Jean Carol Jewett Campbell, 81, from Bruneau, quietly passed away from natural causes in the home of her daughter in Grand View, surrounded by family on Christmas Day, December 25, 2020. She was known for her love of large family gatherings especially during Christmas, her favorite holiday.

Jean was born April 6, 1939, in Glenns Ferry, to parents Chester and Lillian Sellman. She was the oldest of four children. She grew up in Bruneau, and graduated from Bruneau High School in 1957.

On August 9, 1957, Jean married Larry Wayne Jewett, her sweetheart. They had three children.

The family ranched in Bruneau for many years. Larry passed away in 1971 and left Jean running a ranch and raising three children on her own. She continued to run the ranch for many years with the help of the kids.

Jean worked at the Valley Merc in Bruneau for several years. Customers loved seeing her smiling face at the register and stopping to chat with her. Jean later sold the ranch and married Boyd Campbell in 1993. With their marriage came another son, David Campbell, whom she adored. Together they ran the store until moving to Mountain Home to start their retirement.

Jean was a member of the Bruneau American Legion Post #83 Auxiliary and loved going to the special events in her beloved hometown of Bruneau. She loved to play bridge with the ladies in the Bruneau and Grand View valley.

Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to spoil them rotten and have them for overnight stays out at the ranch and later when she moved into town. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune with her family every evening.

She is survived by her children, Larry “Slick” (Dolores) Jewett, David Campbell, Perry (Deanene) Jewett, and Debbie (Allen) Long; her siblings, Chet (Cathy) Sellman, John (Sher) Sellman, and Bonnie (Bill) Gilbert; Brother-In-Laws Tim (Jolee) Jewett, Steve Jewett, and Sister-In-Law Ella (Jumbo) Gennette. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Larry (Kylee) Jewett, Brandi Jo Long, Matthew (Kala) Jewett, Alisha (Joe) Elledge, and Jay (Karlee) Long; and her four great-grandchildren, Nathan, Austin, and Joey Elledge, and Jaton Allen Long; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces whom she loved dearly.

Jean was preceded in death by both husbands, Larry Jewett and Boyd Campbell; her parents Chet Sellman and Lillian Sellman Tindall; stepfather Bob Tindall; and stepsister Marie Tindall.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 1:30 pm at the Bruneau American Legion Hall in Bruneau. There will be a visitation and viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at the Bruneau Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home in Mountain Home.

The family wishes to thank the Treasure Valley Hospice team for their excellent care of our mom and grandma. The compassion and love they showed to our loved one and our family is beyond words.

Memorials may be made to Bruneau American Legion Auxiliary, C/O Cathy Sellman, 31267 State Highway 51, Bruneau, Idaho 83604, or flowers may be sent.
