The Mountain Home City Council met on Dec. 23. During the meeting appointments were made to the Planning and Zoning Board and the Urban Renewal Agency.

Travis Eikeness was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Board to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Dennis Belt.

Eikeness has lived in Mountain Home for 22 years and has worked at Marathon Cheese for 12 years.

Eikeness said he has always been interested in city government and wanted to take the next step in serving the community.

Councilman Jimmy Schipanni explained to Eikeness that Planning and Zoning is a very crucial committee and wished him luck.

Randy Valley came before the council to be re-appointed to the Urban Renewal Agency.

Valley said that he was very excited and happy to serve the community as part of the agency.

“What do you think of the Hub,” Councilman Mark Bryant asked.

Wonder how one learns about any openings on boards and commissions. Just seems little is put out and only those in the inner circle are selected to fill openings. Might be a way of keeping new blood/ideas of coming in.
