This year the Idaho Economic Development Association unveiled an annual award: The Economic Development Professional of the Year and the inaugural winner is Mountain Home's own Executive Director of Economic Development, Courtney Lewis.

The award came as a complete shock to Lewis, when Mayor Rich Sykes and her co-workers, kept the major accomplishment from her. Lewis is not the type to "toot her own horn" and quickly explained that she couldn't do what she does without all of the support she receives from the team around her.

"I was shocked and humbled. The people who were in the room with me were all amazing people and do incredible work," Lewis said. "Many of them have mentored me and helped me, so to be chosen by them was a huge honor."
