Lola Lee (Lollie) Mikolajczyk 83 passed away peacefully on August 8, 2021, in Mountain Home, ID, at a local assisted living facility.

Lola was born in Helena, Montana, on July 10, 1938, to Irvin (Babe) Glineski and Orbana McKelvey. The family later sold the family ranch and lived in Mountain City, Nevada, while Irvin worked at the Rio Tinto Copper Mine. They moved to Bruneau, Idaho, in 1947, where her father operated a well drilling business. Lola graduated from Bruneau High School in 1956 where she met Theodore (Ted) Mikolajczyk, a dashing young airman from Olean, New York. The couple married in 1957, in Elko, Nevada, and had three children, Toni, Scott and Todd. Being an Air Force family they moved frequently living in Okinawa, Japan, Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Goose Bay, Labrador, before returning to Mountain Home where Ted retired.

While in Okinawa, Lola worked as a proofreader for the Morning Star newspaper. She was a receptionist for Dr. Reynold's Dental Office in Mountain Home from the early 70's until she retired twenty-eight years later working at the Tooth Dome for Dr. Goodrich. Lola and Ted were able to visit Poland, Ireland, Russia, Norway, and Mexico. She loved to travel as long as she was with her sister, Farol and brother-in-law Reggie. Lola also loved to bake and cook for her family. All of her relatives remember her sausage rolls, cinnamon rolls, pumpkin cookies, and her famous bran muffins! Her kitchen was small and she would chase you out, but she created wonderful things in that small space. She also loved to sew and dress her granddaughters when they were little. Lola had a special place in her heart for all of her grandchildren. She made them feel special and important during each visit. Lola eventually discovered the Red Hat society and spent many years with her group. Her closets were filled with red hats, gloves and purses. She loved the Lord with all of her being and would tell anyone about him. One could always find her at the kitchen table every morning and evening with her Bible wide open. We will miss her smile, her jokes and her love. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ted, and grandsons Adam Hill and Zane Mikolajczyk. She is survived by her daughter Toni (Rick) Hill of Mtn. Home, sons Scott (Kim) of Moscow, ID, Todd (Melanie) of San Rafael, CA, grandchildren Angie (Josh) Bruce Meridian, ID and Grace and Benn Mikolajczyk of Moscow, ID, sisters Farol Jones, Chloe Adkison, brother Irvin Jr. (Butch) and numerous nieces and nephews. At her request a private burial ceremony will be held at the Bruneau Cemetery on August 19, 2021.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

A special thank you to each and every one of Lola's caregivers at Ashley Manor. We love and appreciate you so much. Thank you also to all the wonderful Hospice nurses that took such gentle care of her toward the end of her days.
