Mary Frances Ferbrache, age 93, died peacefully on December 9, 2020 in the Poplar Grove Assisted Living in Glenns Ferry.A viewing will be held from 4-6 P.M. followed by the Rosary at 6 P.M. on Wednesday, December 16 at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.A Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church on Thursday, December 17at 10A.M.Masks are required and social distancing will be followed.She was born on November 24, 1927 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to Walter and Emma Mayer. Mary was raised in a devout Catholic family and was a person of strong Christian values that extended to the love and acceptance of everyone. Mary was the oldest of four children and is survived by her siblings Rev. Walter Mayer, Celia Wegerzyn and Margaret Ruszel. After Mary graduated from high school, she attended DePaul University where she earned a Bachelor degree in English Literature.She moved to Mountain Home in 1952 to become a teacher at the Mountain Home High School where she taught for 25 years. Mary and Jack married in 1952 and made homes in Chicago Heights and Mountain Home-eventually settling in Mountain Home where they raised 10 children: John, Andy (Tussy), Joe (Kathy), Matt (deceased), Eve (Al) Newbill, Ann, Barbara (Alan) Anderson, Monica (Dave) Jones, Janelle (Dave) Moore and Mark (Gina). Mary was very proud of her 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.Mary was an active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Mary is preceded in death by her parents –Walter and Emma, husband Jack, son Matt and grandson Kelly Newbill and a daughter in law Paula.Memorials can be made in Mary’s name to Catholic Charities of Idaho; 7255 W. Franklin Street, Boise, 83709.The Ferbrache family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at the Poplar Grove Assisted Living for their attentiveness and loving care.
