Congratulation Nicole Odgers

Please join us in saying congratulation to Nicole Odgers, an employee of the Elmore County Sheriff Office. Nicole works at the Driver License Office.

I received notice from the Idaho Department Transportation office stating that Nicole provided extraordinary service to a customer.

95-year-old woman asked for assistance to obtain a Star Card from the Sheriff Office. She brought a birth certificate and a souvenir marriage license that did not include her maiden name. She had been married previously in Idaho but did not remember what county she was married in or where her divorce papers were filed.

She needed a Star Card to keep her job as a bus monitor for the Caldwell Transportation Company. The bus that she rides accesses the Mountain Home Air Force Base. The base is now only renewing civilian passes to people with a Star Card.

Nicole researched Elmore County records and finding nothing, she called the Elk County Nevada Courthouse, where the lady’s second marriage took place, to learn if the license had her maiden name. The license was on file but did not contain her maiden name. Nicole then reached to to the Ada County Courthouse for assistance.

After searching the county’s paper files, the lady’s first marriage license with her maiden name was found, scanned and emailed to Nicole.

With the original marriage license, her birth certificate and other documents she received her Star Card.

The lady was overjoyed that she got her license and was able to keep her job.

Nicole stated the outstanding service was a team effort.

Heather stated, Nicole has gone over and beyond what an examiner is expected to do. There are not that many folks now days that will go the extra mile like that.
