Richard (Dick) M Wyma, beloved husband of Jill B. Wyma, passed away Aug. 10 from heart failure and associated complications. Services will be held at his home in Cascade on Aug 21st at 2pm. Cremation was under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Dick was born in Greenville South Carolina on March 10, 1948. He later moved with his family to California where he was raised with his younger brother Mark Wyma, and his sister Karla Perkey.

Dick was a bit of a rascal in his younger days and it was strongly suggested that he enter the military. He joined the Air Force where he was gainfully employed for more than 20 years. While serving in Spokane, Washington Dick met the love of his life, Jill Lacey. They married in a civil service in 1974. While on active duty they were stationed in Washington, Montana, Germany, California, and finally, Idaho where he retired in 1992. After retirement Dick went to school and became a plumber. Later he decided that plugged drains and broken pipes were not his cup of tea so he changed professions, and fulfilled his lifelong dream of being a truck driver. He and Jill traveled the country and beyond together, pilot and navigator.

Richard Wyma was first and foremost a family man. He and Jill raised three children, Dawn Lahtinen, James (Jim) Wyma, and Matthew Wyma. It was a combined family where the word step was never heard. He taught his family, and extended family, what it means to have integrity and to be a person of value. Although short in stature, Richard was always a man to be looked up to. He said what he meant and meant what he said. He was the family super hero.

He is survived by his Wife of 47 years, Jill Wyma, his daughter Dawn Lahtinen (with Larry Priest), his son James Wyma (with Jenni Wyma), 8 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

He will be missed.
