9 Month Investigation leads to ECSO Drug Bust

The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit has concluded a 9-month drug trafficking investigation. Elmore County Detectives arrested two individuals that were involved in a major drug trafficking organization that was operating in the Elmore County and Mountain Home area.

On Monday March 15, 2021 James Doud, 59 of Mountain Home and Trisha Copeland, 40 of Mountain Home were both taken into custody on several criminal charges.

DOUD was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, trafficking in heroin and unlawful possession of a firearm.

COPELAND was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

As a result of this investigation the following items were seized.

10.3 grams of heroin. This amount of heroin has a total street value of $1,500.

5.09 pounds of Methamphetamine. This amount of methamphetamine has a total street value of $184,000.

One stolen firearm was also recovered.
