew the attention of Boise State College football Coach Lyle Smith who recruited him to play football. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he became an Early Warning Ground Radar Operator stationed on the Distance Early Warning (DEW) Line in the Alaska territory tracking Russian aircraft. He is a Veteran of the Korean conflict.

Jerry would later go on to own the Philips 66 bulk fuel distribution plant providing fuel to the air base and local ranchers/farmers across Elmore and Owyhee counties. Jerry also established JC Enterprises and as a general contractor bid and completed countless construction projects on the air base.

Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed many outdoor adventures over the years with his close friend Wayne. In his later life, he was a passionate Master Gardener spending most of his retirement tending to his garden and supplying friends and neighbors with fresh fruits and vegetables.

Jerry was preceded in death by wife (Marilyn), parents (Joe and Mildred), three brothers (Boyd, Sammy, David), and two sisters (Gloria, Sally). He leaves behind two sisters Joann and Darlene.
